sam89 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Or maybe coming out later in the year ??? That's what I was thinking, but the article appears to say that there's 11 sets coming out in January (including the $99.99 set) and MORE sets coming out in the Summer. I wonder what the $100 set can be? A headquarters? Quote

Deinonychus Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 SKU means "Stock Keeping Unit"...it's a number assigned to a product by a retail store for inventory purposes or for computer scanning...so yeah, that'd be 11 different items or sets. So far we've seen 8 which leaves 3 mystery sets, including a $99 set that's either a large headquarters or some huge repair bay or giant mech. The back of the boxes of the current sets only show 8, as does the LEGO site. It could also be possible that the article is slightly mistaken and only 11 sets will be out this year with the first 8 coming out now and the last 3 in the summer with the big one. Remember a couple years ago when the Alpha Team: Mission Deep Sea sets came out that the second wave was only like 2 or 3 new sets? Guess we'll know in a couple weeks for sure Quote
xwingyoda Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Disn't care about reading thoroughly the comic but the gate lies in between the 2 worlds (robots and human) !! So the real question is: what lies beyond the gate ??? Since its always a story of good vs evil, we can easily assume that the robots crush the gate to enter the good guys' territory. Ok that doesn't say much but since there is a wave 2 (if Sam is right about the article) I don't see the good guys' base that early in the "story" . Or it could, and the robots destroy the human base then in wave 2, the human get their revenge with meaner Mechas and finally destroy the robots !!! Lets the fighting begin ;) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 So the real question is: what lies beyond the gate ??? That might be something not told until 2007 or whenever. You know, instead of like having Alpha Team jump from theme to theme with no explanation, maybe these guys tell more of a story. Quote

kotua Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 It seems that the shoulder armor on the human's mech in the Gate Assault set seems to be this piece: The piece Nice to see 4+ pieces being used. Quote
Darkness Falls Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Wow, the gate assault set is a great starter set. It has the humans and robots, two mechs, a damn wall, and a car... for 30 bucks? Wow, Lego didn't lie when they said low prices. Seriously, Exo-force is looking pretty good. The heads a spin arounds, which is nice, and the Mechs are amazing. Quote
KMOI Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I have to agree with Darkness and Kotua here. I was mistaken about these sets. They plain out rock. Rock like never before. And on the topic of the theme, Exo-Force takes place around a mountain with multiple bridges leading across. In the gate set, that's the entrance to the Human's side of the mountain. Ther's also a robot gate on the other side of the bridge that leads to the robot's side. Eat side of the mountain appears to be a massive world. For people who are warring with each other, their worlds look very similar. If you watch the comic, you catch a glimpse into the Robot world and it's actually alot like the landing bay area of the humans. *wacko* I hope this line does well. You've got great sets that can really floor kids here. I just hope that they make this storyline interesting. The battle is over a bridge. One flipping bridge! Come on! If they're going to do this, at least make is a very large bridge like the one seen in Star Wars. Because I tell, ya, it makes a dull story if it's a battle over a two-lane bridge. |-/ Quote

Darkness Falls Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I love the new Robot Minifigures, but I can't help but raise a question: If the Exo-suits are mechanical, then why don't the Robots build themselves into the suits instead of having to double production by building a Mech and a Robot pilot? Quote
KMOI Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 We've seen sir!Go a few pages back. But its a good site, isn't it? Just helping out Commander Nodra, sir! After all, I don't want to sic his army on me! What good would I be if I was riddled with laser bullets? ;) And yes, this is one heck of a site. I really like the new layout all the theme sites, with the exception of the Harry Potter and Bionicle one. I love the new Robot Minifigures, but I can't help but raise a question:If the Exo-suits are mechanical, then why don't the Robots build themselves into the suits instead of having to double production by building a Mech and a Robot pilot? Well, perhaps the robots have a far more mysterious origin that thought out. That or a massive plot hole. I like plot holes. Because even though they make the story more confusing, it usually makes the fights more interesting. |-D Also, Maybe the robots didn't want to get completely wrecked in a fight. Because even if their mech explodes, they will survive. It's like a fail-safe mechanism, you see? :) Quote
Deinonychus Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 That's easy...large battle mechs are probably very energy intensive and cumbersome where smaller human sized robots consume less energy on a constant basis and also allow for better personal interaction (ie subjugation) of standard sized humans. It's probably best for the robots to stay "small" for day-to day activities and only bring out the energy guzzling mechs when it's time for combat...plus, they seem to be confined to a single mountain which is sure to have limited resources. Or... It's just cooler to have little robot pilots in big robot war machines Quote

sam89 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 There's some new (small) pics of the sets on LEGO's website: http://www.lego.com/eng/exoforce/humans/pr...roductPage.aspx The pictures on the left side of the page (with the white bacckground) are new. Quote

Still pretty cool Quote
