Mirandir Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Also, I like the new vented slope piece (you can see it in the fire crotch picture) but I wish I had them in black instead of lime green. You should checkout the new 8168 Ferrari Victory set. If I'm not totaly colorblind it has four black of those "slope-vents". You can see them on a photo on the back of the box. Which I held in a toystore as late as this afternoon. :) Quote
Brainbox Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Oh yeah, I'm getting this. Thanks for the review. First off, it's a piece of proper machinery (albeit one with an open cockpit area and a crotch-burning furnace). I love proper machinery! Second, it looks a bit like The Mole from Thunderbirds. Once again, I love Thunderbirds. The counter-rotationg mechanism shoud be great, the rock monsters are awesome and I do quite like the wheels. The top half of the combo model is kind of neat as well. But I promise you, the crotch-burning furnace will be the first thing to go. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Looks very nice Can't wait to find them in the stores where I live Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Thanks for the review! I love the set. A more sensible Crazy One. Quote
Motti Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Nice review. (especially for us old guys). I just bought one. I figured out that the rough stickers (the black and white stripes) both keep minifigs fomsliding (as in real life) but also are glow in the dark! As for the price, I think that the large pieces and abundance of lime green pieces makes up for this. (I also think that the fire aimed at the crotch is supposed to be a furnace where you put in coal or something, despite a sticker which reads "oil"). Quote
Derek Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I saw a Power Miners display at Target today, and they had one of the showcase clear boxes there, with this set on a lever, so you can push it and see the set move. It really was cool how the drill turns, but I doubt I'll get this, and if I do, I would wait for a sale, and it would only be for the orange monster (the best one, IMO) Thanks for the review! Quote
