27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

24. Sandy - Las Sirenes en Porto Faro

33. Guss - Pillaging and Liberating

And my first vote goes to...Captain Kirk! His entry stood out on nearly every level!

It's sheer magnitude, the level of detail, the ammount of minifigs and bricks used...

And everywhere we can see pirates and soldiers that fight each other, so the level of cruelty is more then high enough (just look at that nice carriage...) A very big  from me!

My second vote goes to Sandy and her Sirenes! IMO the most creative and entertaining entry of the large division. One can not only read the story above and between her pictures, but also in the pictures!

Much details and a good portion of cruelty finish her MOC and make it deserve my vote!

And my third vote goes to Guss, because his entry has about the most cruelty of all large entries in it. Also the fact he managed to build this with such a limited ammount of resources should be considered a positive point (he nearly used all of his bricks).

Honourable mentions:

2. DNL

Very good MOC but it lacks a good story and title, also a bit too medieval IMHO.

15. Erdbeereis1 - Gorilla Bay

Another great entry from masterbuilder Erdbeereis1! This one is a close runner-up for my top-3.

21. Infomaniac - Attack on French Fjord

Nice ship and fort, but maybe a bit too small in comparison to the winning MOCs.

26. Chrispockster - The Treasure of Indigo Isle

One of the few large entries featuring the Islanders, while they have such great potency for this contest.

The nature details and nice bridge make it an outstanding MOC.

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

This entry has the best and most detailed 'fauna and flora', the plants climbing up against the houses are so beautiful, and so is the fort and the village in its whole.

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot

I like how he did his background, the light effects are so neat! Also the cobblestone wall of the fort looks incredible!

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

A very nice entry indeed, but I think it would have ended even higher if the picture was taken from another side.

36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

An amazing MOC! Fell just outside my top-3, the ship is magnificient and so are the caves.

Only the kraken could have been done a little better IMHO.

2. Chrispockster - The Treasure of Indigo Isle

3. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

Thanks for a really great contest, it's been sweet

1st - 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

2nd - 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

3rd - 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

2. 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

3. 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

Some excellent, excellent entries.

1 - 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro Gorgeous build and colours with loads of clever detailing, like the bell tower, the wonderful tile roofs and the clever slope of the wall. I am a sucker for dark green foliage as well  and everything here looks tasteful and well-done, and the colour blending (tan/ dark tan, blue/ medium blue) is subtle and naturalistic. The diorama is clear and the action clearly tense. A close competition, but this was the winner for me. One sure test of its greatness was that I could immediately identify lots of techniques I was going to imitate :pir-classic:

2- 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon What more could possibly be said than hasn't been covered in the entry thread itself? This MOC is in a class of its own in terms of detail, scope and clever and original building techniques, but it doesn't quite translate its glory into the 'Large' format of PTV itself as there is almost too much going on. The eye cannot find contentment where it rests! The entry pic hardly shows the MOC to its full advantage, but it may be that something this size is impossible to encapsulate well in a single photograph.

3 - 20. AL FREDDO - The Atrocity Island There were lots of excellent contenders, but Al Freddo's entry is visually distinct from many of the other looting scenes depicted. The expression is may be a little more stark than other entrants in its simplicity of form, but I really like the bold visual drama of island, blood, and rock. The little palm huts are cite too :pir_laugh2: A very original and striking entry.

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

2. DNL

34. Pe668 - Finders Keepers, Loosers Bleeders

It was hard selecting 3 entries so it took me some time to do so.

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedr

The best according to my judgment. Wonderful fortress and town. If this was on sale I wouldn't doubt and buy it.

2. DNL

My #2 choice. Lots of details everywhere and looks great overal.

34. Pe668 - Finders Keepers, Loosers Bleeders

The combination of minifig scale and microscale works very well. Such an original entry deserves to be in my top 3.

Besides the ones in my top 3 there are some others worth mentioning:

14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion

19. Lt. de Martinet - Attack on Fort de Triomphe

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot....

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot....

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

just add a special WOW! for "Pe668 - Finders Keepers, Loosers Bleeders"... and so many more..

good luck for everyone

36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

2. DNL

19. Lt. de Martinet - Attack on Fort de Triomphe

Voting ends in a few hours!

29. Exotrator

31. Fat Tony

36. Lord King of Everything

Exo - :pir-wink:

Tony - Some of the angles on the photographs obscure the subject piece, but nice details like that much loved roofing technique, extensive use of SNOT, and effective portrayal of varied methods of piratical cruelty sell this for me.

Lord King - I really like the unique inclusion of the subterranean hideout, the galleon is very finely crafted, and I find the islander sorcerer perched upon the rocky cliff summoning up the kraken to be an enchantingly cinematic display. My only gripes include some rough edges and the lack of white breakers emanating from the point of the sea monster's subaqueous emergence.

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

The Pirates of San Pedro get my first vote, as I found the entry to create a great atmosphere, really piraty. The roofs were awsome. Only thing I missed was a big ship, I would have been very interested what it would have looked like. Would be a deserved winner!

Le Quartier Brique was great too, I think he had the greatest first photo, it looks very action packed. The woodwork on the buildings is breathtaking. The only reason Le Quartier Brique did not get my first vote is that The Pirates of San Pedro had a more piratey feel.

My third place vote goes to myself!
