IAmWillGibson Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Oh no, I need to keep my beads pealed for Series 3... I've been quite able to find S2 pretty much everywhere I look, but I'm pretty paranoid about S3 for some reason. Probably fear of the demand/supply yo-yo. Either way, we shall see when Chapters gets 'em. I only ever saw 2 packets at TRU. Quote
Sir Fred Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Alright, so series 3 soon then unless the roads between Atlantic Canada and Ontario got washed out more than I thought they did... Can't wait to get my hands on some of those whacky Ninjago sets either! Quote
The Legonater Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Series 3? I haven't even seen Series 2 anywhere yet! Quote

Do you have any solid evidence? I'm pretty sure that Canadian MSRP will be $2.99 CAD and most retailers will stick with that. I beleve that the US MSRP is still $1.99 USD and that the US TRUs just raised their price to take advantage of the demand (US TRUs seems to do this more Canadian TRUs). Also, I'm fairly sure that Fred Meyer (chain in the US where Series 3 was first found) is still selling at $1.99 USD. Of course, this is all conjecture. Edited December 17, 2010 by autobrick Quote

They said January 2011 ...AND that the packs have indeed been raised to 2.99... 2.99!?! Those mjyer or whatever stores seem to been the only place to sell 1.99 packs Oh well... maybe they'll go down... or not...maybe...hopefully... Quote
autobrick Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) here is my evedence from brickset: ... ... ... ... I saw that on Brickset too. Hopefully, there was some sort of miscommunication; let's wait until we get more news, from a reputable source. I'm sure Lego isn't foolish enough to raise prices to $3.99, because the demand (especially by casual fans & parents, the biggest purchasers) is going to fall sharply. Even AFOLs, who are the most resistant to price increases, are saying that $3.99 is too high a price. Of course, the good part will be that Series 3 will be abundant in supply and you will be able to get all the minifgures you want, if you can afford them! However, I'm still confident that Canadian MSRP will be at $2.99. Mostly Edited December 17, 2010 by autobrick Quote
Ogre Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Series 3? I haven't even seen Series 2 anywhere yet! I don't know where in Canada you are but, Series Two is still available online from Mastermind Toys, if you don't have a store near you. They're currently "buy three, get a fourth free" but of course, they're blind packaging. Also, I notice that the stores are running low, so I don't know how long they'll be available online. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 .....However, I'm still confident that Canadian MSRP will be at $2.99...... Mostly If they are $2.99 in the US, I can pretty much guarantee they will be $3.99 here. Every other piece of Lego is a cheaper price in the US, why not these? Man I remember when we used to get a small set for that price........ Quote

Every other piece of Lego is a cheaper price in the US, why not these? Man I remember when we used to get a small set for that price........ If the US MSRP was raised to $2.99 (from the original $1.99), then I would agree that the minifigs would be $3.99 in Canada. However, we don't know if A) the US MSRP was raised, or if B) stores are simply taking advantage of the heightened demand. Keep in mind that the minifigures were already very popular, and demand has only increased due to three things: the Christmas season, exclusivity to TRU & Fred Meyer and being brand new. Stores can charge extra, and people will still buy them. Personally, I think we are looking at situation B, and that prices will go back to the original MSRP once we see wider distribution. As for the rumours regarding the employee at Legoland California, let's pray to the Lego Gods wait until we get more information. Keep in mind that there could have been a miscommunication, or that $2.99 is the sale price just for Legoland California (never been there, but since when has a theme park have cheap prices?). Besides, it raises the question: Why didn't Lego increase the US MSRP before they started to sell in the US? Quote

lowbike1 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 somebody posted a while back that they heard that Abbotsford was getting a Lego store, I just found out that Abbotsford is getting a new mall, supposedly going to be the biggest one in BC, so it makes sense that the new lego store could be in it... just thought I would throw that out there Quote
r4-g9 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 series three are now on lego.com, and they are $2.99 cad, and $2.99 usd. Quote
