Aliencat Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) I figured it's about time I post this here too :) The Crusader fort of Herenbosch is visited by an unknown messenger bringing unwelcomed news. Here's the brickshelf gallery containing detail photos. And here's a shot of the visiting messenger: Edited March 24, 2009 by Aliencat Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) That's simply brilliant, Aliencat! I really  your Castle MOC! This is really a masterpieces of work! All these details and this authenticity! The astral array of the wall pieces is a really good idea and surely even difficult work. The emblems of the strangers look perfect, too. Very, very well done! Btw: Did you add some interior to the buildings, too? If so, do you plan to show us some pics of them, too? And even: Very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB, Aliencat! KimT Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 [sound of jaw slamming onto the table] I...am....petrified... That's amazing work aliencat. How big is that beauty? It must be huge... Quote
Aliencat Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) Thanks a lot for the comments! :) Btw: Did you add some interior to the buildings, too? If so, do you plan to show us some pics of them, too?And even: Very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB, Aliencat! Thanks, Klaus-Dieter, and to be honest I added only as much interior as can be seen through the windows from the outside, so the buildings don't look empty. But the buildings don't actually open up How big is that beauty? The widest distance between two outmost points is 144 studs, and the longest distance perpendicular to that is 120 studs. If that makes sense ;) cause it isn't exactly square :P Edited December 10, 2008 by Aliencat Quote

Captain Green Hair Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Excellent work! The shape of it can work for 18th century forts as well and is very inspiring. I'm also in love with that trebuchet, does it actually sling stuff? Quote
Aliencat Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Hey thanks a lot for the replies! :) Is this modeled after an existing fortress? No, it's completely improvised as I went. I'm also in love with that trebuchet, does it actually sling stuff? Yes but not very far unfortunately ;) Quote
Teddy Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 (edited) Dear Aliencat, as i said on CC. Me and my girlfriend (she happened to see me browsing at the time ) really love the shape of this castle. It reminded my girlfriend of Mont Saint Michel: http://www.endurancerides.com/images/MontStMichel.jpg. Well as I said before it's a real beauty. Difficult choice this year for CCCVI, with all those beautyful castles. Kind regards, Teddy Edited December 11, 2008 by Teddy Quote
Aliencat Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Thanks a lot Teddy! Difficult choice this year for CCCVI, with all those beautyful castles. Are you going to enter? I realize you can't enter the modular one you've been posting, because that was shown on the world wide web before the 1st of november, but are you planning to enter something else? Or maybe one of the other categories? If so I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff :) Quote

Or maybe one of the other categories? If so I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff :) Thanks Aliencat! I'm not going to enter. I've just started to do my first castle and I want to finish that one first. I've ordered some bricks that should keep me busy during christmas. To be honoust I wasn't really aware of CC and CC-contest untill fairly recently so I didn't plan anything. Maybe I will enter something next year. But I will probably start to focuss more on the HMS Victory now. I want to finish my MOC of the HMS Victory before next years Legoworld Zwolle. So me, CGH and Errorist can display our ships side by side. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
