Is that a regular keychain that they now have available ?

or is that a special Canada Day promotion?

I WANTIE

I don't know if it's a 'regular stock' item, or a special promo but, I saw quite a pile of them. I think it's pretty sweet. With that massive 'tag', it's almost like two key chains in one, for the same price as any other minifig key chain ($5.49CDN).

They still had lots of the Canadian Minifig there today.

I just updated the PAB Inventory at BrickBuildr for Sherway today.

Another Pro-Tip for people - there is occasionally some extra pieces in back that's not on the shelf, so don't be shy and ask what's in back! As of Saturday they had 1x2 clears, dark red? and medium blue, 1x1 clear round plate.

Thanks for the heads up...had a staff person pull the boxes of medium blue and dark red out of the back for me. The problem with doing this is that I felt guilty about stacking carefully for maximum density with the staff standing by waiting to return the box to the back so I just scooped up handfuls and called it a day.

Dark tan 1x2 Tiles...yaaay!!

The BAM buckets also had some newly arrived Series 1 parts:

  • Cheerleader (no pom poms)
  • Luchadora (no cape)
  • Spaceman (helmet and trans-clear visor)

Oh cheerleaders!

Do they still have the get a free BAM /w $75 purchase?

For future reference you can scoop out the good stuff from the back into another cup, and slowly building that into you quasi-solid PAB cup (thus not holding up the staff).

but make sure you fit it all in otherwise they'd be annoyed ;)

No sweat on the update.

I didn't notice the free BAM offer...I was just shy of the amount...had I known about the offer, I'm sure I could have found an additional item or two...but I'm trying to save myself for a trip to the US next month.

This was my PAB pickup:

Lego-PAB-201107Jul05.jpg

I also asked if I could throw in a few minifg pieces and they were cool with that, so I was able to get a couple Series 1 pieces.

What's interesting about my load if anyone is interested, is that it's stacked mostly with small pieces which brings the value up a lot...and the Brick 1x2's are not the greatest value except at the S@H price for the trans-clear without the bottom tube. However, looking at the following post which from my reading has the technique for the greatest number of 2x4's packed in a cup at 169:

Packing Technique for 169 2x4's in a PAB Cup

...this generates a "stud count" of 8 x 169 = 1352 with proper stacking.

With my bulk handful stacking: 2 x 364 = 728...this comprised maybe 50-75% of my PAB cup, with the other bulky stuff comprising the rest (i.e. the DBG containers)...not too bad a mix though...and the Dark Tan tiles will make nice floors when complemented by the Reddish Brown 1x4 tiles from last month!

Was at the Sherway Gardens LEGO store this morning.

No 'Brick Calendars' (BOOOO!), no catalogues (BOOOO!), but they did have this little guy:

Canada01.jpg

They also still have the 'Alien Conquest' battle pack in stock and MMV (for anyone still looking for a copy).

Happy Canada Day weekend!

I am a Canadian living in the US. I sure would love to get my hands on one of those key chains. If I sent you the money to cover the purchase, postage and your time and trouble would you be willing to send one to me?

Tim? Is it you? Perhaps another poster to be sure. Bot, yes, I am Canadian and full of it sometimes, calling a Canadian to proud is like saying peanut butter is made from peanuts.

Sherway Gardens eh, I'm right around the corner, tell me newcomer, I'm one too here, will you be at Brickfete this 29th day of July in TO?

I'm not going to say 'yes' until I can actually make it back out to Sherway and make sure they still have the key chain (I live at the other end of the city).

I'll see what I can do though.

Added 1 x 8 tiles in black, Red 2 x 2 tiles are now in the back... I did not have the time to compare everything.. But that one was very obvious..

Oh, and that key chain I posted earlier? LEGO's D2C line of 'Destination' key chains. Should be popping up all over the globe.

How much did you pay for that wrapping paper?

Sorry, forgot to include that. It's $3.49, plus tax (of course). :classic:

Do you have any more information about the 'Destination' line of key chains? i did a quick search and nothing came up.

It would be nice if they had key chains for countries all over the world (and even nicer if they were released as regular minifigs as well).

Unfortunately, what I wrote is all I know. I didn't really think to ask any more questions about them, because I had them in my hot little hands.

HEHE

I bought the wrapping paper too

I think I'll use it and wrap up some CMF gifts. Cause redundancy amuses me.

I also got the Canadian key chain - thanks for the heads up Ogre!

Now if only they'd get the Green Dragon Knight battle packs.

You're welcome.

I'd love to see a return of the Kingdom battle packs, too (with all previous 'issues' resolved, of course). For some reason, this 'Kingdoms' line has me REALLY wanting to do some serious army building...not that I can AFFORD any "serious army building", but, that's beside the point.

Hahah I know what you mean.

I had to wean myself off army building, I had a pretty sizable Fantasy Era army (Blue guys), yet I never used it once

I didn't even assemble them all and display them ... /le sigh

YOu know what, I should build a Keep for Brickfetefor these guys...

Anyways, While the red guys are pretty nice, I love the Dragon Knights though... 'thankfully' there's no quick way to build an army of them.

$5 bucks a pop, with no shield nor armour?

I think not!

maybe if I was building an Army of Squires!

I appreciate it. I get homesick whenever I see something Canadian.

Hey, How's it goin' eh. Are any of you Canuck Brickers going to be attending Brickfete at the end of the month in Toronto?

Yes. Read back through the last few pages to see.
