2) 26. Chrispockster - The Treasure of Indigo Isle

3) 14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion

Again, I had to go with myself because this MOC is my largest to date, and I can understand how much time (and money) went into since because I did, in fact, build it. :pir-tongue: It's a decision I don't take lightly.

The other two were nice, and had many details I enjoyed.

(Thanks to you guys who voted for me! :pir-blush: )

Good luck everyone - this has been a fun contest, and thanks to our hosts!

1. Lt. de Martinet - Attack on Fort de Triomphe

2. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

3. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot....

My honorable mentions:

DNL- It was really well-built (and plenty cruel), but I felt that the buildings made it look too much like a castle MOC, rather than Caribbean pirates.

Erdbeereis1 - Gorilla Bay - Some very interesting techniques, and nearly studless! I love that in a MOC, but the ship seemed a bit detached from the rest of the creation. Also, the skulls on the sails look a little goofy.

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot...

27. Capt. Kirk- le Quartier Brique

Amazing Mocs everyone!

2. 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

3. 27. Capt. Kirk-le Quartier Brique

1.I picked the first place as I just think it is very imaginative MOC it has a great scene going on and I love Neptunes rock!

2.It was a close second with first place because it is also very very cool IMO!The whole feed it to the sea monster idea and the way the skeleton is part of the ship is just awesome.

3.This one is very good also and huge but it didnt have a pirate ship in it so it was never going to be first or second for me!Still it is an outstanding creation none the less!

I cant wait till the next contest like this one so a)I can join in also and b)so I get to see more of the great builders of EB at work doing what they do best!Well done to all who entered, you all did really well IMO!LEGO ROCKS

34. Pe668 - Finders Keepers, Loosers Bleeders. Clearly the best entry, bwahahaha!

2. DNL. Plenty of great details. At 1st glance I thought the black fig was someone burnt to death.

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon. Excellent MOC, but I felt the photography let it down.

This division was hardest to pick a winer. The competition almost needed a mega division.

Special Mentions:

15. Erdbeereis1 - Gorilla Bay. Hand made sail and the blood going into the sea, nice.

20. AL FREDDO - The Atrocity Island. Didn't need 3,000 bricks to have a fine MOC

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique. Very nice buildings, but just not enough evil for my liking.

"Your entry has to contain something evil, depicting the spirit of the contest. No peaceful scenes." - The Rules.

Plenty of brilliant entries, well done to all and to Classic-Pirates for such a great competition.

But maybe next time, pick some judges (MOC experts), the public forum voting was rank (IMO)

Edited by pe668

First vote: 2: DNL

Second vote: 14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion

Third vote: 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

The first vote goes to 2: DNL, it's just an awesome MOC with a lot of pillaging and cruelty. The MOC himself is very well build and overloaded with awesome details and a lot smart techniques.

The second vote is for 14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion because I just love the Mansion! In the MOC there is pillaging, cruelty and the essence of pirate life. The -once so nice- garden is now filled with casualties, blood and slaughtering, which is cool.

The third vote is for 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro because the MOC is so nicely made. I love the cilinders used to be a roof on the houses. Never seen that before. The fort is a magnificient structure as well. I see you've been working on the pale walls of the fort. The holes and damage on it makes it much more realistic! The bell is a lovely addition as well.

I couldn't make a choice between 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique and 2: DNL, but if we had the choice to choose four entries Capt. Kirk would participate! I love the tall buildings and details in it. But the water could have some waves in it.

You've done a very good job all and it was much harder to vote then the medium and small divisions!

1- Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

2- Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

3- The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

I really like the 'skull' hull of Lord King of Everything MOC

1st 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

2nd 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

3rd 2. DNL

Honorary Black Light Use Award goes to:

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot....

1) 29. Exotrator- The Pirates of San Pedro

2) 31. Fat Tony- We pillage, we plunder we rifle and loot...

3) 32. SirNadroj- The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

Most of the entries I saw in this round were remarkably cruel and pillagelicious (term patent pending); so much so that this had to be the hardest for me to judge yet!

I picked Exotrator for first because the entire MOC caught my eye. Scenes of cruelty abound throughout the scene, the Spanish-style tiled roofs are gorgeous, and I love how the fort design was approached; not to mention the little details like bits of wayward sand, the rock snagging that bit of driftwood, and the archway for the bell.

Second goes to Fat Tony. His rated "Arrrgh!" (sorry, couldn't resist :pir-grin: ) rendition of the Pirates of the Carribean theme ride had me chuckling at some points and had me outright shocked at the cruelty at others. Once again, there's some fantastic fortress design, as well as some top-notch flame effects. Kudos!

Finally, we have SirNadroj's "The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon." Three things that immediately struck me about this MOC are the huge boat (colossal, one might say), the classic pirate fort colors, and of course, the namesake head; which is fantastically built. There's also a bunch of nice touches, like people flying through the air, a promiscuous pirate couple, underground caverns and what appears to be a small child being hunted (muwahaha! :pir-devil: ).

Honorary mentions go to Olog's Shark Attack, Capt. Kirk's Le Quatier Brique, Paul Cantu's The Raid on the Governor's Mansion; be it known, that if through a weird time/space mishap, the other entries didn't exist, you'd have my top marks. :pir-classic:

Congratulations to all for your hard work!

AVAST! :pir-sing:

-Nich

My first vote is for 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

Second is for 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

And third for 14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion

All these I found to be very godd and well designed I did like a few others;

21. Infomaniac - Attack on French Fjord and 24. Sandy - Las Sirenes en Porto Faro but I liked the ones I voted for more.

1.Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

2.Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

3.Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

1.)NewRight - Port Royale Magnifigio

2.)Sir Nadroj - The Pillaging of Neptunes Noggin' Lagoon

3.)Exotractor - The Pirates of San Pedro

Nice MOC's all around. Not particularly impressed with my own. Maybe some improvements in '09.

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

Wow, there were so many incredible entries in the large division, which made it extremely difficult to pick 3 to vote for as my favorites.

In the end, I decided on these:

First Place:

Capt. Kirk's Le Quartier Brique was by far my favorite entry. The sheer size of it, along with all of the action and beautiful details really set it above the rest in my opinion.

One of my favorite parts was the superb chariot and the effect of it going down the hill. All of the smoke and flames coming out of windows gave the entry a certain sense of panic and excitement, especially the soldier dangling from the wodden balcony. The buildings were so amazing with the beams and red roofs, plus they had stunning details on every corner.

His cobblestoned path was perfect and led beautifully to the stone steps. Lastly, the SNOT water and the little dock capped the entry off wonderfully.

Overall, a fantastic effort.

Second Place:

Second place in my vote went to Exotrator's The Pirates of San Pedro. When I saw his entry it just made me think of an old caribbean village with the fabulous red and dark-orange roofs. It felt like I was brought away from the cold and snow for a few minutes. The dark green plants climbing up the little buildings looked great and provided an excellent color contrast.

His fort on the right was also an excellent construction, with the stunning cannonball holes in the side and the arch over the bell.

Another superb entry.

Third Place:

Sir Nadroj and His Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon received a very well-earned 3rd place vote from me. A gigantic entry with tons of action and detail. I absolutely loved the various buildings, especially the one with the governor. Neptune's Noggin was a very creative idea, which was well-executed, and the ice-cream cannon smoke looked simply amazing. His ship was gorgeous as well, and I loved the little details he included like the man falling overboard.

Basically everywhere you looked you saw an exciting or funny detail. Great entry!

======================================================

So, that caps off my top 3, but, there were far too many entries that were also amazing to leave them out entirely, so here are my very honorable mentions.

Honorable mentions:

1) DNL had a lovely entry with many beautiful details, plus blood and cruelty galore! It missed out on the top 3 by a very small amount.

Great work DNL!

2) Lord King of Everything had by far the best ship of the entire contest with the downright spooky skulls. Plus the sea monster was a fantastic idea.

3) Lt. De Maritinet's entry was also fantastic, I especially loved the rounded wall. I plan on making a soldier's fort MOC in the near future and will certainly use this for some inspiration.

4) I thought Guss did an excellent job with his entry as well, and I loved the fact that he used some EB member sig-figs in it.

5) And lastly, Fat Tony has to get the award for best lighting effects in his entry. The glowing flames were just outstanding.

All of the other entries were also simply fantastic, and I must say I'm very pleased to see that our community has so many great builders in it.

Fantastic work everyone, thanks to the classic-pirates staff for hosting this amazing contest, and happy holidays! :pir-classic:

33. Guss - Pillaging and Liberating

2. DNL

24. Sandy - Las Sirenes en Porto Faro

My first vote goes to me because I love myself and right now I'm feeling egocentric :pir-tongue:

No the real reason is that I finished it before the first deadline with a few pieces ( it used all my blue and grey pieces) and I just came out from my dark age when I finished it, I bought 2 sets and recovered an old collection I never used before, so I didn't really know what I add to build it, and when I learnt that the contest will be extended, it was too late, I already destroyed it because I live in a really little appartment and I had no room to keep it built, I didn't had enough time to rebuild it entirely, but I'm pretty sure that if I do it again, I'll be able to make something way cooler! ^^ so my first vote goes for me ^^

My second vote goes for DNL because, like me, he finished it before the original deadline and his entry is great ( way better than mine, but as I said, I'm feeling egocentric ^^) the only thing I didn't like much is the poor story he put on it, but it's not what is being judged^^

My third vote goes to Sandy because I really liked her moc and her idea of an female pirate crew^^ plus her pictures are very nice despite the lack of "plain/digital" background. the only thing I don't really like in her moc is the shark just "put " on the water, but I don't really care^^

also, my votes went for entries that really showed a "pillage of the village" , as everyone, I loved the lord king of everything entry , AL FREDDO entry was outstanding despite his lack of pieces, I also loved Erdbeereis1 entry ( I just don't like the sails :pir-tongue: ) , but these entries just don't really fit the theme to me, there's not really a "pillage the village" going on^^ Captain kirkentry was also great butmore " castle " than "pirate to me" , but it is really an awesome moc.

My honorable mentions goes to:

Lord King Of Everything : gotta love your ship, really amazing!

Al FREDDO : I love what you did with a few pieces^^

Erdbeereis1 : nice island^^ I just don't like your sails ( I already said it ? :P )

Captain Kirk : outstanding "medieval city" work there, and that's the problem, looks too "medieval" to me^^

Olog : shooting shark really was a nice idea^^ and your moc is really cool!

Exotrator : I hesitated to vote for you instead of sandy but I finally preferred her presentation, the text between the pictures ^^

Fat Tony : the night effect is really awesome!

Sirnadroj : outstanding entry, I just thought you don't really need my vote ^^

Pe668 : nice effect with the microscale^^

well ... I think I'll stop there, or I'll finish by mentions all the entries ^^ ( but I love knock knock BOOM splat, the idea was funny ^^ ARRRR I'll stop I promise ! :pir_laugh2: )

1. 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

2. 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

3. 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

More I would vote on:

20. AL FREDDO - The Atrocity Island

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

19. Lt. de Martinet - Attack on Fort de Triomphe

2. DNL

Pff only 3 to vote, would've voted on like 10 or so ^^ gl to all

#1 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

#2 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

#3 20. AL FREDDO - The Atrocity Island

These were all great MOCs. I never had a chance to finish my large entry, but I can tell it would have been stiff competition! The ship in the Lord King of Everything is absolutely amazing, but so is SirNadroj's ship. And Al Freddo's entry was so different from others and so well crafted!

Great work on a great contest everyone! I am looking forward to pillaging more villages with all of you in the near future! Pirates are back baby!

2. DNL

27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

1. 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

2. 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

Just all awesome entries.

1st- 29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro

2nd- 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

3rd- 26. Chrispockster - The Treasure of Indigo Isle

I thought all entries were great, and it was a very difficult decision, but my votes go to these three in the end for -

-The Treasure of Indigo Isle was wonderfully designed, and was just a very, very quality entry.

-Le Quartier Brique was just superior design all the way, and every aspect of it had something interesting or creative making an already bright entry even brighter.

-The Pirates of San Pedro had everything I've just said - design, creativity, quality, and, of course, lots of blood!

Thanks for a great contest everyone!

1) 31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot....

2) 2. DNL

3) 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

Fat Tony- Best lighting. A MOC can be photographed on something other than white.

DNL- Almost more Castle than Pirate, but I loved all the details. Great job!

SirNadroj- Always innovative!

1) 36. Lord King of Everything - Die for the King!

2) 27. Capt. Kirk - Le Quartier Brique

3) 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

1) That ship is absolutely terrific! The skull in the back is incredible! I really love it. Plus the story is great, and beside that the ship is fabulous, the cliff and the rest of the scene is great too. A truly deserved first place!

2) It's not an entry. It's a city. There's so much going on in this MOC. It's all very well made, and the details are great. There's lots of plundering, killing and such, so it deserves my second vote.

3) I really like this entry. The six pictures doesn't do this entry justice. I'd say that about 60 would do. There's to many detais to describe and they are all very good, so I think this entry belongs here. At my third place.

These choices have been incredible difficult. Much more than the two other categories. The large category has been stuffed with so many amazing entries. Everyone have done a great job. And because of these hard choices I've made qiute long list of honorable mentions!

Honorable mentiones

2. DNL It's cruel, it's bloody, it's chaotic and it's completly perfect for the contest. It's a great entry!

15. Erdbeereis1 - Gorilla Bay Really nice. There's so much blood in this entry, and I really love that! The cliff is absolutely great! Stuffed with nice details.

19. Lt. de Martinet - Attack on Fort de Triomphe I considered this for my third vote for a long time, 'caus it's really nice. I love these scenes with pirate attacking some poor soldiers og villagers from their ship.

20. AL FREDDO - The Atrocity Island The blood effect in the sand is so great.

29. Exotrator - The Pirates of San Pedro The fort is sweeeet. And the burning roof is also very well made.

31. Fat Tony - We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot.... The dark setting only lightened by the fire. It's very a nice scenery
