kidcharm Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Great Review! ...I didn't know that the arms of the little rock guys could work for the mini figs! That Rocks! (Har Har Har! ;) ) Seriously, I think that's a fun feature that I hope TLG continues to explore. Additionally I think the set in general is pretty cute. Nice, clean, and well rounded looks and sounds to be a nice entry into this theme. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 And I shall christen this Minifig with the name... UNIBROW Great review, I might pick this up just for the head. I'd love that on a chef minifig. Quote
DarthPineapple Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 You made me wanting to buy this little set. Power miners isn't worth very much money but this set surely is! I love that roll cage piece. Quote
Bounty Hunter Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Great review! I think I will get one this set when it goes out! Quote
PMJ Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Other people may be excepting Power Miners, but as a hard core RR fan, I can't bear Power Miners. Quote
MrBlack103 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 The new Power Miners sets look great. However, as many people have already said, I personally prefer the "sci-fi industry" feel of Rock Raiders to the "modern industry" feel of Power Miners. Quote
xenologer Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Just got this set myself, Interesting Note: the rubber band does not come on one of the old grey rubber band holder things, instead it was packed in a separate cardboard packet; like capes and rope usually come in. I sure will miss the old technic-y band holders.... Also occurs to me that there are some very Odd things about the construction, like inside the base of the chassis why are they're click hinges? and why the technic rod and connectors right behind the driver's seat? it's nice to have the parts i guess... but its strange, they don't seem to serve any purpose in the actual model's functions and they're expensive parts too; so I wonder why they'd do that? slimninj4 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I like these sets. I will be getting three of the five sets this year. I love the lime green and actually each set does a pretty good way of designing the engines. Quote
Raphy Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Man! I can't wait to get me one of these How do the tracks run? Smoothly, or roughly? Oh and this is my first post Quote
xenologer Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 How do the tracks run? Smoothly, or roughly? I have a love/hate relationship with those rubber tracks in general, not just this set. They look nice, but always seem to hate rolling smoothly since they pull hard on the wheels and make their axles bind up. Longer axles with good support inside the chassis can help, but its a pain to get right. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Well done! A great review of a great set - I'm picking this one up tomorrow, if it's still in the shop It does look like a great little set for the price, and of course there's the obligatory rock monster But I'll probably put the big container piece it tows and the chain to use in a Power Miners Moc, however. BreedingtheSpawn Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 A must buy. Was anyone here able to find this set in stores? Quote
