Wink, wink, nudge nudge. Say no more.

Anyway, yeah, I'm gonna try and make the trip up there morning of the 25th. Fairview or Sherway, I'm unsure... I'm about halfway between both. I guess I could call ahead on Thursday to see if they have the stuff I'm looking for. I think Emerald Night is a pretty standard in-store item, but I'm not sure if the PF stuff needed to make it run is an always-on-the-shelf deal or not. I guess I could always just get the EN and order the engine online later that day. SO much shopping... so little money.

I plan on being at the Sherway store on the 25th after I drop the wife off at work. I'm really just interested in getting the 2nd Christmas set.

So to meet the $99 quota, I'm thinking one of the Winter Village sets is in order (since I have 0 of 3  ). Although if they have some of the newer 2012 town sets, I could be persuaded......

Last time I was at Sherway, they had the new city sets and the dino sets. The city sets included the large forest police station, the new police car, some of the other police sets, the ambulance, the garbage truck, and I think the car with camper, if I'm not mistaken.

Speaking of holiday sets, I got the Winter Bakery last year, and the Mrs and I built it together

last night. It was nice to do that together. She reserved time to put together the Holiday

post office, which we got at the end of October so we could get the Christmas gift set part 1.

So no sign of the Ninjago? Darn.

Dude, I just finished building the Bakery this afternoon, so the Winter Village is as built as it currently can be right now. A little ahead of schedule, but damn if they don't look lovely all together.

I'm sure most people here did as well, but I got a rather mysterious email from LEGO about shopping tomorrow. Not that the email itself is weird; I get them quite often, but the fact that it says there's a thing tomorrow, but goes on to say nothing at all about it... I got a little antsy because I actually can't make it to a store tomorrow unless I cancel a plan. I wish I knew what deals the thing was actually offering, to see if it was worth the effort of rearranging my schedule.

I doubt any of us Canadians would get an invitation. It's centered around the Thanksgiving holiday in the US.

Plus we already know it will be called "Brick Friday" here and the free Lego gift is probably Christmas set #2.

I'm not getting my hopes up - it's an American thing unfortunately.

I know of someone that got a VIP invitation to the LEGO store here in Calgary.

Take a screen shot of it please - I never got a Lego related email today......

i recived the same email, maybe there is something special coming out tomorrow? or there is some sort of secret sale tomorrow. also the lego store in calgary as of yesterday still doesn't have the new dino, or city sets. the black friday sale at the calgary lego store: when you buy something you get a peel card with 10-40% of your purches, if you spent over $99 you get a free christmas set, which is the one with the chimney and santa, and this ones not part of the black friday sale but it is still worthy of pointing out, if you spend over $75 you get a free pick a brick box to redeem from boxing day until march 31.

Clarification from Kevin Hinkle, LEGO North America Community Coordinator:

"Good Morning LEGO Fans,

Please allow me to provide a bit of information and clarification on the upcoming LEGO Brand Retail “Brick Friday” VIP Preshop event. As some of you are aware, a handful of fans who are in close proximity to our stores have received invitations to attend an exclusive “invitation-only holiday shopping event.” I have reached out to the Brand Retail team here in Enfield in order to obtain and share the following information to help clarify why some received these invitations and others did not:

Q: How were the VIP members chosen?

A: They were selected on the basis they were in the top 25 VIP

members for their local store based on engagement and purchases

since joining LEGO VIP and part of the top 5% of VIPs globally.

Q: What about VIP members who didn’t get an invite?

A: All LEGO VIPs will be allowed early access through Shop.LEGO.com

on Saturday, November 19th so even if they did not receive a LEGO

Store invite, they will still be able to shop early and receive all of the

Black Friday deals and promotions.

Q: What type of specials are the LBR Stores offering for “Brick Friday?”

A:

· 10% off of all purchases over $149.

· Free Gift with Purchase Holiday Set 2 (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=3300002-1) with purchases over $99‐ Limit one per person.

· Free Holiday Pick-a-Brick Box with purchases over $75.

· Pull Cards (scratch cards) for all guests, increments of 10%, 25% & 50% off entire purchase.

· The Holiday Gift with Purchase Set 1 (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=3300020-1) on sale for $9.99 during the event.

my local toys r us in calgary as of yesterday had all of the new dino sets, all of the currently realesed city sets, and all but two of the ninjago boxed sets.

The Toys-r-us in Hamilton, Ont has the Dino sets as well.

And I found the Red Cargo Train which I paid $175 for. Guess it is a intro to the set sale?

I didn't see the set on the website but there she was... 4 or 5 still there.

I didn't see the red cargo train at the ToysRus in St Catharines, I seen the old cargo train and the passenger train both

at regular price.

I did see that they had a bunch of the left over magnets from Bricktober...multiples of all 4 magnets in a bin, selling for just

under $4.00. A bit disapointing because they were giving them away last year...at least in St. Catharines.

Switching topics...

Did any of you get an invitation to the Shop@Home BrickFriday deals. Same deal as last Saturday,

$49 or more, free shipping; $99 or more, free gift; $149 or more, 10% off entire order. Offer

good all weekend (Nov. 25 - 28).

I tried to order just using the regular ordering system to no avail. I had to go through the

link provided by the email invitation, only then was I able to get the free shipping, free gift, and

the 10% off.

I am curious, did anyone order online and ship it to Canada. I decided to ship mine to my US Post Office Box.

:sadnew:

Just got back from the Lego Store in Sherway Gardens. There was quite a few people in line to get in when it opened at 10.

Managed to score the 10199 for $59! (Down from $79!) Also picked up the new camper set, the new Patrol car, and 40023 to get me over the $99 for Christmas Set #2.

There were some other good deals there also - the Emerald Night was 25% off to $97.

Also received 10% off at the cash on my whole purchase. No one had gotten the 50% off yet.

Happy shopping!

Nice. Thanks for posting. Almost makes me want to kick myself for not waiting until this week to buy the vw van for my dad at Sherway. Oh Well.

Hey dudes, I don't want this to be a breach of protocol here, and feel free to edit this post should it prove to be, but I was scouting Kijiji for chuckles and I saw this ad.

It ain't me, but now I'm curious... Where did this guy get the DC figures already? Have the released and I just didn't notice? Have these all been seen before and I'm just really late to the party?

TRU at Yonge/Eg in Toronto has lots of the Portal of Atlantis sets on for $65 (50% off)...pretty good deal...I'm still waffling on this one as the price is great, and the parts selection is pretty good, but I'm not a huge fan of the set and I have some pretty big Christmas orders in already so I'm trying to practice restraint...

Might have stolen them from a wearhouse. Or it's just a scammer. I had some guy try to scam a livingroom set from my in-laws this week and he wanted to pay via paypal rather than just doing a cash exchange.

Heads-up for anyone around the Eaton Centre downtown Toronto: Sears has a 50% off clearance thing right now, and I was in there on Monday to see a stack of LEGO which counted as clearance. So it was already a reduced price, and then 50% off that. I grabbed the Lunar Limo [which I've been after for a while] and it came to $22 after tax. There was also a Hyperspeed Pursuit, Spinjitzu Dojo, and Garmadon's Dark Fortress, which I left because I have to practice some self control. Which lasted until yesterday, when I went back to get the Dojo [those printed windows were too hard to deny, and luckily it was still there]. That came to something like 25 bucks.

Anyway, as of yesterday morning, there were still 2 Garmadon's Dark Fortresses that were marked down to 68 something, so with the sale they'd be about 35 bucks. No idea if they're still there now, but if you're eager, have a look.
