Is the Lego company planning to re release the 7029 Skeleton Ship Attack? I saw 20+ of them stacking up on the upper most shelf in a Toys R Us. listed at $54.99 buy one get one half off. I did some serious lego shopping this week, first time that I come across this set. Any news on this? Should I buy some more?

At $55 and buy one, get one half off, it might actually be worth picking up. Two of them for about $80 really isn't a bad deal, especially considering the original, rediculous price of $70 or $80. If you need some black viking ship hulls and tattered sails, that's the place to go. It's the only set to get those hull parts in black, and you really kind of need to sets to get a complete ship. Nothing else from that set is very special.

The other option is you could get that and the Pirate Soldier's Fort for a total of $80, which wouldn't be too bad a deal either.

I doubt this is a 're-release'. That set was a TRU exclusive. They probably just had a lot of backstock and are trying to clear it out during Christmas so they don't have to sell it even cheaper on clearance in the spring.

If I were you, I´d definately would pick 2 up! Here in Sweden they cost over $80 each... :hmpf_bad:

If some of you would pick´em up, can you please trade me one of the black hats without any printing on it? (The one that the skeleton captain is wearing.)

Thanks!

I don't think the ship ever really went anywhere, the sets were just sold out in many places, so they made some more. A year's gap in production isn't quite long enough to call it "rerelease".

Do you have any hat with printings on? If you do so and want to get rid of the printing you just have to buy some "Häxans koppar puts" (a Swedish product...sorry). You then place some of that stuff on a damp and rub it on to the printing. Tadaaa! After a while the printing disappears and there is no sign of the printing or that you have used mild "violence" to get rid of it.

Over and out

Here in San Diego I'd have to say I've not seen this set in a TRU for months. Sounds like they had it available for a nice price. None of the TRU in my area have any LEGO on clearance or sale at the moment. Nice find. I doubt this is a rerelease though, as others have stated.

Before panic spreads remember that the Star Wars 7666 Hoth Rebel Base went and came back.

I think it's a question of production.

This year we'll see 3 new Castle sets, so of course they're going to produce the sets from last year.

It'll be a while before they dissappear.

I've even seen the Skeleton Ship return here in Denmark, and that's usually a good indication that the set is still being produced - we're always the last one.

Talking about being the last, I don't know about the situations in Denmark but China is definitely one of the last. :hmpf_bad: Well, it is probably forgotten given the fact that I have never seen 7029 here and 10193 is STILL not available!:thumbdown:
