There was a Toy Story promo? The Alien Space Ship. 30070? I just read the review on this site and thought this was just a UK Tesco deal. Might have to go check this out! :classic:

will the set number be the same in Canada? or does it change? I went to Langley Toys R us yesterday and they didnt have any of these yet... no minifigures either

Also, the Abbotsford Walmart was out of minifigures all gone, not even a space on the shelf.

I haven't been able to find the collectible mini-figs in any local stores. I gave up and ordered them online from Mastermind Toy. Lego.com S@H appears to be sold out now. I have no idea what I'm getting, I guess it'll be a surprise. :classic:

I'll be honest- it will be a surprise untill you open them. The bags are so impeccable done that the best you can do when feeling them is vauge guesses. You can feel things like 'oh, long hair' or 'oh, a helmet' but it's next to impossible to find what exsactly they are. Based on my results, you have a 1 in 3 chance of guessing right. I just have to applaud LEGO of their well-done job.

You should definitely feel the bag to try to guess what's in it before opening it.

When I picked out my set of 16 (I checked to make sure I had different bar codes for each, but didn't have a cheat sheet with me) I opened them over the course of about an hour. I put on the television for some background entertainment and then got to work. I'd spend about 2 minutes feeling the contents of a bag before I was satisfied with my guess. I'd then extremely carefully slice it open and assemble the figure. The figures were very interesting to examine closely, and so I'd spend 5-10 minutes playing around with a figure before setting it aside to have a go at the next bag. I successfully identified 14 of the 16 minifigures. I was sure that the zombie was the crash test dummy, and I got the clown wrong as well (I don't remember who I thought it was).

So anyways, to all those out there - have fun opening your minifigures and consider yourself quite lucky to have gotten any at all. :classic:

I'm going to try the groping test before I open them. I have a copy of the bar code sheet as a last resort. I just received an email that the mini-figs are Canada Post's hands. It'll be fun like opening Christmas presents. :classic:

Has anybody spotted them at TRU yet?

I have, actually today, I went to the TRU by Eglinton and Hurontario, they had two boxes put out.

Legorski,

Weekly visit to the TRU in Newmarket today - they had two fresh boxes of minifigures out. I picked out a handful of doubles that I wanted and helped a few kids find specific figs that they were looking for. I will not be surprised if they are all sold out by the end of the day, the figs are just flying off shelves.

Stopped into the Wal-mart as well but they didn't have any minifigures, the rest of their Lego selection was a bit weak too.

For those looking to pick up minifigures, call your local TRU and Wal-mart daily. Be prepared to drive out to the store immediately if they have any in stock because they will sell out in not time at all. I've been lucky to find two batches of figs at my local TRU, so hopefully that means other stores around the country get multiple shipments as well. Happy hunting everyone!

I'm pretty sure several have. Unfortunatly, I check my local TRU again and they were already all sold out, as well was Wal-Mart. Oh well, that just gives me time to save up for everything elsedefault_tong.gif .

I chanced upon two boxes of those minifig packets in TRU Metropolis in Vancouver. I was being polite to the couple who were ahead of me and hogging the shelf for quite some time, so I walked around, only to find all of them GONE later.

Sheesh.

BTW, the Lego city yellow truck is out in TRU Whalley today, just in case if anyone's looking for it.

When I went to the Moncton TRU on Friday, they had not gotten any new stock for a couple weeks. However the Wal-Marts in Moncton still have a surprising number of the Minifigures left.. Just don't get your hopes up on finding a Forestman or a Tribal Hunter.

Did you find them today? I was there on thursday last week and they had space for 2 boxes but all sold out.

I picked up 2 Cheerleaders (bringing my total to 16) from Toys R Us in Vaughn Mills on Saturday. They had a couple of boxes up by the register and a number of bags in a bin near the LEGO aisles. They're going fast so get them while you can! Walmart's prices were a bit better though ($2.86 vs. $2.99).

Half a box of Minifigs left at the Victoria TRU, at the front counter, with a 4 per customer limit.

They're going quickly.

I was wondering! I was watching a movie with my sister in the basement, and everything started rumbling and shaking. There is a lot of construction going on down the road, and I figured it was some heavy machinery driving by. I quickly ran to look out a window, but there wasn't any sign of a vehicle capable of making the house shake. I've wondered since then what caused the shaking, so thanks for clearing that up.

I was in a meeting. It was cool seeing the tile ceiling shake. I ducked under the table as there was a ceiling mounted projector above me.

I wasn't in the right part of the country to feel it, but I felt the effects, as in the Help Desk I work in that gets most of it's calls from Ottawa was really slack.

Well they're back on the shelves today just only at Metropolis TRU. I came, saw two fresh boxes, had NOBODY to compete with, and spent some fifteen good minutes to get one complete set.

Talk about a stroke of good luck! Me happy! :classic:
