Fritzy Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Anyone know when Guardians of the Galaxy sets are due to appear in Walmart or Toys R Us in Canada? Have you found the sets yet? The X-Men set was featured in the most recent flyer, so I imagine they're starting to carry them now at TRU. Quote
mccoyed Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I did like a few days later. I got Knowhere and the Nova mini set. Then a few days after that I got the Milano. I was very happy, let me tell you. Quote
Fritzy Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 That's great. :) I have yet to pick up any of the sets myself (I'm only interested in Starblaster Showdown and Milano), but I will when the time is right. Considering the price, I won't be picking up the Milano until it goes on sale. Quote
mccoyed Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 The main reason to get Knowhere Escape is the minifigs. The little ship Rocket rides is kind of cool, but the rest of the set isn't that exciting. The Milano is the best Lego ship I've ever bought and built, but to be fair there haven't been many. Has the Quinjet beat by a fair margin, though. Quote
Fritzy Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Yeah, the pod was the main reason why I was initially interested in the Knowhere Escape set. And as per the norm with the GotG sets, the minifigures are very appealing. But when I realized it would be $50 here, I decided against it. To me, even with the quirky Rocket minifigure, it's not worth the money. Oh, for anyone interested, this week Toys R Us will have select TMNT sets at 20% off, including at least one of the newer ones. It'll be the first time I'm seeing a set from the newest wave go on sale (albeit I have seen some find the T-Rawket set on clearance at Target, but I'm going to assume that it was in the US, as is most often the case). Quote
mccoyed Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I'll go take a look at the TMNT sets, thanks. I only got one small one so far, but they do appeal to my nostalgia. Quote
winbrant Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Our group held our 2nd show this past weekend in Calgary, Brick Roundup. It went quite well despite the new venue and the weather. Just sharing some pictures from the show. Quote
tedbeard Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 ^ Congratulations! Glad to hear it went well. Quote
Niloc Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Has anyone spotted Ultra Agents sets in Walmart? I believe they're out at ToysRus, but I've been to Walmart and they didn't have any summer set... I hope they won't be released only later this year... (in August or something) Quote
Ben C Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 There is a great lego store in Mississauga called Lasting Toys, they have some of the older Lego sets. Quote

Fritzy Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 If anyone is contemplating the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase set because of the bonus 50 VIP Points this month, you may want to consider picking it up for $15 less through Best Buy or Future Shop. There's only one left, though, and the sale ends today (no idea when it began or if it will continue after today — it's happened before on their site). Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Anyone here living in Ontario ever manage to find polybags at any of your stores? The only one I know of is Toys R Us yet in the US, you can find them all very easily in the seasonal sections of Walmart, Target etc, but I can never seem to find them in their Canadian counterparts. Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Also, has anyone managed to find the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase set that is still in stores in Ontario? Edited July 14, 2014 by TDKR2012 Quote

I have never seen any polybags in any of my local stores. On trips to the GTA I've found them in Toys R Us and The Lego Store. Also, has anyone managed to find the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase set that is still in stores in Ontario? The only store I can think of that might still have it would be Lasting Toys in Mississauga. They have a large variety of retired sets as well as polybags, I've never been there personally but I plan a trip in the near future! Quote

Yeah besides those two stores, I haven't seen in any other retailer the seasonal polybags that are available in spades in the States. What a coincidence, I just called Lasting Toys today and they do have some Catwoman sets left over. With any luck maybe I can score that set and the Robin Redbird polybag that was advertised in TRU a year ago Edited July 15, 2014 by TDKR2012 Quote
Emma Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 My local Toys R Us always has some, although certain ones (like the Lake-town guard) disappear pretty fast, others stick around for quite a while (they always seem to have a bunch of Kraang's turtle target practice, ). Anyways, Target had a bunch of Mirkwood elf guards, Friends ice-cream stands, and Starwars 30243 (Umbaran MHC) at Christmas time, with the stocking stuffers; and there was a witch head one around Halloween. I've never seen polybags at Walmart though. Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Yeah, I never know which section to find them in at Target, a few weeks back I found a lone Creator polybag that was tucked away in the toy aisle but that was it. Quote

Actually! I just remembered, Chapters had the Umbaran MHC and the Fire Chiefs Car polybags! Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 God damn! Target has a 70% off sale starting tommorow and Garmatron was advertised at $14.99 instead of $49.99! WOW Quote
Emma Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) I missed out on the clearanced LoTR Pirate Ship (local Target)... I saw it, was undecided, went back a few days later to get it, and it was gone... oh well, I didn't reeeaaalllly need it... Anyways, I noticed that Target had the Creator Fast Car and Batman Tumbler polybags up near the checkout (with the chocolate bars and small gimmick-y stuff)... another place to keep an eye out for polys. Edit: Oh, one other interesting thing, I found two of the the DK Harry Potter lego books (with the exclusive minifigs) at Dollarama for $3 each. Edited July 21, 2014 by Emma Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I know how you feel, I was going to get Garmatron for $15 but when I went there, all sold out. Interesting, I just went to Target yesterday and I never see any polybags there up front. Which Target did you find them at if you don't mind me asking? Quote
