The Legonater Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Though I haven't seen any of the above mentioned sets, my local TRU does have the Summer Toy Story sets. Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Toys R Us at Yonge and Eglinton has only three new sets, Undercover Cruiser, The City Truck and Lavatraz. However, TRU at Dufferin Mall has almost all of the summer sets. I'll update this list with names shortly: 5984 - $54.99 (Expect a review soon) 8076 - $26.99 3180 - $26.99 8896 - $12.99 8863 - $79.99 3181 - $54.99 5983 - $39.99 8191 - $69.99 8077 - $69.99 8078 - $129.99 5868 - $39.99 5892 - $79.99 Along with a few others I forgot to check. Legorski Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) If you guys haven't heard yet, Canada's getting a Lego Store... In Clagary... Read at Brickset Here Edited May 17, 2010 by Legorski Quote
Alex the Great Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 That's great news, though I don't live near Calgary, it probably means more to come. Quote
The Legonater Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Sweet! I go to Calgary to visit family once every year, so this is great! Just noticed this... "The Lego Group is opening 15 brand retail stores this year, with plans for even more in years to come. Rest assured that many major metro areas lacking a Lego Store will soon get one. I think it would be the next logical step for Lego to open stores in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. We'll have to see what happens." That's great! Quote

Sir Fred Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I'd be absolutely ecstatic if Moncton got one, but I'm thinking that the closest store to the Maritimes will be one in Montreal. Still, not that bad if we get Montreal, it's at least considerably closer than Calgary. Quote

Legorski Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I was at the TRU at Sherway, and I found the new World Racers sets! I bough the smallest one, as I am low on cash atm, But I saw three of the sets out on the shelves. I'll be posting a review sometime today, so if you live near Sherway, and want the new world racers sets, get to it! Quote

Legorski Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Nice! I didn't recall hearing before that they were replacing Racers- does anyone know why? I don't think that they are replacing the Racers, I think that the World Racers are more like an add-on to the theme, Quote

That was neat, and the game that went with it was fun too- I'm glad they brought back a revamped version of it. Quote
Legorski Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Any news on collectable Minifigure availability in Canada? With any luck I'll check my local TRU over the weekend, I report back then, Quote
The Legonater Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Any news on collectable Minifigure availability in Canada? With any luck I'll check my local TRU over the weekend, I report back then, Well, I checked last week, and my TRU doesn't have them. As far as I know, none of the Brickset Candiands have them either . Quote
ZO6 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I was in my local TRU (Newmarket, Ontario) again today to check up on set availability. New since last weekend: 8078 Portal of Atlantis 5868 Ferocious Creatures 5892 Sonic Boom 3181 Passenger Plane 3221 LEGO City Truck No collectible minifigures, Kingdoms, or Star Wars. Quote
Piratedave84 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) I am glad to announce that I have picked up a set of minifigs at my local Wal-Mart (I live in the Ottawa region). They had 9 boxes (that I could see) all of which were pretty much untouched! I used the touch and feel method and got 13 out of 16. I have printed the North America codes from a post on Brickset and am going back tomorrow for the last three. YEY!!!!! Pirate Edit : Went back this morning, now have all 16 .... SOOOOOOO nice!!!! Iron Moose Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I've purchased a few of the Minifig Collection at a Wal-Mart in Montreal - $2.86 apiece. Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Found some Kingdoms sets at Mastermind Toys. Quote
prateek Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I've purchased a few of the Minifig Collection at a Wal-Mart in Montreal - $2.86 apiece. Do they have them sitting in a box in the toy section or at the cashier? Quote
Iron Moose Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Do they have them sitting in a box in the toy section or at the cashier? Some were in the LEGO aisle, and some were in the toy department overstock aisles. It looked to be about five or six cases worth. Quote
dr_spock Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I've purchased a few of the Minifig Collection at a Wal-Mart in Montreal - $2.86 apiece. Cool. Which figure did you get? Do they have different bar codes? Quote
Iron Moose Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 If it's the same as the ones in Quebec, $2.86 piece. Quote
Iron Moose Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I haven't opened them yet, but they do each have two barcodes - one common and one that appears to be unique to specific figures. Quote
