This is a very cool pile of bricks Hinckley! I love it. You should be designing for LEGO. If this was a set from LEGO, I would buy it. I love the shot of it next to the brewery. Thanks for sharing your great MOC's.

Great work! You're really churning the MOCs out latley! :oh: They look great together (possibly too good... but I suppose that happens in towns) and I'm glad that you've made another elevated building. I'm especially glad that the Brewery is still in business. The Star Wars print is a great touch; I love to use old prints and stickers where possible. Nice lift too; does it stay parallel when lifted or does it droop to the side while lifting? I wish TLG would bring back a piece like that...

The air-conditioner is cool! The mechanic in blue is my favourite figure and I'm impressed how well that Harry Potter top works. What's next? Is the back door just a bit of fun or do you have plans?

WOW!

This is really great Hinck

Really nice. I´m just stunned.

So another building to the city.

Sometimes I want to build my own city.

Then I really need more space then I got...

Mocs like this is really an inspiration.

Yay! It's Ras. Thanks for coming in and commenting and thanks for the nice compliment. :sweet: You need more space? Time to "find" some more by pounding through those walls with a sledgehammer. Your neighbors don't need that extra room, you do. Just drywall over the door to their apartment.

Hi you! Look, it's Sinner. :sweet: Hi!

The lift stays parallel, even with the car on it. My hand doesn't fit very well to turn the knob, so I usually end up tearing the whole thing down trying to operate it. But at least there's room for it to operate, unlike the one in the brewery  The Star Wars print on the round tiles matches nicely the real life building. I want to get an engraved brick for that area like the "Bordens" in the picture, but it will be "Jocko's". :sweet: I also like the mechanic in blue and I am very happy with how the Harry Potter print worked out. That's actually my favorite mechanic.

The back doors should have a plan but currently don't:

A train, maybe? Some sort of alley? Why oh why did I build them two different lengths anyway? :hmpf:

and anecdotely, I originally had a useless cargo door on the side of the brewery as well. Why there would need to be one across from and next to the garage door is beyond me, but it wouldn't fit next to the mechanic because of the rail, so I replaced it with a glass block window:

I like the window there (I should put a vent in it...) because it shows that the same architect may have worked in the area. Maybe that is part of your comment about them looking "too good" together. But I hope to mix that up with the car wash I'm building... Furthermore, I have no idea why that man is on top of the delivery truck...

Great work Hinckley!

I really like this MOC. It goes very well next door to the brewery.

I look forward to more creations like this in the future. :classic:

Thanks Derphsnerder! You'll get to see it at BrickWorld as well! Hooray! Register! Register! Register!

Great Job Dincky! I really like the way you packed everything in there, especially the lift. I also like the way you used a real life building as an inspiration, and the way you convey the feeling of the neighborhood really comes through. I also can't wait to see the car wash.

Yay, I can't wait to see all your work in real life, and I also would really like to meet you in person!

So it’s time for me to take a moment to comment this MOC…

Just keep in mind that my opinion and comments are made in a “Hinckley scale”, which means that there are some critics based on a hight quality moc.

The general look of the building looks fine.

Maybe the front is a little too blocky, especially with those brown parts on the top of the front.

The old brown mixed with the new one brings a very nice touch in showing the bricks.

The escape platform looks really too big for me. Using this grilled piece add some texture of course, but the size seem disproportioned 7 stunds overhanging without any structures to support the weight seems unrealistic.

The interior details are very nice.

But I don’t like the colour of the car left. Why regular blue? And with yellow! For the workbench is not a matter, but for this left, no! It looks like a kind of space ship!

All in all, it’s a very nice moc, especially with the brewery put aside.

I'm glad you came by to give me some feedback! :sweet: Great points about the fire escape. A lot of ours in the city are just a series of ladders, so I don't think of the size, I just want the texture. Perhaps some beams would help add the realism. A lot of our cable stayed balconies are on the ends of load bearing beams. I should think about that in the future, or use the Green Grocer method of ladders and window bars...

As far as the lift (not left, buddy, lift) that is how they are colored, at least in the states. I have seen them in blue, red and purple, so that the yellow caution areas stand out. This is based off of a picture of a real lift I found on Google and the lift is almost that exact shade of blue, so there.

Thanks for the feedback, buddy! It's nice to be building again and definitely great to hear feedback from you.

Oh :oh: ! So you've got some real space ship lift (I've learned the lesson...)!

I know that you will do the same with me! :sweet:
