I was wondering lately, why doesn't TLC make a LDD for the Ipod Touch/ Iphone? For me, I am always really busy and on the move and sometimes during my free time, I don't feel like going to my computer, turn it on and start LDD. If TLC made LDD for the Ipod Touch, you could have some way to upload your creations you have made and transfer them from your Ipod Touch to your LDD files. In the near future, I hope TLC makes a LDD for the Ipod Touch.

I voted no. I think that while fun, it is meant to be used on a computer, using a mouse. I also think that your argument for it being good if you are "on the go" isn't such a good one (no offence) because people might get too distracted using it. As well, the screen seems too small to use it well.

Non taken Ricecracker. I love building Lego, but not so much on the computer. All I am saying is that TLC should make a LDD for the Ipod Touch for if you get bored in a car or on a train or plane. You do have a good point of looking at a small screen. All this is, is an idea.

I understand, but I also think it would become useless once/if things like this happen.

I see your point Ricecracker. But I think it would still be nice to have. I don't think kids will get addicted to this like the kids in Japan.

I realise that, and I don't think kids will get addicted, but I think they might get distracted while using it, and accidents like the ones where people are texting while crossing the street, and then they get hit by a car might be more frequent. (I didn't word that very well, did I?)

I guess having a portable LDD would be useful, but I wouldn't like having to manipulate all those little bricks on a small touch screen. In my opinion, that would be quite finicky and wouldn't be worth the effort.

No, I understand what you mean. You do have a good point. That is hard to disagree with. :pir-classic:

Interesting idea, but as someone said earlier a 3D modeling program like LDD would be very clumsy to do anything in without a mouse.

Inteface issues aside, I think it would struggle. It has only 128 MB of RAM after all. If you look at the LDD specs;

Minimum System Requirements for PC

PC: RAM: 256 MB

Hard Disk Space: 100 MB

Minimum System Requirements for Mac

RAM: 512 MB

Hard Disk Space: 100 MB

Note that the memory requirement increases. I bet that the Mac version is a rough port and thus any iPhone version would be done the same way. I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.

I just don't see it happening.

Have to keep in mind that TLC needs to make a profit from their products, one of the main points of LDD is that people buy bricks from it.

Something for 'on the go' like on an iphone is much less likely to have people produce large models that they then purchase; plus TLC would need to go through the development work of the new software and all the infrastructure to let the iphone upload and purhcase orders.

Precisely, I couldn't have put it better myself.

I'd like to see any TLC program for the iPhone. First thing I did when I got mine last week was search 'LEGO' in the applications section. There was a single result which was an official LEGO Batman game for the iPhone. I don't know anything about it as I did not buy it.

I bought lego batman for the ipod. It is really fun. It has a main story and you can play lots of games like pinball for example. I think it is a great game.

I voted Yes.

I have an iPod touch and I think that such app would be cool. But it should be free, because the LDD for PC is free.

I think you are right. It should be free.
