Inertia Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I concur that the open flaunting of the fact that the woman are secretly talking behind our backs is a bit unfair, and isn't really in the spirit of the game. I said so in the other thread, just more in character. Lego12, I think you might be taking it a bit far, no offence meant. Perhaps we should consult our game host?Could we try to keep everything game-related in the main thread? It makes things a lot easier for us all. Yes, that would be an idea. But anything that's unrelevant that they've been talking about should be left out. Now that would clog the thread! Personally, I think the lovely ladies should have whatever they want, whenever they want. I'm just like that. And Adalaide is a better shot than me. (though I sort of wish her name was spelled Adelaide so I wouldn't keep thinking I'm going to get it wrong and end up with additional ventilation) Adalaide seems to have good aim and draws pretty fast, that makes her pretty damn dangerous. And the first time i looked at the picture of the meeting I thought I was chained to Iris...
Hinckley Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Oh no! What about the Aliens? Or my secret wife? Or my brothers ghost? Or the fact that I knew who two of the rats were but if I said it I died? Oh dear, you have messed up haven't you? (Please note only 2 facts are true.) You're not playing anymore, so shut up. Nothing he said was true, folks. Carry on. I don't mind someone choosing "being a jerk" as a game tactic. As a matter of fact, I love it. But once you're out of the game, stop strategizing. This thread is meant for discussion only. No strategizing should be done here! How do you spell strategizing? Spellcheck keeps underlining it. I only just heard about the baritones because of Cptn PB's involvement. Being musical I got the joke about sopranos and baritones, and I thought it was pretty darn hilarious. Excellent work lads (and ladetts), looking forward to this series! I hope you join next time. Glad you got the joke! Are we aloud to PM each other? I kinda thought that was against the spirit of the game!Is this a power the women have that I do not know about? If PM's are aloud the FBI have basically got us in one great big S@$T, with voting hidden and all... Way unfair! PMing is allowed during the game. Some roles can only PM other players through me, but if that's part of your character it would say in your initial PM. Don't make assumptions as to how easy or hard the FBI have it. First of all, they aren't FBI, only informants. Second of all, this game started differently than any other mafia game played on this site...that's all I'll say about that. And lastly, I allow players to PM strategies and other things because mafia games originated at conventions and players are allowed to strategize privately without the host's knowledge. In the spirit of mafia games, people are allowed to PM each other about the game...as long as they're willing to share the interaction after the game is over.
Mrs Pegleg Blockbeard Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I hope you join next time. Glad you got the joke! To be honest, I don't understand it! But I like reading it, and Geoff's reactions are always priceless! Anyway *spam*.
Adam Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Y'all spell "Adam" with that lil' ol' capitol "A"! And I ain't tellin' youuu how ta spell that word until my namesake is re-vived! Unt'l then, I'ma goin' on strike!
Quarryman Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Just like to add that I'll be quite inactive this first day, have a major deadline coming up at work, should be sorted for day 2 though.
Lego12 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 (edited) Personally, I think the lovely ladies should have whatever they want, whenever they want. I'm just like that. And Adalaide is a better shot than me. (though I sort of wish her name was spelled Adelaide so I wouldn't keep thinking I'm going to get it wrong and end up with additional ventilation) Why thank you Ian! Your such a gentleman. Although, you should act tougher! Edited January 10, 2009 by Lego12
Hinckley Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Just like to add that I'll be quite inactive this first day, have a major deadline coming up at work, should be sorted for day 2 though. That is why I'm lengthening each "day" to 4 days for this game. A lot of people have work to do so this game will move at a slower pace than Baritones 1. I won't play "producer" as much this time and we'll take a break in between each day. That way people can catch up and stay active even if they can't log in for a couple of days. So far, I'm very happy with the level of participation.
DJ Force Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Aww man. I was so hoping to make it in time for the sequel, but I missed the sign-up thread a couple of MINUTES. I´ll be reading and following the story, though. Might be interesting to be able to jump to conclusions this time instead of real investigations Looking forward to the upcoming twists. Hinck, any chance to see some of the old cast in a Cameo?
Hinckley Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 Hinck, any chance to see some of the old cast in a Cameo? Yeah, there'll be plenty of cameos. Sorry you didn't make it this time. You did so great last time.
Alice Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I only just heard about the baritones because of Cptn PB's involvement. Being musical I got the joke about sopranos and baritones, and I thought it was pretty darn hilarious. Excellent work lads (and ladetts), looking forward to this series! Maybe you can sign up next time. This is my first time playing and I've been watching them for months. It's a lot of fun. Personally, I think the lovely ladies should have whatever they want, whenever they want. I'm just like that. Who are you trying to suck up to now?

WhiteFang Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Hinck, one stupid question. Do we need to submit our votes via pm to you now?
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 Hinck, one stupid question. Do we need to submit our votes via pm to you now? Voting can't be done at night, only during the day. Sorry that wasn't made more clear. There wasn't going to be a solid vote tonight anyway. A couple more things to clarify. No one is an actual "Baritone" in this crew. All of Iris's relatives were either killed by the survivors of the last game or in hiding. A name like Dragonatieri, for example is a last name... And Captains are usually already made men (if you follow the Sopranos) but in the case of this game, the made men are above the crew captains... Any other questions?
Dragonator Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 There wasn't going to be a solid vote tonight anyway. No I didn't think there would be in the end. Ah well, guess we'll see what happens in Day 2 (not that I'll be around). A couple more things to clarify. No one is an actual "Baritone" in this crew. All of Iris's relatives were either killed by the survivors of the last game or in hiding. A name like Dragonatieri, for example is a last name... And Captains are usually already made men (if you follow the Sopranos) but in the case of this game, the made men are above the crew captains...Any other questions? Oh I see... That certainly clears up some of my identity issues. So "the family" as it is, is more of an organisation of different families come together sort of thing? So by your logic my wife's full name is Alicia Dragonatieri, right? I wonder what my first name is?... Oh hang on, I'm to rich to need a first name.
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 I wonder what my first name is?... Oh hang on, I'm to rich to need a first name. Percival.
Admiral Blockbeard Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Percival. From now on Draggy is Percky... A percky dragon? now thats just wrong
Shadows Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Voting can't be done at night, only during the day. Sorry that wasn't made more clear. There wasn't going to be a solid vote tonight anyway. Oh, that's useful information. A couple more things to clarify. No one is an actual "Baritone" in this crew. All of Iris's relatives were either killed by the survivors of the last game or in hiding. And that's some damn good news. Not so much that they all died, but that none of us can claim family loyalty over anyone else. Now if only Iris would stop by my place like she used to in the good old days...

That clears things up a lot, thanks Hinckley! So LeAnn is LeAnn Inertiatieri? Well, voting can only be made at night? That's okay, as you said, no one would have enough votes against them, I like these rules actually, makes you think unlike the wild vote changing that normally goes on... What's my first name?
Zepher Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Don't you dare drag Mary into this PB! Besides, she loved Ritz far more then you by the end! Also she shouldn't be dead I've technically survived two Mafia games. Mystery Castle and Witch Mafia!
Bob Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 (cough) Sucidal (cough) Anyway, I hope I survive the night...I don't think I will....
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 What's my first name? Silvio. I'm glad you guys are asking this because I wanted to bring it out in the game, but I realize mentioning anyone by name usually throws suspicion their way. I want to avoid playing producer this time, but I'm actually staying real hands off. It's interesting. I think I realized I was doing too much as the host last time when we started "Witch Hunt" and I felt completely lost. We'll see what happens after Night 1...
Jlblue Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Percival. That is hilarious. I'm assuming Iris' last name is Baritone? Considering none of the original Baritones characters had last names, this certainly makes things interesting.
Bob Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 My first name is probably Boyd, Right? It would be odd to have Boyd as a last name...
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 What's my last name? Pamencieri. I forgot to mention to the other Captains that they like to pick on Dickie because he seems so young & inexperienced, although he joined the rank of captain before the Blockioli Brothers... Maybe a haircut would make him look a little more mature. Don't mind any of this. I just like creating characters.
