Ogre Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 $5 bucks a pop, with no shield nor armour? I think not! maybe if I was building an Army of Squires! You just said "quick", not "reasonable". Hey, How's it goin' eh. Are any of you Canuck Brickers going to be attending Brickfete at the end of the month in Toronto? I'm hoping to make it out for the public day, if possible. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 You just said "quick", not "reasonable". I'm hoping to make it out for the public day, if possible. Awww that's too bad, you were coming for the whole weekend, I was hoping to see your Armies. haha I thought 'reasonable' was assumed? Quote
sok117 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Shoot, I think I might be in America when Brickfete roles around, we'll see though... Quote

I have some pics over in the 'show your army' thread. Not recently updated, unfortunately. And...I NEVER assume with 'reasonable'. LOL Just take a look at some of the armies posted on here and you quickly understand why that is. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Sok, Sorry to hear you might not be able to make it There's always next year! Ogre, Yeah I saw some of your pictures on the show your army thread, but it's one thing to see pictures, it's another to see it in PERSON. haha 'reasonable' might have to be redefined. '20' battle packs seem perfectly reasonable compared to say, a Lexus IS full of battlepacks, followed by a minivan. Quote

I will at Brickfete for the weekend with the missus. Should be interesting as the missus has never been to a lego con. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I will be commuting to Brickfete. Hope to see everyone there. Quote
Ogre Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Just wondering: any of my fellow Canucks STILL not received their summer 2011 catalogue, or their latest issue of 'Club' magazine? Canada Post is REALLY starting to get on my last friggin' nerve. Quote
ZO6 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Just wondering: any of my fellow Canucks STILL not received their summer 2011 catalogue, or their latest issue of 'Club' magazine? Canada Post is REALLY starting to get on my last friggin' nerve. I still haven't received any of the mail from during the strike period, which is very annoying indeed. My poor Club magazine and catalogue are still floating around our there somewhere. I tried requesting another catalogue incase the other one remains MIA, but the service on the Lego site seems messed. Every time I fill out the catalogue request, it keeps saying that I haven't entered my province. I haven't checked to see if just this Mac is acting dumb or if it's a widespread issue. Edit - Well, here I am a couple minutes later having walked over to check the mail box, and in my hand I have the catalogue. It doesn't have any of the most recent SW stuff or NinjaGo, but it does have most of the rest of the sets to have already come out this year. Oh, and I love the 'Free shipping and free Kingdoms set with orders of $75 or more' on the front - a deal which expires today (Not that I didn't already know about the deal of course, but others who rely on the catalogue for such a deal would be SOL). Toadtorrent Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) Bills? Check. Catalogue? Check! ...bamboo at the Sherway store...PAB journey is pending methinks. Sherway PAB Inventory Edited July 18, 2011 by Toadtorrent Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 OH Bamboo! Just in time, I'm starting to run low Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 So I guess we know where (one of?) the new stores will go: http://www.fairviewmall.ca/en/directory/Pages/ComingSoon.aspx "Stay tuned as we announce when LEGO will be opening on the lower level near the Food Garden!" Quote

Wooo! Based on the other stores with dates listed, it looks like it'll come in late September or October. I wonder what they'll call it, considering the Sherway store is the Toronto store. North York, maybe? Quote
The Legonater Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Well that's not really fair, having it so close to Toronto. The LEGO Stores should be more branched out, at least untill we get a decent number. Quote

LEGO's going at this from a business prospective, and Toronto is clearly one of the larger markets in Canada. Quote
prateek Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Right beside the food court, eh? I'm thinking it's going to be close to the Foot Locker, since there is a vacancy there. Quote
sok117 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 HAHAHA, now all you east-enders can quit complaining . This is great news though! Quote
BrickArt!san Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I'm still waiting for a LEGO store in London. Some day... hopefully. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I'm not complaining. I like the fact Fairview is closer and easier to get to for me. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I thought the Sherway store was called "Sherway store" ? But "Scarbrough" or "North York" would work. unless the 3rd store is also in Scarbrough (say at Scarbrough Town). Anyone else find it poorly thought out to put the store next to the food court... where kids could be all messy from eating then touching the PAB bins?!?!? heh, I finally got my catalog... Quote
Rook Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) I hate to say it but Scarborough Town Centre is probably a little too ghetto for a Lego Store. North York would work. I would assume between Allan & 401 to Leslie & 401 would about right. Even Markham or Richmond Hill would probably be more likely than Scarborough. There’s a great old free game from the late 90’s called Dope Wars® and they even have Scarborough as one the good places to sell drugs (along with Jane & Finch area). I’m going to go score a brick… at the Lego Store. Edited July 22, 2011 by Rook Quote
Toadtorrent Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Just in time, I'm starting to run low ...just picked up a bunch in a cup and some 1 x 3's for my current project. In the back, the store still has ready for the picking: Dark Red Brick 1 x 2 Medium Blue Brick 1 x 2 Reddish Brown Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dark Tan Tile 1 x 2 with Groove Dark Bluish Gray Tile, Modified 1 x 1 with Clip Quote

They are actually renovating STC to be on par with Fairview. Every single mall is doing that now Quote
