Hello

I used to work at toys r us ages ago in luton and they always had a good selection, I am trying to find for my nephew the Lego 4955 Creator Big Rig and everywhere has sold out.

I am off to Lakeside shopping and there is a toys r us there, I was wondering what the range is like now as i might treat myself to a technic set.??

It's crap to be honest mate. Not worth the car park charge (yes you have to pay to park at the stupid place now!). Unless you are desparate for a Nandos or Superdrug it just ain't worth bothering!!

BTW - Very jealous of your "deal"!!

Hello

Thanks i did hear that it was not good, Last time i went was about 2 months after it opened and plently of empty shops. I had a lego binge today i also purchased from argos the 8292 cherry picker from argos for £36 as they have upto 1/2 price on some lego, I did purchased this set for £49.99 about 3 weeks ago form my nephew. I thought it looked great especially with the power functions.

The range is ok, certainly best ive seen (toys r us in general) apart from lego shops. they have offer when you spend £75 at moment but you have only a week or two to spend the bonus £20 after christmas.

Hello

I was in toys r us and the range is o.k a lot smaller than it used to be, I was looking around today and the lego ranges available in shops is small and hard to find except lego shops which are few and between nearest to me is milton keynes, i looked at the entertainer, toys r us, tesco. I think there was a shop that sold nothing but lego near amersham but is now a entertainer,

Considering this topic is called TRU Uk...

My local TRU has a massive selection of Lego (almost too much to be sold)

I was weighing all my Christmas presents and cash for a massive Lego fest before Christmas with 09 sets...

... it doesn't look hopeful because there's no room on the shelves for 2009 sets! But I want them.

P.S: I have Big Rig. One of my favourite creator sets ever with those details. :jollyroger:

If your making the effort to drive to lakeside, you may as well just pay the £1 to cross over the bridge and drive 5 miles down the road and go to the Lego shop at bluewater, it may not offer big discounts but they tend to have the range, last year they had some of the new year sets available in early December.

Talking about TRU my local TRu is good for star wars fans especially but for mainly castle fans they hae no sets apart from once I saw dwarfs mine defender. :pir_yoda::thumbup::pir-sad::thumbdown:

I have always been slightly disappointed by Toys R Us in the UK, they tend to have excessive amounts of the stock that no one wants to buy, and they almost never have any offers on Lego

Just outside Reading in the UK we used to have a Warehouse creatively called "Redaing Warehouse" who had a great range of Lego at abouyt 10% below the going rate. They often had old sets on the shelves. However after a modernisation refit a couple of years ago they unfortuantley no longer seem as good.
