The Legonater Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) I don't follow this thread as closely I used to, but is anyone else finding Augest sets now? I've spotted the Ewok Set, Dathomir Speeder, Podracers and Infiltraiter. Edited August 6, 2011 by The Legonater Quote
Ogre Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I don't follow this thread as closely I used to, but is anyone else finding Augest sets now? I've spotted the Ewok Set, Dathomir Speeder, Podracers and Infiltraiter. All the summer sets are supposed to now be available via S@H and I believe they are at all the major retailers now, too. I know that even Mastermind Toys has them, since I just received their email notification the other day about the new sets being 'in stock'. Quote
ZO6 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I was at the TRU in Newmarket today (Ontario), and they had most of the latest summer sets. Well, seems as thought they've already sold out of a number of the Star Wars ones, but there was still a good selection across all the themes. Quote
Ogre Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Had a chance to pick up the Pirate Advent Calendar yesterday. Still waffling on it though. The 'completist' part of me says 'get it', but the rational part of me says 'you already own everything that comes with it'. Decisions, decisions... Quote
Fives Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'm planning on being at the Sherway store tomorrow to buy some of the new SW sets. Gonna get the Dathomir speeder, Geonosis set, the podracers, Darth Maul's ship, and the Frigate. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Went to Sherway Gardens today and picked up 852948 Female Minifigure Magnet set for $3.48!. Thought it was a steal of a price. Happy Hunting! Quote

dragunov Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Well, I'm not from canada, but what is it like there? What's the snow like? We seldom get it here. Oh and incase your wondering I'm from the land of fish, chips and poor weather. Quote

Oh and incase your wondering I'm from the land of fish, chips and poor weather. That sounds like Newfoundland. Snow is dependent on which part of the country you're in. Some parts have more than others. Canada is the second biggest country in the world. We have the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I was there today and missed that. Do the figs come off the base? Not sure - haven't opened it yet. It does look like it to me, and I have seen other pictures on the net with those figues off the magnets (eBay for example), so I would assume they would..... Quote
Ogre Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 If anybody is close to Mississauga (or maybe not so close, but able to get there), you really need to go check out "Lasting Toys" at 2410 Dunwin Dr (they also have a Bricklink store but, I notice that they don't have their full inventory on there). LEGO and pretty much nothing else (anything 'else' is LEGO-related). I've been out there the last two Saturdays and really, the selection of stuff they have is just STUNNING. Old, rare, books, Lifelites, plush, grab bags... I'll be SHOCKED if you walk out with nothing. Oh and they have more key chains than I think I've ever seen in one place before...lots of old ones, too. www.lastingtoys.com Mon.-Thur. 10am - 5pm Fri. 10am - 7pm Sat. 10am - 5pm Sun. Closed That's my "good deed" for the day. Quote

Of course, you're gonna pay a bit more than what the retail was when it was still in production (sometimes just a little more, sometimes quite a bit depending on the set) but they have quite a lot of old sets also. Doesn't come cheap but it's to be expected for sets that are discontinued. I've bought a few discontinued sets from there myself. I was quite shocked the first time I went to that place, to see the huge abundance of Lego in that little store. Most recently, I bought the 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft for $50.One odd thing with them though...they sell the modular houses that are still in production (Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium, Pet Shop) at $220, which was the retail price of the Green Grocer. Meanwhile at TRU's website and Lego S@H, the regular retail for any of the current modular houses is $200. Still, a great place to visit. Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Does anyone know what is up with amazon.ca? They are charging ridiculous amounts for Lego...I mean..$90 for Plo Koon's Starfighter? Quote
Si-MOCs Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Does anyone know what is up with amazon.ca? They are charging ridiculous amounts for Lego...I mean..$90 for Plo Koon's Starfighter? It's not through Amazon - it's an independent vendor - so they're just selling it through Amazon's engine. So it's someone gouging trying to catch unsuspecting people Quote

Wish Amazon.ca was like Amazon.com...or that Amazon.com shipped toys to Canada. Quote
legomaniac83 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Mississauga WalMart at Mavis & Britannia had Series 5 in stock. There was one open box and 3 unopened. I bought one of the unopened boxes. They should be a most WM's this week....good luck! Quote

Canada_7 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted this in the actual Series 5 thread but should also post it here. Markville Mall Walmart in Markham, Ontario has cases of Series 5 Minifigures. They're not in the actual Lego aisle though (don't be fooled by that one empty box in that aisle). They're on a smaller shelf where they hold those smaller sets (the ones that sell for around $20 and under). If you're there you'll get what I mean. Quote
Jose Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 All Toys R Us (at least Vaughan Mills, Lawrance and Kitchener) are having a 20% discount on Lego City theme until the 25th, so final prices are similar to the ones in the states. I just grab today the 3677 for 139. Quote
Ricecracker Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I don't remember hearing anything official before now... Fairview's website lists that the store will be opening in October. Hope to see some of you guys there. Quote
Toadtorrent Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Cool...I'll definitely be there...can't say I'll be there in line for 3 hours...but I'll be there... Edited August 31, 2011 by Toadtorrent Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Series 5 CMFs also at the Eaton Centre Indigo, so they're probably going to be at most Chapters or whatever stores now or soon. They're $3.50 each there. I spent a couple of minutes groping the bags and scored a perfect 17 for 17 [2 boxers]. So that's neat! It's a good looking set. I just wish the Fitness Instructor's hair were a different colour. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Where in Indigo are they? Up in the kid's section, on the wall with the LEGO. There's sort of a smaller section with drawers of littler stuff back towards the corner. There were a bunch there, although it may only have been a case. I'm sure they'll get put in the larger displays where previous series have been shortly. Quote
