MacK Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Wal-mart finaly hasthe new lego. Indeed I was there a few days ago and noticed they actually had a few sets (not a lot but a few of the smaller sets), I bought the Wreak raider there. Now if only the Lego wasn't so expensive . Quote
sok117 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I didn't know there was a topic for us Canadians!!! I hope that TLC makes a lego store in toronto, there is so much money in that investment, please lego hear my wish... Quote
Legorski Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Well at least Lego has 'Plans', hope they're some time soon though, Canada needs more Lego! But... For Now to Toys-R-Us I go! XD Quote

dr_spock Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 There are also Walmart, Zellers, Mastermind that sell Lego in Canada. I'm probably missing a bunch more. Or go for free shipping around Christmas time with S@H on Lego.com. Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Well at least Lego has 'Plans', hope they're some time soon though, Canada needs more Lego! I highly doubt that they're actually planning anything. Truthfully, I think they're just trying to 'shut you up'. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Lego store in Canada, especially in Toronto, but I just don't think it's happening. Lego Canada only has two employees. Quote
Kintoé Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Wow! A Canadian forum! Personnally, I'm a little disappointed to don't find people from my Province. Is there anyone who lives in the Province of Quebec? The thing that I enjoy the most is to meet local sellers to their house while buying or selling items. You can have a discussion and show your collection to your guest, this is great! On the other hand, I'm happy that my province is next to Ontario. It is practical for Lego needs, the orders arrive in a short time. Approximatly 3 to 5 days. Quote

Ratshot Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Lego Canada only has two employees. Are you crazy There are 20 in Moncton alone, there's probably 300 or more in all of Canada. Quote
MacK Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 We also need a Lego store in Alberta. I really want a pick a brick! Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Are you crazy There are 20 in Moncton alone, there's probably 300 or more in all of Canada. I may be wrong, but that is what one of our ambassadors told me personally. Quote
BlueDragonZ Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 There are also Walmart, Zellers, Mastermind that sell Lego in Canada. I'm probably missing a bunch more. Or go for free shipping around Christmas time with S@H on Lego.com. Masterminds (not the site) is only at ontario. You also miss Sears, London Drugs, and Superstore. They may have a poor selection at times, but during christmas, they are OK. Btw, toysrus prices are OK and not too high for the new 2010 wave. Most of the stuff is at retail. The old Battle packs are still at $13.99 which they have not yet change to $14.99 yet. Probably cause the MSRP is already very expensive and severely marked up from last year. @ricecracker 2 employees... I heard we only have a call center here (not a warehouse) for french. All the lego's get here from the states. Quote
sok117 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I have been to lego canada, there use to be a lot of employees and there was a warhouse, but since the reccesion a lot of people had been laid off, and they got rid of the warhouse, now everything is shipped from the states. There are only like 7 or 8 employees now, I can't remember. Quote
dr_spock Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Didn't Lego used to have a building in Markham, Ontario by Highway 404? BlueDragonZ, Superstore selection is not very good. I was able to get the Sports Car for $9 around Christmas. Oh yeah, I forgot about London Drugs in B.C. My nephews get all their Lego there. I'll have to check out Sears. Kintoé, which part of Quebec are you from? I used to live in Montreal. Quote
prateek Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Didn't Lego used to have a building in Markham, Ontario by Highway 404? I'm pretty sure they still do. Where else would we send our Magazine contest pics? Quote
dr_spock Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I'm pretty sure they still do. Where else would we send our Magazine contest pics? I google mapped them and they are now on the east side by Leslie Street in Richmond Hill instead of Markham. I vaguely remember a white building with LEGO on it that you can see west side of the 404 just by Buttonville Airport. The building has Pioneer on it now. Quote
Sir Fred Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I'm just curious, has anyone else found Wal-Marts to suddenly have good selection? The other day I was in the Wal-Mart in Fredericton and they not only had good selection, including almost all the 2010 sets, but Brickbeard's Bounty on clearance for 80$. They even seemed to have more than the Toys R Us. Quote

Ya thats what i said. Their selection may not be the greatest but its OK (still less than average zellers) during Xmas. They still have separatist shuttle & vader fighter for $33.94 and hailfire droids and spider droids at my supstore. London drugs just finished their 20% off lego sale recently. BTW which part of BC are you from? @Sir Fred They do have a good selection. But now that toysrus is stocking up again, I wouldn't say that. They also have christmas mini sets for $2.48 (half price). I also just google map them with street view. Is that entire building LEGO or is it shared with other companies? http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&sourc...sa=N&tab=wl Edited February 1, 2010 by BlueDragonZ Quote

BlueDragonZ Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 It's just that they have spontaneous bursts of stocks of Lego, and then they wait until their bone dry of sets before they restock again. Most of the stores during christmas was like this. Zellers for example got a huge supply of lego during november. After that shippment, they stopped receiving lego and stock started decreasing and still has not been restocked today... Quote
The Legonater Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Ya thats what i said. Their selection may not be the greatest but its OK (still less than average zellers) during Xmas. They still have separatist shuttle & vader fighter for $33.94 and hailfire droids and spider droids at my supstore. Ditto that. My local superstore has next to no LEGO in stock, but it does have the above, plus Anikan's Starfigter Quote
BlueDragonZ Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Ditto that. My local superstore has next to no LEGO in stock, but it does have the above, plus Anikan's Starfigter It is kind of weird how they still have hailfire droids and ankin fighter. I saw anakin fighter a while ago too when all other retailers and legoshop are already sold out. Both those sets are rapidly increasing in value getting to $30-50 US now. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) There are a few other stores where you can find Lego at as well: Lasting Toys in Mississauga London Toy Shoppe in London, Ont. Miss Tiggy Winkles stores in the Ottawa area Winners (haven't seen much there lately, but sometimes get lucky) I was in the Square One Zellers in Mississauga and they were stacked with all the new 2010 sets. One whole aisle. The Loblaws near me has hardly anything. The new Tow Truck is there but it is $21.99! And I would think there are more than 2 employees at Lego Canada Edited February 4, 2010 by legomaniac83 Quote

Unfortunatley, all the toy stores you provided are mostly in ontario except for winners. Theres also Sears Outlet. Sometimes you can get cracy deals similar to winners. There are only 2 stores here in British columbia -Shamryn Hobbies in New Westminister -Toy Traders in Langley (very far from the lowermainland ) Quote
tedbeard Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 There are only 2 stores here in British columbia-Shamryn Hobbies in New Westminister -Toy Traders in Langley (very far from the lowermainland ) Uhm, you do realize there is more to British Columbia than Greater Vancouver right? How about Kaboodles which has stores in Vancouver and Victoria. Here in Victoria there is also Cherry Bomb Toys, BC Shavers and Hobbies, Buddies Toy Store in Oak Bay. I'll have to let people from Nanaimo, Kelowna, Prince George and elsewhere fill in their stores. p.s. Langley is part of the "Lower Mainland". Quote
