DarthSion Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 G'day mates, My name is Alan, recently came across this site when i was looking for lego star wars info on up coming 2009 sets, and when i noticed it was for adult fans i thought i would join. I recently got back into lego, i had several sets my folks bought me as a kid, mostly pirates, knights and city, and after clocking lego indi twice in a week i decided to look into star wars sets, it took me a while to get into collecting, but soon as i saw the rouge shadow and just had to have it. I am 29 from Brisbane Australia, pc nerd, star wars fan especially the clone wars tv series, and big sony fan, have all 4 consoles. Currently i have 5 sets. 1. Rouge shadow, love that set, pity you cant really get starkiller to hold the saber right. 2. General Grievous star fighter. 3. AT-TE walker. 4. LAAT, or as lego has called it the Republic attack gunship (clone wars version). 5. Imperial Star Destroyer. and all 3 lego games for my ps3, and eventually 4 when the new one comes out this year, which might even be another star wars one i heard. Hope to be a reg here, and to find some answers for my questions, like spare parts. Quote

As Matt/ Hewman said check out Bricklink as well as the Aussie sales thread for good sales and spares. Enjoy your time on EB Cheers Josh Quote

Glad to see you are interested in Lego still, you have had what we call a "dark age" a time when you did not collect/ look at Lego. How long was yours. Regards, Cpt. PB Quote

DarthSion Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 hewman, Thanks for the greeting and the Aussie price thread. I'm not sure if its a spare part, i just got the ISD and Darth Vadar has a "chrome" shiny saber hilt, and all the others i saber hilts i have are that horrible communist grey colour and i want to buy some "chrome" or what ever it is, and maybe some jedi/sith capes. I Scream Clone, Thanks for the greeting, yeah only thing is the old sets seems harder to get, and is it just me or does it seem like SW fans on here are not keen on the CW sets. Thanks for the CCB link, some interesting stuff, but i don't have any parts to do anything. Cpt. PB, Thanks for the greeting, how long was my dark age, not really sure, most of the stuff i had as a kid was what mum and dad got me for Christmas and birthday, but giving the original PSX was out in November 95 here and i bought mine just before Christmas that year, i would guess at least 13 years. Mrs Pegleg Block, Thanks for the greeting, I wonder why my jaw always hits my pc desk when i see a female into typically guy stuff. By the way i shall also mention something after an incident yesterday, i have poor spelling and grammar because i am dyslexic. Quote

Josh is from WA So we are all over the place Yeah, Adelaide boy here, not that it's a secret, I'm sure I've mentioned where I'm from when menitoning sets I've seen on clearance. hewman,Thanks for the greeting and the Aussie price thread. Not a problem. Yeah, those chrome hilts look lovely, but they are very expensive to replace. If you look at the sets that have just come out, they have this sort of shiny but not chrome look to them, which I'm sure is much cheaper to produce than the chrome and looks a lot better than the light grey ones. I'm sure someone else here will know for sure but I think it's called pearl silver. Capes aren't cheap either, my local dealer I mean stockist sells them for about $5 a pop. In Adelaide we're lucky to have a store that sells spare parts as well as sets called Toy Corner. Edited January 19, 2009 by hewman Quote
