Hello all Castle Lovers,

As a castle collector myself, I love to collect tons of horses to form a massive army of valiant knights and brave soldiers. To differentiate various knights allegiance, a barding is laid upon the mighty horse, awaits its rider. At this very moment, in ancient LEGO Castle history, there is a total of 11 unique barding that represent different powerful kingdom and forces in the world of imagination.

I love to collect these barding, but I still left 2 more from completing the entire collection, which is the Shogun and the Majestic Knight. Do pardon me for the names which I gave. It's supposed to be mere representation of what you are voting for. Come on everyone, tell us why you love or hate horse barding? Does it make a difference to your collection or army? More importantly, tell us in this poll by voting for your favourite castle barding.

Love the poll, one suggestion though. I want to vote but I can't match the names to the bardings. I know you added references like (crown knights) but not everyone can be certain they are voting a swift knight's barding or not. Furthermore, the others are confusing as well x_x. Add images to them? or somehow number them? I hope this helps.

I too love the barding Lego has made, they just add another touch of detail that is always sought after. The prints on these are fantastic too! I have them all except the Shogun, Majestic Knight, and I don't think I have the Imperial Knight. Ah well, I'll get them eventually. :classic:

My favourite has to be... the Holy Knight (#2). Of the two dragon themed ones, this one has the clearest look and is more appealing to me compared to the other. I love all the others too, but my absolute favourite has to be a dragon one, so there you go. If I had to chose a non dragon favourite it would be the Imperial Knight as it has such a cool print and looks very royal.

This is a neat topic idea, I look forward to seeing what the rest of you have to say. :sweet:

I chose the Fright knight one.

Mainly because of the dragon head gear :wub:

Although Drag-man is right, the two dragon ones are awsome  they were my second pick

Although I only have the one with the lion :cry_sad:

Legobear, I have improved the layout of the polls. I hope it will be much easier for you and the rest of you to vote. Sorry for the trouble. Please continue the discussion.

By the way, my vote goes to "Holy Knight". It's obvious, because WhiteFang's steed is laid with the holy barding, orignated from Black Knights Kingdom. I have to love its blue layer and dragon painting at the side of its barding. It's look so wonderful. Here is a very old picture of me and my beloved steed.

The second barding which I love the most, yet I don't own it at this moment, is the "Shogun" barding. The oriential asian design, is most suitable for my Shogun leading the samurais and ninja, crushing bandits from the highlands. The third barding which I love, is the "Lightning Knight". This barding, by far appeared in 3 recent sets, which are King's Castle Siege, Skeleton Tower and Giant Castle Chess set. This new barding makes excellent paladin or elite knights in Crown Kingdom.

I am glad that there are people out there, shared the interest of owning a barding as well. In fact, barding is the most essential decorating item which could be used to enhance of the beauty of the horse.

Ah, Euston, we seem to have lost some poll votes. :look:

Who stole my vote! :sing:

Is the results look normal to you? There was some error earlier ago with the poll. No worries, it has been fixed.

Yes, much better thanks. I was worried for a second there.

Thanks for updating it :classic:

I have a hard time choosing between 9 and 11. I love the imperial knight barding because I use to have one and it gives me great memories of playing with it (my bro gave away my Legos, for a good cause though). I liked it also for the fact that it almost looks like some sort of white leopard skin with the spots and all.

I have to say that I also enjoy the Lightning Knight as well except for one huge, huge, let down.............it should have been the main barding with Castle for 2007 and 2008. This barding is awfully difficult to acquire in masses. Since I bought the Castle I only have 1...which means I use it for my king when he is suppose to be riding horses with the golden bardings instead.

Once I saws bardings on last year's theme, I made sure to snatch them up quickly as they become very expensive when the sets are no longer in production. I hope Lego will continue making them in the next line as well, I can't wait to see what's next. By the way, I voted for the royal knights :)

I wish lego would make sword holders more sturdy, those things break easily!!! Lego should know by now to use softer plastic there X_X, that's just my two cents. Seriously, a barding with a broken sword holder is sad.

I can really imagine how that felt. :cry_sad: Look at the picture which I have provide earlier, the holy knight barding is broken, few years back. I search for one and paid quite hefty for a newer and better quality of the similar barding. I can't stand it. I need the holder to be there in order for the knight to hold its flags representation.

Voted for number 2 - the black and blue barding.

Why?

Simply because I'm sentimental when it comes to Castle.

This great barding was in my beloved Castle that I got for Christmas when I was waaaay younger than now.

Great poll idea, WhiteFang!

I voted for Majestic Knight (Royal Lions) since I like this one the best.

But I must say that - apart from the Sky Knight's and the Scorpion Knight's bardings - I like all of them since they are really well designed.

Btw: The Sky Knight and the Scorpion Knight are from KK2, not KK1. But that doesn't matter.

Whoa - I'll be honest - I only knew of about half of those. I always like the Fright Knights, but Scorpion and recent Castle barding are the best IMO. I voted #11 as I prefer silver trim over gold.

What's up with the strange names? They're a fun addition, but some of them don't really fit their respective barding at all.

Anyway, I currently have four of those bardings, although in my childhood I had none, and I always thought they were really awesome. I have both Crown Knights bardings as well as the ones from Fright Knights and the Lion Knights. The best looking out of that bunch is in my opinion the second Crown Knight barding, with the chainmail and all the fancy details

Number 3. I always loved the early bardings, Black Knights are my faviouirte theme, and the red one always one the childhood jousts...

God Bless,

Nathan

In other websites such as Bricklink and Peeron, they classify these barding as KKII. However, I feel that these bardings belong to the "real start" of the Rainbow Knights, which known as KKI. Well, you are right, it doesn't really matter.

Errr.... :look: Actually, some of the names are supposed to be wierd, because at that very moment when I create that topic, my inspiration snaps suddenly which cause the lack of names generation. I guess that's why you find some of them unsuitable.

This reminds me of how badly the Dragon Masters got shafted, since they are one of the few factions without a barding. :cry_sad::pir_bawling:

So my vote goes to the Fright Knight one.

Neat topic! I voted for number 2, but I also like the Fright Knight one, because it can be used for any theme.

Actually, KKI was the Bulls vs. Lions theme, which came a couple years before the rainbow knights of KKII. Barding number 6 is from the KKI theme.

I voted the majestic knight. First because it was the first one I had in my collection  and second because, for me, it's the one representing the best the real medieval bardings

I'll go for option 2, The holy knight.

It was a hard choice, Option 4 (majestic knight) is also very nice.

Besides that its pure centimental, my older brother used to have set 6085 (black monarch castle) and i love to play with it.

Always good to have the regulator around.

When in doubt on which set belong to which theme, then just check the Review Index for reference.

It's year and theme accurate.

Yeah, I voted for no.11 as it looks better than the gold barding and is the most detailed. Although I love classic castle the Crown Knights are amazing and this one is rarer than the gold barding.

After a bit of difficult considerations (which included going to Bricklink for higher resolution pictures ) I ended up voting for number 4. Of course nostalgia is a part of it, it was the only barding I had as a kid. But it's also one of the most beautiful bardings in the poll, in my opinion only rivaled by the two fright knights bardings. The lion design is better than the dragon design though (sorry Dragonator ), so in the end the lion came out on top. Roar.

Dillion, thanks for your clarification on this. I was a little confused earlier ago.
