Specever Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Specever, just because you create a thread in the forums on LEGO.com and one person replies doesn't mean the LEGO Group is going to take action on the suggestion or even be aware that you've suggested it. Ah, but they accepted the forum and are commenting on it. Quote
Legoking Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Wow, TLC rarely every excepts new topics. I have tried so many times and none of mine were approved. You got lucky. Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) I think if the 2nd Pirate-line comes out, TLC maybe will bring out a Pirate-battlepack, however,… not at this moment in my opinion. The 1st line is just out and in some countries not entirely (read: all the pirate sets in the stores). I think TLC first want to get their investment repayed before investing again. That's the natural way of business. But if we compare it with the first sets in the early years we see that TLC released very fast a "battlepack" in 1990 -> #6251 (Pirate Mini Figures). If we can count this as a battlepack of course. So I think nothing can be said with certainty and only TLC know the answer. Pirate sets timeline (source by Lugnet) The year 1989 (6 sets (2 ships)): Buried Treasure, Castaway's Raft, Forbidden Island, Caribbean Clipper (ship), Eldorado Fortress, Black Seas Barracuda (ship), The year 1990 (4 sets): Harbor Sentry, Pirate Mini Figures (battlepack), Shipwreck Island, Sabre Island #6251 (Pirate Mini Figures) - 1990 The Year 1991 (5 sets): "Desert Island", Renegade's Raft, Broadside's Brig, Lagoon Lock-up, Rock Island Refuge, The year 1992 (8 sets (1 ship)): Pirate Lookout, Battle Cove, "Pirate's Treasure Hold", Bounty Boat, Smuggler's Shanty, Raft Raiders, Imperial Flagship (ship), Imperial Trading Post, The year 1993 (6 sets (2 ships)): "Pirate's Gun Cart", Pirates' Plunder, Sea Mates (battlepack), Cannon Cove, Renegade Runner (ship), Skull's Eye Schooner (ship) #6252 (Sea Mates - 1993) The year 1994 / introduction of the Islanders (13 sets): "Shipwrecked Pirate", Barnacle Bay, "Imperial Cannon", "Pirate Cannon", "Imperial Guard Camp", "Pirate Treasure", "Pirate Island", King Kahuka, Crocodile Cage, Islander Catamaran, King Kahuka's Throne, Forbidden Cove, Enchanted Island, The year 1995 (4 sets): Pirate's Chest, Rocky Reef, Imperial Outpost, Skull Island, The year 1996 / introduction of the Spaniards (8 sets (2 ships)): Pirates Treasure Surprise, "Tidy Treasure", Skeleton Crew, Armada Sentry, Volcano Island, Armada Flagship (ship), Red Beard Runner (ship), Shipwreck Island The year 1997 (4 sets (1 ship)): Buccaneers (battlepack), Pirates Ambush, Cross Bone Clipper (ship), Pirates Perilous Pitfall #6204 (Buccaneers - 1997) The year 1998 (zip): The year 1999 (zip): The year 2000 (zip): The Year 2001 (3 sets (2 ships)): Pirate Battle Ship/Red Beard Runner (republication), Spaniard Ship/Armada Flagship (idem), Enchanted Island (idem) Edited January 30, 2009 by Capt. Capt. Kirk Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) Yes, LEGO should make sets like the 6252 and 6251 - I own both by the way... That would be great - 4 or 5 minifigs with weapons and why not 1 animal too. Think that this is realistic. Instead of canons and such. Now dreaming is pleasant but the price will be unpleasant if you want a lot more than minifigs... I don't know if these sets are official, but I think if a battlepack comes out it will look like this. That's a little harsh - all you have to do is look at the new castle set 10193 Medieval Market Village to see that they do listen. That is true Captain Zuloo, TLC has listen to the cry of the American AFOL's... and respect for that. But the Polish AFOL's also written an open letter to TLC to lower the prizes of Lego in their country because their very very high (the prices in Polish S@H are 30% to 100% higher than in other European countries). I don't know TLC will react to their cry because this community is much smaller. Differently said, their sale market is less and it's all about the money. I understand that TLC is no a benevolences institution,... but an equality in prize would be fair. Source: Polish open letter Edited January 30, 2009 by Capt. Kirk Quote
the_lego_dude Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I like the idea of battle packs very much. Especially since I can't seem to find the impulse sets anywhere where I live. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 30, 2009 Governor Posted January 30, 2009 Hmmmmm... What about an Imperial Armada Battle Pack! Quote
Scouty Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Hmmmmm... What about an Imperial Armada Battle Pack! We need Imperial Armada sets first, I think. Quote

Neptune Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I just wish they would not cost so much as the castle battlepacks. Quote
Blackheart Brit Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Don't you guys love how no matter which old minifig pack you bought you always ended up with Redbeard. The other pirate and soldiers changed but always Redbeard. I had/have all three and so I have lots of Redbeards. Quote
