They have no plans to open anymore stores in Canada?? :oh3:

Darn...

For the last time people, there aren't, and probably won't be, any Lego stores in Canada :sing: !

In other news, how are you fellow Torontonians dealing with the garbage strike?

Ha! Are you crazy people just letting it pile up on the curb?

My mom's mad, the garbage isn't a problem, just the recycling and the smell of our backyard and garage, and we plan to take everything to a dumpsite soon so it'll be gone.

What are they on strike for? Wages? Pensions? Magic beans?

I don't quite get the gist of it, but I think they're on strike because nobody's picking up their garbage :sadnew: .

But I think it actually looks something like this: the city made a horrible deal. Now they want to break it so the city workers are unhappy. Garbage is everywhere and everybody else is unhappy too.

No, some of the workers that are on strike are the garbage workers, which is why garbage isn't getting picked up. The reason they are striking is because their contract is up, and the workers want a better deal for the next 4 (?) years. What I don't understand is why the garbage is getting more attention, even while paramedics are also on strike :hmpf: .

In other news, has anyone around the GTA seen any of the summer release sets yet? The TRU at Yonge-Eglinton only has the windmill, the new Power Miners set and the exclusive Space Police set.

I was joking about the "nobody's picking up their garbage" bit. Essentially I was proposing a paradox. Garbage collectors being on strike because 'their' garbage isn't being collected.

Also, isn't the issue is the horrible deal the city made in the last collective agreement? As I understand things, city workers under the previous agreement could 'bank' 18 sick days (essentially collecting up to six months of six leave) per year. The city wants to dispose of this provision. Obviously this would cost workers who have banked several years of sick leave big-time so people are unhappy. As for garbage workers; they're getting the attention because people are noticing their absence. I believe that paramedics are an 'essential service' which prevents them from walking off the job entirely (like other health workers).

Yesterday, I was at wonderland :classic:

Good for you  I've been a few times before but I don't really like Wonderland because I'm not a big fan of roller-coasters. And the price of admission is too much IMO. BTW, I'm curious how much a funnel cake is, the lines are always too long :hmpf_bad:

Are you guys talking about Canada's Wonderland/Paramount Canada's Wonderland, the amusement park north of T.O.? I guess it changed it's name again?

I don't remember a water park when I was there but I went many years ago. Do they still have the really huge wooden roller coaster?
