Ricecracker Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Grand opening then on Fri, Sat, & Sun (30,1,& 2)? Grand opening is still the 21st-23rd of october. Quote
Ogre Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I've heard that the PaB wall at Fairview is larger than Sherway's, and it's a fairly basic selection right now. Yeah, I'm not surprised at the 'basic' selection. That's fairly typical for a new store, isn't it? So long as there's lots of tan, brown, green and bley, I'm happy. LOL Quote

Si-MOCs Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 From what I hear, I want to be at that Grand Opening this time. Quote
sok117 Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 The pick-a-brick at sherway is a lot different from the one shown on the website. Pieces of interest were 1x2x2 clear windsheilds and 1x1 stud bley clip-joints as well as some white wall pieces and 1x2 printed tiles with speedometers on them, or are they pressure gauges. They also had some cool grab-bags and full series 1 minifgures in the build a mini such as Native, Cavman, Luchador, and Ninja I think, I went last wednesday though, but I can't imagine much has changed. Ogre Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 From what I hear, I want to be at that Grand Opening this time. Oh yeah, it was SUCH a loss for you. I mean, after all, you were only at LEGO HEADQUARTERS at the time!!!! Lucky friggin' so-and-so... Quote

Ricecracker Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 wait, does Si-Mocs work at lego headquarters in Canada? legomaniac83 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I am subscribed to the Lasting Toys monthly newsletter and this caught my eye: Arriving in October:BrickForge – BrickForge creates minifigure accessories to customize your minifigs. Packages of accessories will be in the store in October. I haven't bought anything from BrickForge, but some of their items appeal to me. It will be interesting to see what accessories they will get. What do you think? Quote

sok117 Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Who said that he works for LEGO? Also, last time I checked, it was Megabloks that is based in Canada, not LEGO... It was a question, not a statement, Ogre said that Sci-mocs was at Lego Headquarters, so I asked. Lego isn't based in Canada, but they do have an office building up in Markham, which is what I assumed we were referring too. Quote

Si-MOCs Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 He was being sarcastic Actually I think he was being a Smart megablocks* :P *I love how RC's title isn't blocked -- No I do not work for LEGO. There *IS* a LEGO CANADA headquarters in Markham. I assume the Megablock headquarters is in Quebec somewhere... When Ogre said I was at Lego HQ last time (Sherway) - he means *the* Lego Headquarters - in Billund, Denmark: -- I Would be curious how much Brickforge stuff LT will carry... I'm not sure if it'll be enough for army builders... or maybe we'll be order through them? might be convenient to save on some shipping... Quote
prateek Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 They probably got authorized to be a reseller, so I don't think they would be selling individual weapons, just the packs. I might be wrong though. Quote
Rook Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Grand opening is still the 21st-23rd of october. Excellent. The Mrs. (Darth PLUR) and I will be there for Sunday. Who do I talk to/email about being an official volunteer this time? Edited September 28, 2011 by Rook Quote

ZO6 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 The Fairview store has the VW Camper on the shelves, and is now open. Awesome, glad that we've got two stores in the GTA now. I picked up the Camper bus at Sherway the Friday that it came out - it's even better in person than in pics (a bit more fragile than I'd like, but that's the price to pay for great looks)! Quote
appleb Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I was at the Fairview location today and they open. The actual grand opening will be October 21/22/23rd though. On those days they are giving out the exclusive minifigs and the t-shirts to the first 300 customers, plus kids can participate to help build a giant Yoda. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 He can bee a smartass Oh and I live in Fargo North Dakota so I'm practically Canadian, at least the US mistakes us fruit Canada quite often. ahh! you can say it too: Let me try: megablocks! Damn my plebeian powers. -- Consider yourself an honourary Canadian! You guys talk funny, just like us. Quote
prateek Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 For the people that have been, how's the PaB wall at Fairview? I might check it out before the grand opening. Oh and I live in Fargo North Dakota so I'm practically Canadian, at least the US mistakes us fruit Canada quite often. Fruit? Is this another one of your autocorrect mishaps? Quote
