Carbohydrates Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Since they seem to favor rare colors for these, I'd love to see dark orange make an appearance, too. It's one of my favorite colors!
Holodoc Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Since they seem to favor rare colors for these, I'd love to see dark orange make an appearance, too. It's one of my favorite colors! I´m in for dark tan, but dark orange? Come on, when did you see a "normal" house in that color lately? I prefer more realistic colors (meaning no yellow/red/blue buildings). @DJForce: I´m waiting for the first set, K-D is not complaining about...
Teddy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Dear all, as long as we are putting in ideas. I have been wishing for a descent Hospital for quete some time now. So I hope they will build that one for the second building. Kind regards, Teddy
Carbohydrates Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I prefer more realistic colors (meaning no yellow/red/blue buildings). Ah, then you probably wouldn't be interested in Market Street, Cafe Corner, or a fire house. Your loss! I don't think dark orange would have the be the predominant color but I see no problem using it as an accent against brown, tan, or even white.
Derek Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Dear all, as long as we are putting in ideas. I have been wishing for a descent Hospital for quete some time now. So I hope they will build that one for the second building. Kind regards, Teddy As much as I would love to see a detailed hospital, I doubt Lego would do it in this style. Hospitals are usually stand alone buildings, not connected/on top of other ones like the modular line is. I have a good feeling we will get one out of the 2010 City line...
Eilif Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 A dark red firestation eh? Sounds awesome. As long as it's not regular red, I can't think of too many other municipal buildings that would be easier to convert into other uses. Mechanic, restaurant, light industry, etc. Heck I might even use it as a firehouse. Even just as a parts pack for making my own "brick" buildings, I'd definately pick this one up. I wonder if the firehouse or the rumored second modular building will be unveilied at Brickworld or another fan convention. From Death Star to MMVillage, LEGO seems to be continuing it's trend of unveiling AFOL targeted sets at Fan Conventions. One more reason (not that I needed one) to get to Brickworld.
Er!k Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I was more hoping for a building like a post office... There already so much fire stations out there.
Carbohydrates Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) I was more hoping for a building like a post office... There already so much fire stations out there. There are plenty of Town / City fire stations, but this is sort of a whole new line. I really look forward to their interpretation of a realistic block-style one. If you were referring to the quantity of existing fan-built modular fire stations, then I see your point. Edited March 13, 2009 by Carbohydrates
Er!k Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 If you were referring to the quantity of existing fan-built modular fire stations, then I see your point. Yes, that is what I meant... There al also some post offices out there, but almost every two or three years a new fire station arrived. Same issue for police stations and hospitals.
Eilif Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I can't name names, but I have another confrimation from a trusted source that we are in for a CC style Fire station this year.
Rick Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Any word on a release date from your trusted source? Furthermore, what I'm wondering about ever since the news about a fire station: Will an fire engine be included and if so, will it be European or North-American (I'm of course hoping it will be a detailed EU style fire truck, but I can imagine the North-Americans will think differently about this)? Will they maybe sell an engine separately so that they can offer either type? Or will they produce different versions for the different markets? Edited March 16, 2009 by Rick77

I wouldn't mind a European fire engine, but I doubt they will do different versions for the different markets. I would kind of be surprised if it included a fire engine at all, but I hope it does.
Derek Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How about some Dark/Chocolate Brown? That is my favorite new color, and if they pull it off the right way, I think it could be done beautifully. However, if it is a firehouse, I think it will be Dark Red with dark or normal tan, which still could be done beautifully. Here could be the set- Two story building, with bottom primarily dark red (maybe a brick like effect) and top primarily dark tan. Bottom story has two garages with opening doors, and office/dispatch center. Top story has beds, bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, lockers, and of course a pole to the bottom floor . 7 minifigures- Chief, receptionist woman, 3 firemen with gear, 1 firewoman with gear and 1 fireman with normal clothes. Also includes a dalmatian (white dog with black spots) and fire truck. 1000+ pieces, $100 USD
blueandwhite Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 If we're getting a fire station, I'm a bit disappointed. If only because I feel that this is something that is better left to fan MOCs. I was actually hoping for a more obscure city building like a post office or even a pub. Also, if it's a fire station a 32x32 footprint seems a bit small. Hope this doesn't end up being too big (ie. too expensive), as I've collected the first two in the series and I don't want to bail out on this one because of cost.
soc399 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Also includes a dalmatian (white dog with black spots) and fire truck. 1000+ pieces, $100 USD I would definitely have to buy it if it included a dog with spots. I've been wishing for more than brown and grey for a while. Chocolate brown is a great color, so I hope your wish for a building of it comes true. Edited March 17, 2009 by soc399
Carbohydrates Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I would definitely have to buy it if it included a dog with spots. I've been wishing for more than brown and grey for a while. A $100+ set with a 4 digit number of parts and a dog is the closer for you? I wish I was so easy to please! I agree that it would be a perfect addition to a fire station. I hope they do it.
Eilif Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 So. Could he say: Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. I didn't think to ask when it was coming out. I must say that I am quite exicted. I know there are alot of hopes about fire engines, lots of figs, etc. However, I think that looking logically at past sets, we are likely in for a set with 2-4 figures and no vehicles. My main cuiosity is whether it will be 16 or 32 wide.
Carbohydrates Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Hmm, articles about the new building have mysteriously disappeared from the brick town talk blog! Considering the reactions from managers of LEGO stores, I think it's safe to say they were contacted to remove it due to it being leaked early. edit: Which is as good an official confirmation as any, when you think about it! Edited March 17, 2009 by Carbohydrates
Rick Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) Good thing they took swift action and had it taken down immediately before the whole AFOL community heard about the news So better watch out, your posts here may mysteriously disappear one day as well... Edited March 18, 2009 by Rick77
DJ Force Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 In that case it´s time to spread the word as fast as you can
Jedifireman Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 As a full time firefighter and part time volunteer fire Chief I am so totally stoked about a new "REAL" looking firestation. I already have eight fire stations in my lego city, but would gladly welcome a more realistic looking one. The ones I've created never seem to capture that realism I've been looking for. I hope this news is true!
Tinn-man Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 At 2:26 in video, there is a set behind a black cloth with a question mark. I don't know if it's a fire station, but it definitely is a Cafe Corner style building.
Klaus-Dieter Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 At 2:26 in video, there is a set behind a black cloth with a question mark. I don't know if it's a fire station, but it definitely is a Cafe Corner style building. Possible. Remark that the masket set stands between the Green Grocer and the Taj Mahal. So it might be a CC styled building. But it even might be a collector set like Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower or CW Käfer. Klaus-Dieter

But it even might be a collector set like Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower or CW Käfer. True.. but it certainly looks "attached" to the green grocer... if it is a fire house I hope it is the old US style with the double archway doors, living area upstairs and of course, the obligutory pole! :)
