The Legonater Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I went to Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga today and Wal-Mart had the Minifigs in stock. Looked like whole case, but they were on clip-strips. The Zellers in the mall also had a great selection of Lego, but no minifigs. Also the Wal-Mart at Heartland Shopping Centre (Mavis and Britannia) did not have any of the figs, but the Lego was stocked. The Toys R Us at Hurontario and Eglington did not have figs either. I didn't pick any up as I am waiting on a case, but I can tell you that it is hard to "feel" out what's inside...... I just went into the city, and my TRU still didn't have them. Something tells me they're only being shipped to the TRU on the other side of the city... Quote

ZO6 Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 As per usual, I stopped into TRU today. I was happy to see they had the entire Kingdoms line for sale (save for the battle packs). They also had the final creator set (the blue truck with the atv), and the Toy Story promo with the little green alien. Now for the moment everyone has been waiting for... they had 2 boxes of the collectible minifigures! They apparently just got the boxes in within the past day or so, and from what I saw they are selling like mad. One box had about a dozen or so figures left, whereas the second box was mostly still full. I picked up a complete set for myself (just by comparing bar codes on the back, I didn't think TRU would have the figs so I didn't bother to bring a bar code sheet). The figures were being sold for 3 bucks a pack. Quote

This deal is good for instores and online. Its actually suppose to be 25% off and not 20% off. They sent an email earlier regarding these deals so you can't find them on the flier. If you print their email ad to their store, they may honour the 25% off deal. More info here. Quote

I only had a little money on me so I bought three, believing they were the skateboarder, nurse, and spaceman. It turned out it was the skateboard (I was right!) cheerleader and robot. I was close. The cheerleader and robot aren't bad (In fact, thr robot's great and I need more female hair pieces) but I was really hoping for the Nurse. Next time. Quote

I picked a few of the Collectible Minifigs up @ the Langford Wally World but I spoke to someone @ T&C who said they are not getting any because of the impending move to the new building. Apparently the ordering system will not send "special" product to locations that are about to be packed up and moved. The Langford store had them on wire racks at the end of one of the toy aisles (not, I recall, the LEGO aisle). They were pretty picked over when I got them over a week ago. As for TRU, nobody there has a clue what I am talking about. I'm starting to think only WM got them. BTW we discussed this on the VicLUG forum, are you not a member? Some of the other guys got a few extras and might be amenable to trades. Quote
Ricecracker Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I was at the TRU at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto earlier this week, and they were stocking the shelves with new Kingdoms, Space Police, Racers, World Racers and other new sets. No mini-figs yet. Surprisingly, there was a LEGO Rep there stocking the shelves alongside the TRU Employee. That is the second or third time I've seen her there. Quote

I talked to someone at TRU here, and I guess I got lucky because he knew exactly what I was talking about, and that Langford WM was the only store around who's gotten them in yet, and that they're also way sold out. And no, I'm not a member of Viclug, because I noticed the boards there were pretty slow, and I'm generally a minifig collector who waffles in and out of collecting, but I guess I should bite the bullet and join up, if only to make the Lego connections in the city. According to the guy i talked to who ran the number through his magic walmart gun, at my WM, the Minifigures are non-replenishable items, which means they were a one-time shot. So, for anyone else out there who wants to save themselves some driving around, call up your local walmart and have them run UPC0673 4191 3047 through their inventory gun, and they should be able to tell you whatever's going on with the Collectible minifigures in your area. What that means for us on the island, is that it sounds like that was it for Collectable Minifigs at Walmarts. And thanks for the welcome Tedbeard, I just fired off an email to join you guys..
