KinGanon Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Yes but bricklink's profit isnt TLC's fault, bricklink is not a website authorised by them. Besides it's Lego' company so they can actually sell us whatever the hell they want Yeah I know, I feel bad for all those sellers who will lose money when this comes out. Anyway I'm still wondering if this interferes with the Hasbro policy. Quote
JCC1004 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 I'll probaly get all of these, the magnets will be useful for displaying other figs. No more keychains for me! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 So if these figs are normal ones available at a cheap price, won't this destroy BL sellers who make profits off of rare figs?(I mean $15 for Dooku, Yoda, and Mace) Dooku alone is topping $40 on BL. Also does this interfere with Hasbros "no minifig only sets" or is there a loophole since they are magnets? Yeah this is a BAD time for SW minifig sellers, but a GREAT time for minifig collectors. Honestly, I won't feel bad for the sellers 'coz I think they are charging way too high for the minifigs. Imagine a Dooku for 40$??? when you can buy the whole Solar Sailer set for 50$! This is just how the business goes, so they better drop their prices now or lose value of their minfigs... Quote
Commander Flash Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I agree with kiel. The sellers take advantage of the collectors, and i think this is the perfect thing they need to learn to not charge alot more times the thing is worth. Hopefully each pack is $15 Quote
Knightsword Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 There is also the possibility, even likely, that these (The CW set) could turn into scalper bate, esp. here in the US. Quote

Hopefully each pack is $15 S@H price for each set is AUD 16.99 in Australia. So it might sell around ~$15 in the US. I'll be getting the Yoda-Dooku-Mace set via BL in AUS @ US$15. Svelte Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 The Darth Maul and Royal Guard sets are now also up at Shop@Home for Europe etc. http://shop.lego.com/whatsnew/productslaunched2009.aspx?pg=5 Interesting that they call the second one the Royal Guard set rather than the Boba Fett set. Marketing, eh? Quote
Derek Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Interesting that they call the second one the Royal Guard set rather than the Boba Fett set. Marketing, eh? Why is that? I would think that Boba Fett is a more familiar character.... Quote

Erdbeereis Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I wonder if these will ever make it to the U.S.... It's strange that they're all out in other countries, but none are showing up on US S@H. Maybe this is TLG's way of apologizing for the steep European prices. Quote

Well, we don't have Farm sets yet, so the production centres obviously work at slightly different rates, and on different production batches. I am sure they'll be up for US customers soon. Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 For minifig aficionados like me, TLC couldn't have put together a better collection of Clone Wars magnets! Cartoony Yoda, bad@$$ Mace and The Dude With The Best Hair Since, Well Uhm CW Anakin... CW Dooku! Three awesome figs for 10 euros! Yahoo! And high-five for the guy who decided magnet figs should be proper figs on magnet bricks instead of figs with magnet legs and glued torsos! Are those too many exclamation marks? (!) Quote
diabloiij Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I see many people in this topic said that the legs of these magnet mini figs can be remove but when I asked 2 of the sellers from eBay who are selling these new magnet sets. They have told me that the legs can't be remove from the mini figs. for example like this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-minifig...alenotsupported Quote

The Darth Maul is from 2007, and the new ones doesn´t have the magnet there - instead in the supporting brick.CopMike Quote
Dennimator Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I bought a few of each set a few days ago, I´m going to make a smaller fortune selling the figs separately! (Not many people in Sweden know about this, I already have found a buyer for the Darth Maul fig-without hood and lightsaber for 250 SEK (around $31)! Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Makes me laugh that ANYBODY cares if the sellers who rip people off for minifigs lose their nice little earner. It's like feeling sorry for ticket touts outside gigs or sporting events when more tickets are put on sale to the public. These sets are a great way to commemorate 10 years of Lego Star Wars - well done TLC ! Dr. D. Quote
Zzz Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I hope there will be another CW set coming out this year! Perhaps another one with the mid year releases, that would be too great! Quote
Bricks Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I hope there will be another CW set coming out this year! Perhaps another one with the mid year releases, that would be too great! I'm sure, we will get another set. But in primal in the summer. One of the reasons could be the popularity of the other one... Greetings 'Bricks' Quote
Commander Flash Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 A Luminara, Aayla, and Shaak Ti would be the best set ever, but whats the chance Quote
The Who Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 A Luminara, Aayla, and Shaak Ti would be the best set ever, but whats the chance Luminara---Almost no chance, she was an old fig. Aayla-------Nope, they have yet to make a standard fig of her. Shaak Ti----Probably not, although she can easily be made from existing figs, like Ahsoka. Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I just got my Yoda set and I'm very pleased (although a little annoyed that they put up the Boba Fett pack right after I ordered, so I won't have that one for a few more days). It's a great way to expand your mini fig collection without having to buy the more expensive sets, and just to confirm once again, you can remove the legs, along with every other part, they're exactly the same as the normal minifigs, Dooku even has his cape. I'm hoping to see a set with Rex and the CW Obi-wan at some point, as those two are only available in the more expensive sets. Quote
Derek Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Luminara---Almost no chance, she was an old fig. They might do a CW version of her. They have her headpiece from 2005. I can see a set with Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan though. Or Assajj, Rex and a Clone (Or even Rotta if they figured out a way) would be nice, one with Rex, Cody, and Fox as mentioned before would be plain amazing. Quote

bamaker Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I just ordered my sets of minifigs. I purchased the Yoda set (need all 3), the Darth Maul set (need a loose Darth Maul), and the Boba Fett set (need a loose Leia and I can always use an extra Royal Guard). Used the BSCD28 promo code to get $5.00 off, too! This is such a great offer -- LEGO just saved me $155 USD by offering the Yoda, Dooku, and Mace pack. I'm so glad I held off spending $170 to buy the 3 sets these mini-figs come in. Quote
Commander Flash Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Nice. I'm gonna get the packs when i get the money. Thanks for the update Quote
