New Lego Architecture sets have been revealed! Brickset has just posted new pictures of Adam Reed Tucker's creations. Although prototype images have been shown in the instruction booklets of 21000 Sears Tower and 21001 John Hancock Center, these are the first images of the complete sets. The two new additions to the line (2009 release) are the 21002 Empire State Building from New York, and the 21003 Seattle Space Needle.

Personally, all of the Architecture sets look magnificent. They are simple, fun MINIs of the world's famous landmarks, and are really inspiring to make your favorite landmark in Lego form. They are a little (Under-exaggeration) over-priced, but I am seriously considering buying the first pair when I go to Schaumberg in Illinois this holiday. And by the way, have we seen those bendy pieces in the Space Needle before?

The space needle is the first one that's actually interesting. But not if it's 20 dollars again... it should remain below 10 dollars/euros.

The John Hancock Tower and Sears Tower were both previously released as event sets at BrickWorld. I have 'em both, and I even had Adam sign one of them. I preferred the packaging on them. The Space Needle does look like the coolest of the lot and I would gripe about the price too, but I think I plunked down 20 buck for each event kit. But I don't care. lol

LEGO Architecture (US)

Lego has up a whole site for the Architecture line now. There are few things I found interesting:

First, the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) is not on the website, but available at S@H (US). I cannot tell from the S@H pics if the name tile has been or will be changed. It will be interesting to hear from people who buy it now if it now says Willis Tower. The name change of the actual building happened July 16th.

Second, the Architecture line is divided into three categories, Landmark, Architect, and Discovery. Landmark Series sets are the famous building mini-sculptures, like Willis Tower. The Architect series includes Fallingwater and the Guggenheim, both Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, hinting that multiple buildings by another single famous architect may be release again in the future. The Discovery series only says Coming Soon.

If I were to speculate on the Discovery series, since Landmark focuses on the building, Architect on the architect, Discovery might focus on the style. It could also be more like Creator sets. I know it won't happen, but it would be neat if it was entire skylines created in miniature

Perhaps the Discovery series will focus on architecture from the ancient/medieval world - the Parthenon, the cathedral of Notre Dame or the Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza, for instance.

Only a few of the LEGO stores actually sell these items. I know all of the Chicagoland stores sell them because 2 of the real buildings are located there, just like Seattle's store has them also.

$20 each for the Landmarks, $50 for the Guggenheim.

Man I soo want some of these ! They look so well built and really look like the actual building they portray. Its a shame that they dont sell these all over the world because I would buy all of them. I cant wait to see what the discovery castle looks like

Hey guys. Ok, so I'm brand new here at Eurobricks, so forgive me if this is not the right place for this.

I was wondering whether I can find the Lego Architecture sets somewhere in London. Now I know that Lego has some shops in Bluewater or something and in Milton Keynes, but these are very far for me to go to. So, does anyone know where I can find this sets in London?

Unless a specialist retailer in London carries them, they don't seem to have wide release - even in the US the locations where these are sold are limited.

I saw these awhile back on the official LEGO website, yes they are cool little MINI's that I would place on my desk

However the price is very high, and I will probably just download the instructions and build them myself

The only one I would probably build would be the Seattle Space Needle which is my favorite of the bunch

I definitely think they could continue with some of the other mentioned iconic places like the efiel tower and so on
