Having seen those early building examples, I'm now thinking the next one would be sand/beige predominantly.

...

So what's left in the basic colors except a toned-down variant of yellow?

I think a Post Office would be superb. But another corner building as well.

...A beige new buiding would be cool, or maybe yellow/beige? :look:

Ok, guys - now you got me.

The new and third CC-style building IS a post office! :sweet:

Yellow or tan? Phew - both!

An isn´t it looking good next to all the other buildings?

I have my doubts that this is true, although I think it has a lot of potential to be a cool addition to this line of Lego sets. (I was at the Glendale, CA store on the same day this post appeared, and didn't see anything)

Assuming the next building in the series is a fire station, it will be interesting to see how Lego addresses some things, for example not one of the previous buildings in this line has included a vehicle, but how can you have a fire station without a fire truck?? So if they include a fire truck, would it be 6-wide or 8-wide? the City fire trucks are 6-wide, but i don't think a 6-wide fire truck would match the realisim and detail of the CC style buildings.

More importantly: how would the fire pole be connected, if the floors can be removed?? It'd have to have a fire pole.

I've seen nothing hinting at what this building will be in any LEGO store I've visited in the past month (I've hit up about 4, two in SoCal and two in Chicago.) That being said, I can't wait. These are some of my absolute favorite sets.

If this is tru i hope it will be a huge building. Either in lenght or a large corner. Even a 48x48 would be great.

Hope there will be 4 or more garages, a back ally where they got a training court, smoke chamber etc.

A dining room with kitchen, sleeping stoves etc.

I was about to build a firestation myself, but now i will wait some....

If not i will try copy this:

The orginal source of the fire station rumour has more to say (on Brick Town Talk):

As often in early models, the images were prelim only. The building is a front facing unit like green grocer. It did look like a city apartment to me but it was definatly some firestation. It had a tower with a clock and the roof style was gable. The colors were rich (dark red brick, with some blue like that used in the first factory modular unit and the sides were grey stone like the corners of the tan Model Town House creator set. There was a large gate (like something from castle) in the front built for the garage. No sign of minifigs or vehicles. I only absorbed a glimpse, I was told that there are "other photos" of the finalized version so things will change BUT (the most exciting part) a there is a second modular unit because Lego will release "more than one modular in 2009"..."to be priced below $120.

More than one modular building... Sweet.

As for the fire station, I'll reserve my comments until I'll see the design.

but who is this 'source'

sounds fishy to me :sceptic:

According to Brick Town Talk, this info has been emailed by "L.G. Orlando", who claims to have seen a prelim photo in a Lego Store. Someone with that name has posted modular building MOCs on MOCpages.

I don't know what to think. The info hasn't popped up anywhere else yet. Do Lego Store staff show prelim pics to customers?

Thank you very much for that information, paksu! :sweet:

On the one hand this is good news since - to judge from the description - it will be a fire station in old style.

On the other hand this is bad news since it'll be no regular set but a modular building. And I don't want modular houses in my lovely Lego City. :cry_sad:

Hey guys, try this...

Call a Lego store...ask "when does the Modular Firehouse Come out". If they say "not sure what you mean," then say "I was planning to buy the new modular Firehouse". Still no response, ask them to ask the Manager. If Manger is clueless, call a second store. They tend to guard prelim photos with their life. If you act like you already know then you may get a lead. Post positive confirmation here once you have info. I am going to call a few stores in the states...I'll post my results...

Yeah, but we want god photos and, whats more, decent information. Often at Lego stores the staff don't even know what a 1x4 plate is. :hmpf_bad:

But it might turn up SOME results, so give it ago!

Ok, it only took 4 tries...but 2 stores "know about the firehouse!". Florida says due later this year but they have no release date. Massachusetts says will not confirm (beware Massachusets, I talked to the manager, she was not happy that the info leaked; I was on the phone for 6 minutes trying to explain my way out of it...I said I saw it at the NY Toy Fair, she said there should only be "prelim photos and they are confidential")

I have a headache now...no more snooping for me :cry_sad:

Wow, but the amazing thing is that all this independent confirmation proves it's not just someone making it up. Well done! :)

Hmm. A Firehouse. That has some potential. Hopefully it has a nice interior, a detailed firetruck or other vehicle, and plenty of figures. I wonder if the firemen will have the City torso, or a new one altogether. It would be cool to see a white mold of the dog, with black spots for a dalmatian!

Copperwonder, if you are not lying, that was a very clever (yet somehow illegal :sceptic::laugh: ) Way of finding out information/confirming a rumor! Well done! (?)

Well, perhaps unfair to Lego employees, and perhaps unethical, but if true I'm happy all the same to have the confirmation! That would take some neck to phone and bluff like that!

Dark red would be nice - I'm curious as to what form this will take. Café Corner of course has Dark Red too, so hopefully the colour scheme is suitably different despite one of the same colours.

If there is a second modular building to be released too - I'm broke!

You are right, I do feel aweful, the manager was acting as if I had gotten the information from one of her employees. She did ask if I had heard about it in her store. At this point treat the modular building like a rumor and wait for the photos. This is all speculation until we have a photo and Lego is going out of their way to keep this a secret and make the experience enjoyable. (Funny thing is she even got defensive about the new train until I told her it was already online)

That is pretty funny. However, I am remaining wary about this news, no personal offense to copperwonder, its just Eurobricks has seen a fair share of liars. :hmpf_bad:

I want to believe you though, trust me.

From the way Copperwonder posted, It sounds pretty convincing. I would pester as many people as I could to get new lego news. I like the idea of a fire station, I hope it is dark red.

Well, since news has leaked, people are perfectly entitled to call their local store and ask when the new modular fire station is coming out.

It's up to the stores what information they subsequently disclose

Considering TLG's past history with leaks, individual store managers have probably been warned there are dire consequences for anyone who lets things slip early, and there is a valid reason from their point of view to identify and plug the source of the leak.

I really need to start buying the modular buildings. But I wanted the Medieval Market Square first... :cry_sad:

I have that exact same dilemma; I really want Medieval Market Village but it's probably wise to get it later as the two modulars will probably sell out at S@H first, just like market street already has.

With two more modulars this year though, it could be a long while before I have the time or money for MMV :cry_sad:

So dark red with either the light or dark blue from Market Street? Sounds like a very strange choice.

Klaus-Dieter, I´d love you to be a little more open minded on this topic. The modular house theme is a different theme than regular city. There´s basically no need at all for you to buy these or even complain about it. Those sets don´t take away a spot of regular city, just as Technic, Bionicle, Indy, Spongebob, Star Wars, Mars Mission, Rock Raiders and so on don´t take a spot of regular city sets.

There is no disadvantage at all for any regular city collector. Actually it´s the other way round. Regular city collectors are being spoiled this year with many many great sets to enhance their tabletown.

If it would be a civilian appartment building or a shop or anything TLG hasn´t published in the regular city line, I would understand complaints, that a new idea isn´t available for regular city collectors. But come on! A FIRESTATION? Why would anyone complain about not getting another firestation for their tabletown? There are plenty to chose from
