ptdapen Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Well I was building the Mobile Command Center, hooray for Christmas, but anyhow, I seem to have put the door to open the cabinet backwards. I don't know why I did something like that, I guess I'm just tired. I got a scuba thing inside so I can't really push in to make the piece come out. So what should I do? Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I'm not sure i understand the problem here....can you be more specific, perhaps with pictures? Quote
ptdapen Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Mhm, I see. Well I don't have a camera at hand, maybe some time later. I can find pictures of the pieces, though. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=4532a http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=4533 The colors aren't the same, but that isn't the point. Anyways, I put on the door on backwards, where I can't use the handle to open it. There is something in it, scuba gear (I could show a picture), so I can't merely push it in. So far a skinny, long object isn't able to pry it open, so I could use some help. In general, I cannot open the door because the handle is on the wrong side... sorry for being unclear. Quote
Faramir Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Maybe some kind of suction cup on the door? That might work... You could try gluing some kind of handle to it temporarily if only to open it, although that might damage the piece. I'd try the suction cup. Maybe even one of these, if you have it? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=x199 Quote
ptdapen Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Hah a suction cup gun! No, I don't have one of those unfortunately. I'll see to it sometime when I'm not so lazy to look for something. Anyways, thank you for your help. Other ideas would be appreciated as well! Quote
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 You're not the only one who had trouble with the MCC! I was building the wall of the back of the truck, and the first wall you build, I put on completly backwards!!! I had to redo th WHOLE side!!! Quote
CP5670 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Those 3x2 cabinets don't stay closed that well even when you want them to. Have you tried just shaking it? Quote
Faramir Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) Another idea-- If I remember right, there should be some kind of little hole behind the handle. You could try sticking a toothpick back inside there, or something... OR Chuck Norris Edited December 28, 2008 by Faramir Quote
cartoondude Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Use chewing gum or something sticky. Quote
ptdapen Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) Hah Faramir, Faramir, I already tried that! It didn't really turn out that well, but I might try finding something skinnier. I have tried shaking it as well, and I'm not sure if I want to gum up my Lego. No, a suction cup is good enough, which I suppose I should try. EDIT: Woah, tried the Faramir Idea again and it worked. Yay! Edited December 28, 2008 by ptdapen Quote
Mocha Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) Hahaha that happens to me ALL the time. You just gotta stick a pin in the little hole and open it. Be very carefull or you'll scratch it. Edit: Oh, I didn't relize that you got it open. Edited December 28, 2008 by Mocha Quote
