Nannan Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I present my latest horror diorama: End of Days Story on MOCpages Teaser on Flickr Descriptions on CSF thread Gallery on Brickshelf -Nannan Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I just read it off of BrothersBrick (including the backstory and everything), and all I can say is WOW, you've made an amazing story and an even more amazing MOC come together in such synchrony. Brilliant, just brillinant. I love the simple techniques, and the incorporation of black fantasy (Obvious though, isn't it?). Very well executed. My only request would be for a close-up pic of where the tower meets the ground. I would really appreciate that. Again, Great job! -Ricecracker Quote
xenologer Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 My attention span is somewhat lacking. So amid all the detailed storytelling on your mocpage, I actually failed to catch Exactly what the thing is. Summary please? My first impression is it's some kind of 'grey goo' experiment that has gone out of control and is assimilating all surrounding matter to replicate itself... Quote
General Armendariz Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Thats freaking awesome! Good Job Quote
dhaas06 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Wow... I can't get over how enormous and meticulous that is! Quote
Scouty Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 The whole display is just amazing. I thinks it's just great. So much detail! I like the soviet camp best. Though I would have liked to see what would happen if one of the soldiers got caught in the "darkness.h" Quote
Skinny Boy Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I was wondering where all the dead figs were, until I saw all the skeletons Well done again Nannan. Quote
Pencoin Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 That thing is great! I'm planning on doing some BlackFantasy myself and you just pushed me. Quote
JimBee Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Wonderful work, Nannan, very detailed. That sure is a lot of plates and magnifying glasses, I imagine that you make a lot of BL orders (sorry, I'm not too familiar with your work, I'll have to take a look at your BS). Quote
Darth_Legois Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Ahhh I remember that teaser pic on Flickr but I never imagined something like this! That thing is a BEAST! Its huge! From the thumbnail it doesn't even look LEGO! I really like those coats on the russian's, are they custom? And all that detail all over it! Just amazing. Also how long did it take you to build it? Quote
Zepher Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 This is truthfully incredible! The pillar is awesome, and the Cyclons are great. The story is something I have yet to read, sadly, but again, this is wonderful. It sorta looks like the pillar is melting into the ground and that is what's cuaseing the spreading blackness. Quote
Nirdian Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 HOLY BAJEEMUS! *head explodes* This is probably your best (and biggest) one yet! And I love every brick of it! Also very creepy! Awesomely done! *will have nightmares from now on* Quote
Nannan Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 I'm glad many of you like it :) Ricecracker- there's nothing spectacular at the bottom of the column where it meets the ground, just normal brick-stud connections ImperialScouts- I thought about infecting some of the soldiers, but time was a constraint JimButcher- Almost the entire thing was bought on Bricklink, couldve cost me up to a grand. -Nannan Quote
Scouty Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 ImperialScouts- I thought about infecting some of the soldiers, but time was a constraint Too bad. Do you think you'll go back to it and "infect" them? Quote
Erdbeereis Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Nothing to say but wow... You must have the deepest brain of any builder, and the best supply of black cheese slopes. Seriously amazing MOC. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Absolutely gobsmacked at all the detail and amount of bricks that went into this supreme MOC! I love swag as much as the next man, but that many cheese slopes is insane! Well done on passing all exams and building this too! Quote
KimT Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Absolutely amazing. I am as usual stunned by your horror MOCs. I keep thinking of H.P.Lovecraft whenever another one of your MOCs surface. Quote
BlueBard Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Brilliant scary work! One of the best I've ever seen, really. Quote
Nannan Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 It's true that many of my horror themed creations have a Lovecraftian ring to them. I've applied Lovecraft's themes to a lot of my writings, and it's evident in the introduction to the story on this one. -Nannan Quote
