They did the same thing with the grey knives in the temple of the Crystal Skull. After two attempts to explain (me to them) they just sent me the silver aquazone ones...

Hmpf. *gives CopMike a foul look* What would you do if you wanted a white Fabuland fig and without warning, you found TLC put a grey one in your set?

The grey mustache thing wouldn't bother me at all, IF there wouldn't be a brown one pictured on the box.

Mkay. Now I'm obsessing over a toy AND sounding like a leatherboy. Must get out of the danger zone...

I don't think it's that simple. They must be mixed from the start, as I got one from the very first day of release and it was grey.

There may be a regional difference - maybe the US has brown and Europe/ rest of the world is getting a mixed lot?

I am in the US (California), and mine came with a grey stach, so that is not the case. We will solve the case of the miscolored stach yet.

i got mine on saturday ? or friday can't remember wich but mine came with a brown moustache and it was form argos so im suprised with that, i was expecting the grey one

I'm reconsidering getting this. Who knows I might get lucky and get the brown. i'd say the best bet is K-mart.

Well, Lego just sent me a replacement head with GREY moustache, even though on the comments form I specifically asked them not to send until the red-brown version was available. I didn't get any other email though.

Perhaps buying from the sets you know have been in stores long enough. I hope I can pick a set up and receive the brown mustache. Prices for the full minifig are already to outrageous to purchase on BrickLink.

So, is the grey head in full production or is it mixed? I am hoping I can send for a brown one but svelte-corps doesn't fill me with hope/

The weirdest thing about all this is... "Why?" TLC apparently already produced a bunch of brown versions, so why change it halfway? Can't be for cheaping out, right? I mean - they DID a slew of brownies. And everybody likes brownies. We want brownies!

I just opened my set, and it had the grey mustache. I called customer service, and the guy told me that there was no brown mustache and it was an error in the packaging and instructions. He made it seem like they might produce (or start producing again) the brown mustache head if there was enough outcry. I got my set about a month ago from the Lego store in Pennsylvania.

I got the Flying Wing 2 days ago and alas, the grey moustache was present.

I really wonder what the reason behind the switch was.... Hopefully we will find out soon.

I bought the set today hoping that there was a brown mustache face inside and not a grey one. Though I ultimately expected a grey one, imagine my surprise when I found a brown one! I was so happy I began getting odd looks from other people in the car, but I was so happy I didn't care. Now I can make a young Captain Gordon!

I bought a second copy of the set today, figuring I would return it if I got the wrong mustache again. Happily, I got the brown mustache this time! For those of you still on the fence, I noticed that the two boxes had different lot numbers printed on the tape that seals them. The grey mustache set had 441W8, but the box with the brown 'stache was lot 303W9. Happy hunting!

EDIT: the one with the brown mustache also had Willie Scott's head instead of Marion's, but for me that was a nice bonus, too.

I just bought my set from S@H and I got the brown version of the mechanic, but I also got a different Marion head. It's not the Willie Scott head, but it is similar. I'll try to upload a picture later. It's a lot like Willie's, but the eyebrows are black and the mouth is smaller (but it still has the teeth showing).

It so happened that I got two sets. (In fact one was my cousins, but he has no unterest in minifigs, so he gave me his.) and in my set there was a "brown", head and in his it was "gray".... ) You can never guess, it seems.... )

I've tried to get the camera's zoom to focus well enough to get a good picture of it, but minifigs aren't exactly big.

I'm sure you all think I'm lying or have no clue what I'm talking about, but it'll show up somewhere else eventually. It's not like I'm a brand new member trying to get some attention.

Nope, that's not it.

The eyebrows are the same as the original Marion.

The eyes and eyelashes are almost the same as Willie's. The only difference is that the white eye dots are smaller and there's less eye shadow.

The mouth design is the same as Willie's, only it's smaller than Willie's. The lips are a natural color, not red. Teeth still show and there's no black lines.

The scared face is a lot like Willie's. Black eyebrows, smaller mouth, and teeth are clinched shut.

I wonder what this is that I've got.
