WGN is a local television station. Sorry, I should have added that. Nice to see some media coverage...if they are really gonna be there?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Ah, I see. That's pretty interesting, as long as they don't break our MOCs :sceptic::grin:

1) Yes, the on-site PAB is Saturday afternoon (not on Friday as originally planned)

2) No, it is not at 4 PM. It is at 4:30 PM (I missed it on the on-line schedule - fixed now)

3) No, you won't have to abandon your displays while the public hours are still ongoing to secure your place in line

4) We are devising a sign up system and we will put people in order to get to the PAB

Please be prepared to have limits on the amount you can purchase imposed so that as many attendees as possible get the opportunity to share in the special offerings.

Details will be worked out prior to the event.

I also note the rumors about WGN. For those that don't really know, WGN is a significant television station in Chicago and is a cable superstation also. This means that any big news stories take precedence over other "local" stories. For example, WGN came to the event in 2007. And, WGN was supposed to come to the event in 2008, but there was some significant news story that preempted their appearance. So, the rumors can remain rumors, but you might want to plan to be up early Friday for some reason or another.

Not to rehash the past, but there were some people with me in the hotel bar on Sunday night of the event in 2007 when we were actually on WGN. We got about 30 seconds...right after they spent 5 minutes on the GLP parade that was held downtown that day...ah, memories.

Thanks everyone. It is great that there is so much passion. There are only 2 weeks left!!!

I will definately be there. Would not miss it, after all I have a "Fling Things" title to defend. Cannot wait to see how far the competition can throw(hope they are prepared).

Less than two weeks to go! I'm close to getting all my figs together, and I still want to build at least one or two more MOCs. Nothing much, but always fun to build with a deadline!

I've got all my MOCcards filled out I just need to finish most of the WIPs signed up to go with me. It seems like most are farther ahead than I am.

Nah...we're all in the same boat. This last week will involve marathon building and packing sessions and little sleep. :classic:

I second what Dave said! Life always seems to get in the way of LEGO! That and work; what gives?

Marathon building, little sleep, lots of coffee, and what am I forgetting?????

It makes it seems as though I have such a short distance to travel compared to you. How long is the flight? Also, if you haven't checked for the 'fig yet, get on it  . See you in eight days.

I'll see him in 3, hopefully!

Of course, you get to Chicago after a long-a$$ flight across the Atlantic, and once you get outside O'Hare Airport's doors...the first thing you see is Hinckley! :sing:

See ya soon!

Thanks for checking, and it turns out The Brick Rat has one he can lend me, so it's all good. Try to have fun with Hinckley

Just wondering why this hasn't been mentioned anywhere else? If this happens will there be enough people aware for them to film? I would hate to think they will show-up to an empty locked convention hall at 6 am.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but I think WGN will be made aware of the times that the hall is open. Also, Friday morning will likely be fairly active, even early in the morning folks will be in there as early as 7 setting up what they didn't set up the night before.

My main concern is that everyone who has been monitoring Brickworld's website for announcements may not be looking at the other sites. Knowing that there might be a possibility of being on TV, may have persuaded more people to be there on thursday as apposed to coming friday morning/afternoon, missing out on an opportunity they are not aware of. That said I will drop my personal issue with this.
