DarthSion Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 A couple of my everyday pet peeves are when: People are dumb (EX: the chinese attacked Pearl Harbor, or that stars are just really tiny suns that only come out at night)People whose political views differ from mine, and regard me as an idiot Little kidsWhen people are mean to other people for race, gender, orientation, etcWhen people tell me that I'm going to hellWhen someone joins Eurobricks and posts a thread saying that they have pictures of an unreleased set, and the link they provide is some disgusting pretty daisy site In the quite words of the virgin Mary, come again. Ex?, do you mean eg = example, and i assume you mean someone said to you the Chinese attacked Pearl harbour, technically that is correct, some stars are suns. So you don't like people who think your an idiot because of your political views, but you still call others dumb. Disrespectful adults. Shouldn't they know better? Care to share an example, and no, just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they do or should know better. If i had a dollar for every chick i know who bitches about their jerk boyfriend yet still make up bs excuses to stay with him, i would have every lego set there is.
5150 Lego Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Ex?, do you mean eg = example, and i assume you mean someone said to you the Chinese attacked Pearl harbour, technically that is correct, some stars are suns. Wait, i'm confused.. Did you mean that technically the Chinease did attack Pearl Harbor, or that some stars are suns? Care to share an example, and no, just because someone is an adult doesn't mean they do or should know better. If i had a dollar for every chick i know who bitches about their jerk boyfriend yet still make up bs excuses to stay with him, i would have every lego set there is. You know, this whole Chris Brown and Rihanna thing makes me sick. He beats the crap out of her and she doesn't want to press any charges on him. Worse she took his stupid a$$ back. She's so stupid. I won't feel sorry for her when he slaps her around again.
vulture droid Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 To clarify what I posted: and i assume you mean someone said to you the Chinese attacked Pearl harbour, technically that is correct, some stars are suns. regarding the chinese pearl harbor ordeal, if you ask any of the people I live around what started World War II, they will tell you that the chinese attacked pearl harbor, and then we dropped The Bomb on them as retaliation. For the whole Sun/stars thing, according to what these certain people are trying to explain to me, the stars are like the sun [as they are in real life] but are actually the size that we see them in the sky, and the sun is giant [as it is compared to our planet, but not on a galactic scale]

prateek Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) When people say legos, not LEGO. Like earlier today, I was watching TV and there was a Toys R Us commercial, and they said legos on national television. I saw that commercial and I wanted to smash the TV when i heard her say legos. DANG, I forgot my pet peeve EDIT: now I remember, it's when my teachers give me bad marks Edited March 9, 2009 by prateek
5150 Lego Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Pay more attention in history class. The Japanese attacked pearl harbor witch started the war for the pacific. P.S. Stars aren't suns our sun is a star Pay more attention to what people are saying... Again, to clarify:I know these things! Shadows Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 My pet peeve is when people start squabbling about stupid things in a thread about pet peeves. Cut it out.
Peppermint_M Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Pet Peeves II: My friend just trying to wind me up (guys, it's like throwing a firecracker on a bonfire, kay?) by saying purposefully fuse lighting phrases in a constant stream.. The knowledge that If I renamed a MOC on MOCpages and called it Star Wars I would have more comments and views in five minutes than I've had in three years on certain MOCs... My sister constantly acting like she is "grown up" when she is ten (and in her mind going on 16). On that note: Kids calling me weird because I play with Lego still. People who refuse to read books. There are so many out there that there must be one the'd like. People who complain that they "don't get it" in Maths, when the "it" in question is a constant and does not need "getting" but they still have to hold the lesson up. Ahrg. Well, now I have said all that I should probably feel less grumpy in work....
DarthSion Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) I don't know why but it bugs me when people say i am in school and are adult age, school is where kids go, University, College, or Tafe is where adults go. People who nit pick my spelling and grammar, and think by saying something im going to give a rats. People who go on and on about reading books. Edited March 10, 2009 by DarthSion

Math doesn't come to everyone as easy as it comes to others. I don't think its fair to get mad at those that might need a little extra help. I don't know why but it bugs me when people say i am in school and are adult age, school is where kids go, University, College, or Tafe is where adults go. Well technically, University, College and "tafe"(i've never heard of this before) is school. People who nit pick my spelling and grammar, and think by saying something im going to give a rats. Agreed. I also find it funny when people nit pick grammar make mistakes themselfs. Edited March 10, 2009 by 5150 Lego
Peppermint_M Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Yes, I know maths can be hard. Calculus is evil and I am still yet to grasp it, but when someone slows the lecture down (its university lectures in Analytical Methods) to question why Pi is 3.14 (add infinitum)... It gets a little annoying, especialy when they don't go and seek extra help outside of the class... This same person is quite grating in that they treat a lecture as a conversation between themself and the lecturer (butting in, making irrelevant comments, and all those noises you make to let someone know you are listening) it gets a little frustrating. I'm sure everyone has encountered a person like this as they wander the highways and byways of education. Pet Peeves III. When the server dies at work, mid-way through some important task, losing anything you haven't saved and preventing you doing more any work. And the printer that needs constant attention due to phantom paper mis-feeds and ink cartridge issues... I would have been done a lot faster today if that printer would work without someone stood over it every second of the day.
5150 Lego Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) Tafe is Australian, its like College. Ahh, ok. Gotcha. Yes, I know maths can be hard. Calculus is evil and I am still yet to grasp it, but when someone slows the lecture down (its university lectures in Analytical Methods) to question why Pi is 3.14 (add infinitum)... It gets a little annoying, especialy when they don't go and seek extra help outside of the class... I'm sure everyone has encountered a person like this as they wander the highways and byways of education. I see what your saying. In that case i agree with you. To be honest, i'm surprised that the profesor is even taking the time to stop the lecture to answer such questions. Many profesors will make you wait till after the lecture is over to ask questions. Even then some will REQUIRE the ones that need extra help to get a tutor or some kind of extra help. edit: Ok, i have another one that has really been getting on my nerves. People that are constantly trying to correct people on what they post, and were it should be posted. Example: "Um, well this really should be moved into this thread" Or "we've already seen this, so this should be closed. Please pay more attention next time". This crap has really been rubbing me the wrong way. Edited March 10, 2009 by 5150 Lego
DarthSion Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Just thought of another, a dozen threads on the same topic.
Oky Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Pay more attention to what people are saying... Funny that you say that. Isn't it you who constantly keeps criticizing people for saying this?! Oh well. I don't mean to flame.
Shadows Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I think this has run it's course and it's time to move on and be a little more positive. You know, we all have petty little gripes in life, but that's what they are, petty, and now this thread is becoming the very thing it is about. Let's try something positive next, ok?
