lumiosa Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) If you read one of my other posts, you should remember that there is a contest going on in Comunidade 0937, where one of the items was to build a miniaturized version of a set. The first miniature I build was of one of my favorite all time sets, 928 - Galaxy Explorer (this is the European reference number. sorry, don't remember the American one, but I guess you'll know what I'm talking about). I didn't quite like the final result, and submitted my mini 7627 instead. Bad choice, some of the forum members said. What about you guys, what do you think? Be blunt, I can handle it Edited January 27, 2009 by lumiosa Quote
Hewman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) I think it's excellent, I like that you added the extra touches of set 928 (497 in the US) like the base and the vehicle. I love how the back opens up like the actual 928. The only very minor criticism is that the back end that open my be a little too chunky (but seing there aren't such things as half width bricks and plates I can't see how you could have done any better), but overall I think it's great. Edit: Just noticed the mini baseplates, magnificent! Edited January 27, 2009 by hewman Quote
Siegfried Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Very nice; this could be my chance to "get" this set! Quote
WhiteFang Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Bad taste? No way! This is a great looking miniature version of the 928 and you have managed to create the exact same look in a smaller scale. I love this piece of work, similar to your earlier entry. Quote
Holodoc Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Very well done, luminosa! But how is the mini-7627 looking? I can´t imagine it being better than the Galaxy Explorer. I´d like to see pics of your other creation as well. Quote
lumiosa Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Very well done, luminosa Thanks (and all other comments), but, errrr, it's lumiosa, not luminosa. lumiosa is an acronym for my name, whereas "luminosa" would mean "something female that is bright". ok, sorry for the off-topic... the mini 7627 can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...c=25244&hl= but be aware, the photos are a bit yucky...
