I'm considering the possibility of a bajonette. Based on the pictures big French/British army in the pirates thread, I saw the Playmobil version.

That's a possible first design idea ...

Looks intresting, but on the current musket has a bit of a rim so I think you'll need to alter the design for it to fit.

Nicely done so far. But there's one issue: the bayonet may fit to the barrel of the musket but the musket's barrel is slightly wider at the end.

I'm afraid the bayonet will point down if you attach it to the musket.

About your design:

I agree with Cap'n Blackmoor about the fact that it maybe will point down... or maybe up.

But so far so good... respect.

About the PlayMobil design:

For me it's a little too long, but the look is good.

Suggestion:

Maybe you can try to get a PlayMobil Bajonette and use the same design but not that long.

Just an idea.

For the members how don't know where we talking about:

Great!

I will be watching how this works out as well.

Woody how to you mean available (im new...) do you have your own store or sell on bricklink or what?

This ins't complete clear to me. The production office has now solved the sending task and my current favorite is selling it via ebay or direct, payable via paypal.

There will be a minimal volume. For example for the bajonnette 50 pieces will make sense.

Maybe I will take some interests directly during the next weeks via email.

Checked items are currently: french shako, ulan, austrian grenadier, french dragoon, austrian dragoon, fez, Hussar.

The next order from my side will verify the bearskin and the bajonnette.

If I decide for ebay I will do a "buy it know". I tested the auction possibility and I think that won't work.

Fantastic work!

This is an amazing accessory.

Fantastic work like NewRight said... respect Woody64!

But is it not possible to make the hats smaller... so their is not much space between.

I think it will look better... more realistic... no offence and said with respect !!!

Which hat do you mean?

moldedshakosgallery.jpg

In the beginning I calculated a bigger wall size as needed with the new material. For the French shako/ulan that may be a possibillity to improve the look ...

Said with all respect for your work/creations Woody64.

For most of them... maybe not the bearskin. Personaly I find that the most hats/helmets look like helmets/hats with fur and are to big for the minifigs head. I think if you can do a smaller wall size... the are perfect for a Lego minifig head and it looks more realistic.

But I don't know what material you use and if it's possible to have a smaller wall size.

Again, great work! I only saw something on the link:

Size:

Height 1.1 cm

Width 0.9 cm

Depth 2.0 cm

A bit large for a bayonet if you print it. You are going to resize it I hope. :pir_laugh2:

Your helmets look great to me if I see the picture. Good work!

Man, I really want that bayonet!

Uuups ....

Thanks for the hint there was something wrong in the final sizing. Here's a correct version ...

If you mean with fur the surface of the item that's right. That's the best which can currently achieved with 3d printing. Currently the company producing the items is discussing a sanding possibility. But that's only an internal discussion so far.

Wall size was a problem at the beginning but now it seems that smaller wall sizes can be achieved. Maybe I have to work over one of the items to see if that's possible.

Keep printing... :pir-wink:

The bajonet looks very good already Woody64, but is the price next to the bajonet the correct one? Since that would be very cheap you know!

looks a little too long, but its sure a great version! Perhaps make it more looking like a real barjonet. But other wise, i love it!

I think it's wrong but the bigger one was at 0,33 cent ...

For the ones which have asked for the way I intend to sell, there are now two remaining possibilities:

- bricklink ... there's already a test store woody64 custom 3d prints

- but more favourable is the newest offer from the printing office which plans to open a shop possibility with the begin of january

I think it's something you have to try and see if it's possible...

Today I've uploaded a new mesh where I minimized the borders to 0,8. That's the minimal possible size. Will give it a check with the next order.

http://www.shapeways.com/model/12104/french_shako_v3.html

Additionally I've visited today the Military Museum in Vienna and checked the typical bajonettes of this area. I think the principal design matches. To make it more realistic the attaching element should be twice as large.

Concerning length there were differnt lengths used. From 20 cm to half a meter. I saw the picture of a J
