Where in Indigo are they?

They're usually in the Toys/Kids section, either near the cash or in a box near the other LEGO.

EDIT: The LEGO store at Sherway is already sold out of Series 5 minifigs.

Where in Indigo are they?

I was at the Dufferin Walmart and they were sold out of Series 5. The lady working the toy section laughed when she saw me as she recognized me spending some time picking out my Series 4 packs. The wife rolled her eyes and laughed. Apparently they have had them for about a half a week, but just sold out.

Off I go to the Indigo at Yonge-Eg based on their email news update of having Series 5 in the stores where they had a single fairly full box placed BEHIND the tellers upstairs near the toy section.:pir-sad::thumbdown:

SO...I went to TRU at Yonge-Eg, and they had 1 very picked over box on the desk in the electronic games area, and broken up loose packs scattered in the impulsive buy racks at the tills, with an additional heavily picked over box at the Customer Service/Checkout counter.

I spent a few minutes and got 14/16...couldn't find any snowboarders or lumberjacks...but I really don't think I'm going to be missing those.

I was hoping for a few graduates, but could only find 1. The feel test went pretty fast. This series has some really good custom/unique parts to identify the figurines:

  1. Gladiator - flat bladed sword was easier than the helmet
  2. Graduate - hat feels like a tile with small bowl plus the square tile
  3. Snowboard - the board is super easy to find
  4. Gangster - Hat
  5. Cave - club and bone
  6. Dragon Dude - tail piece
  7. Jane Goodall - Banana
  8. Eskimo - fishing rod with string
  9. Boxer - hat and gloved "hands" attached to body
  10. Clown - hat and pie
  11. Lumberjack - baseball hat and axe
  12. Dwarf - helmet with wings
  13. Aerobics Instructor - boombox
  14. Cleopatra - slope body...as easy to spot as the snowboard
  15. British Guard - lumpy hat
  16. Sherlock - magnifying glass

I don't remember hearing anything official before now... Fairview's website lists that the store will be opening in October. Hope to see some of you guys there. :sweet:

I will most definitely be there!

Oh...in addition...Mastermind Toys now has series 5 in stock with FREE SHIPPING to all Canadian addresses until Sept. 6, with NO MINIMUM PURCHASE REQUIRED. That's right...free shipping on ALL orders.

Great. Shall we camp out?

TRU @ Mayfair Mall in Victoria has CM Series 5 (or did two days ago when I picked some up). They also had a couple of reasonably full S4 boxes as well.

 I gave up there, I usually get my CMs at London Drugs or Downtown Chapters.

I think opening day is on a Friday and the special minifig set is on Saturday.

That would make sense, since that's how it was done for Sherway.

Oh...and I hear that they're still hiring...specifically looking for folks who are available M-F days. At least, that's the rumour, anyway. Friend of mine said she saw something posted on the construction wall where the store will be opening. I haven't been down in that area myself, so I can't confirm or deny but, I thought I'd pass on the info.

The 'grand opening' I believe is always a weekend - Fri-Sat-Sun.

With freebies every day.

If we're all going to camp out we should all wear something recognizable so we figure out who's who

Last I heard, there are eight or so positions still available. The sign on the storefront doesn't have much information either - it basically says to go to jobs.lego.com, where the only position available is Assistant Manager.

The Fairview store is now listed on stores.lego.com. Grand opening isn't until the end of October.

I have a box of "Hello, my name is" stick-on labels and a Sharpie marker. :classic:

Which day and time should we all meet up there?

I was actually going to wear one of those to Brickfete but, completely forgot in my rush to get out the door!

Looks like the opening of Fairview will be the weekend of the 21-23 of Oct...at least according to the info for the 'big build' listed on the October store calendar (posted on Flickr) Looks like this one will be Yoda.

*edit*

Also: Today is the last day for free shipping from Sears.ca!

$50 off $200 orders

If a LEGO store opens up here in Vancouver, which I think will happen soon, about how long are the line ups and what time should I be at the mall and in the line (if there is one)? I need to prepare myself. Its kinda weird how LEGO decided to open up a store in Calgary first.

I wouldn't count on one opening up this year. There's no definitive way of knowing how long the line will be, and I really don't think you need to prepare at all - especially not months in advance.

Could someone provide a link to the Pick-a-brick wall at sherway? I've seen it here before but I would like to see an updated version. Thanks in advanced! :classic:

"The Padawan Menace" DVD is available exclusively at Walmart. Price is something like $12.83, or something like that. Limited quantities. Includes minifig.

It hasn't been updated in a month.

Brickbuildr site

The Fairview store is on my home from work, maybe if it's not too awkward I can keep that one up to date. That's going to be dangerous for my wallet.

Thanks though! At least I have the website now to check on.
