Posted January 12, 200916 yr This weekend I started building this Sun monster. I'm waiting on a bricklink order of 16 of those big bionicle flame pieces, but in the meantime I thought I'd try to get some feedback on the rest. So imagine it with twice as many flames plus all of them red instead of black. I'm really proud of the face. The orange pieces are all from the smallest power miner's set. These arms made possible thanks to my large Aquazone collection. The legs are very problematic - not sturdy at all. I'm going to replace them with click hinges and hope that fixes it, but should i do it with red or orange? I'm torn. And here's a back view. I've already got the pegs in place for the other flames. I'm happy with how it's going so far, but I feel like I've still got a while to go before it's finished. Let me know what you think! EDIT 1/20/08: I got my bricklink order of flames in and redesigned the legs as well. Edited January 20, 200916 yr by fallentomato
January 12, 200916 yr Hehe, very cool. I believe that they make BIONICLE fire-swords that fade from red to orange as well, by the way. That might look pretty good here.

January 12, 200916 yr Very nice concept, fallentomato The legs are very problematic - not sturdy at all. I'm going to replace them with click hinges and hope that fixes it, but should i do it with red or orange? I'm torn. I'd say red, since they'd match the arms better. I'll be waiting to see the final version LuxorV
January 20, 200916 yr The final result looks great, expecially on the black background! Once again, great (and a bit strange ) MOC LuxorV
January 20, 200916 yr Wow, well done fallentomato! Different and cool, I love the use of colors and pieces ! I think the legs look/are sturdy now in v.2. The only thing I can suggest to "improve" is to cover up the technic brick holes. You could us these pins, cover with red tiles and even add some flame stickers - these are inexpensive. Flame On !! I was looking for ways to make this more "flaming".
January 20, 200916 yr Looks cool! Very imaginative. All that flourescent orange is starting to burn my eyes though...
January 20, 200916 yr Impressive, you should sell that to some fancy art gallery for tons of money. I really would have never thought of anything like this.
January 20, 200916 yr I actually preferred the first legs, they gave a nice wavy motion to the figure. Nice, Thor
January 20, 200916 yr Author I actually preferred the first legs, they gave a nice wavy motion to the figure.Nice, Thor I also preferred the wavy legs, but unfortunately they did not do a good job of supporting the weight of the body. Since I will be eventually animating with this, I couldn't have it falling over all the time.
January 21, 200916 yr Very... Oroiginal! I have never seen anything like it before good work! ~Computerbug
