Ricecracker Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I heard about that, but I wasn't totally sure if it was confirmed... It is. Quote
prateek Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 However, everyone should try London Drugs. Though an underdog for buying LEGO, it is best place for rare sets and great deals for me I've heard of that place, but there are no London Drugs stores in Toronto. Only if Shoppers Drug Mart had Lego... Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I've heard of that place, but there are no London Drugs stores in Toronto. Only if Shoppers Drug Mart had Lego... No way! I did not know that! I remember SDM having the bohrok va sets a long time ago... Quote
r4-g9 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) Can be found at Wal*Mart Supercentre at Deerfoot Outlet. Just under 8 boxes worth, 3 of which were picked through. Bump patterns are different between the two lot numbers I found embossed on the bags (544BO and 444BO) and within 544BO found two different bump patterns for the same figure (Elf). The assortment seemed different as well...3 in one, 2 in another, and then a single (444BO). Looks like mileage will vary. did you take all the elfs? Edited January 25, 2011 by r4-g9 Quote
lowbike1 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Superstore in Abbotsford has Lotso's dumptruck and the army men sets on half price right now, not sure if all superstores have them for that price, might be worth a look Quote
winbrant Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 (edited) did you take all the elfs? No...I gave up at six (return a favour for a friend)...the fingers were getting sore...Just stuck with the unopened boxes thinking that someone already pillaged the open boxes as the first open box did not have any elves (as far as I could tell...took me a bit to figure it out and I wasn't going to return to an open box given the time). And, given the randomness it was getting confusing. Did manage a gorilla, cyborg, snowboarder, and hula for the kids. The samurai, fisherman, space alien, tennis player, and tribal chief got easier to tell by feel over time Just an observation, the bump pattern was very close to the rapper, no matter what the lot number was...only difference was by feel for a ghetto-blaster. As of this writing no doubt they will be out by day's end. When I was there a lady saw what I was up to and mentioned her son and his friends were waiting for these to show up, having missed their "wants" and the LEGO store earlier this month. And, given the randomness it was getting confusing. Did manage a gorilla, cyborg, snowboarder, and hula for the kids. Edited January 25, 2011 by winbrant Quote

prateek Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Great, but I'd rather wait till series 4 to use my gift card Quote
prateek Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) do they let you choose the four? You order that 4-pack online, so you can't choose. Edited January 27, 2011 by prateek Quote

The Legonater Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Can be found at Wal*Mart Supercentre at Deerfoot Outlet. Just under 8 boxes worth, 3 of which were picked through. About those supercenters. I've been to the one is Airdree a few times, but that doesn't really provide a good picture- generally, how are the LEGO sections in them? Quote
winbrant Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 About those supercenters. I've been to the one is Airdree a few times, but that doesn't really provide a good picture- generally, how are the LEGO sections in them? I've found they are the same as the regular Wal*Marts...what makes them "Supercentre" is the grocery section. And, living in Airdrie, I frequent this one often. I've also seen in the past that the Supercentres will receive stock before the regular Wal*Marts. I was at the Chapters/Indigo here in Mount Royal, Calgary during lunch and they had the minifig cases on the counter. They said, and it might be because it was an Express location so space was a constraint, they would only put another box out if this was was empty...figure the main locations might put out a decent number...I recall Chapter's in Crowfoot had 5-6 cases of Series 2 out before Xmas. IAmWillGibson Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 For anyone downtown Toronto, Toys Toys Toys seems to have gotten their supply of Series 3, although they led out of the gate grossly overcharging for them, at $4.99 each at the Eaton Centre location. At least with Series 2 they started at $3.99 [although they're now inexplicably $6.99 each]. Different T3 locations charge differently for the same stuff, though, so if you're desperate, look around. The Indigo upstairs has Series 3 for $2.99, though, so go there first. Loose in a tube thing near the Kids' section checkout. I'd assume Masterminds around town may also have them, as places here tend to get stuff at the same time, although I didn't check there. While I'm on it, is a new 8823 Mistlands Tower worth 80 bucks? I'm really bad at adjusting LEGO values over time, so I can't really calculate if that's appropriate inflation or just more T3 gouging. Quote

There is a MISB one on BL, located in Canada, which is $55 Quote
legomaniac83 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Toys Toys Toys overprices everything and its amazing that the chain can even stay afloat. I have never bought anything there, and I wonder why people do, when for instance in Square One, you can go to WalMart around the corner and get it at least 20% cheaper. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) Not a chance. There is a MISB one on BL, located in Canada, which is $55 Ooh, they have an actual store. Maybe I'll have to pay them a visit and see what I can see. (I hates me some shipping costs.) And re: T3, it's mostly about selection of certain rarities, and randomly, because their costs are so out-of-butt, you CAN find deals. I got the Army of Vikings a few weeks ago for $35, which isn't a steal by any stretch, but is certainly on the low end of BL pricing. And having worked there, I can say they effectively prey on impatient moms and Grandmas. It's kinda gross. But that's a whole other thing that this isn't the board for. Jeff VW Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Mastermind sent an email out last week saying they had series 3 in stock.. And if anyone is out in the St. Jacobs area the Toy Building Zone has LOTS of series 3 figs.. And by lots, I mean they will not be running out any time soon.. http://www.toybuildingzone.com/ Also starting this weekend, there will be a Lego display put on by the Ontario Brick Builders right next door. This display will hopefully be on display till the end of March (Unless the space gets rented out) for more info on the OBB: http://ontariobrickbuilders.blogspot.com/ Jeff VW LEGO Ambasador: WHaCK-O-LuG Member of Ontario Brick Builders (OBB), rtlToronto. blueandwhite Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I'm still wondering if BricksNorth is going to be happening or not. I remember there being an announcement for a Canadian fan convention this summer but there doesn't appear to be any follow up information. Did anybody even win the logo contest? Given that most events have registration months in advance I've kind of given up hope on this one. Quote

Ricecracker Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) I've heard it is likely going to happen in some form or another this year, and 99% happening next year. I'll let you know when I know more. Edited January 29, 2011 by Ricecracker Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Glad to hear it. I was really looking forward to BricksNorth when it was first announced. I've been eagerly awaiting news on this for a while now. Quote
sok117 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I went to sherway the other day, and I think the lego store will be right next to the bay, it's been covered in wood and says "exciting new retailer", I then went to the toys'r'us and was disappointed only to find imperial v-wings and battle of genosis for a whopping $49.99 which is crazy! I wanted the batttlepacks but walked out with a v-wing, not to impressed with it though , oh, and no series 3 minifigs Quote
prateek Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Battle of Geonosis is $49.99... And I can't believe they still don't have the BPs! I think I'll just wait until the June wave to visit TRU. Quote

Yeah the battlepacks really made me mad, whats with having only two of the 2011 sets? Edited January 30, 2011 by sok117 Quote
