Some teasers of my wip ship Sang Royale. 64 guns. The French's answer to the large British ship thats rumored to be almost finished.

The La Mort Royale's younger and slightly larger sister.

Constructive critisism:

That sail stand on the back, yeah... Needs a little more height.

The masts are not completed yet, they will be taller when Im done.

I find it awesome... nice coloursheme...

This has the potential to become one of the best ships ever build on standard hulls.

The proven colors schema looks great and I like all the details in the stern. I might borrow the idea of the toilets in the bow of the ship (next to the headrails).

As constructive feedback, I feel the blue line in the middle (where it is most narrow) looks a bit too narrow and I probably would have put some black or brown railing instead.

I'll be monitoring your progress for sure as I'm working on a very similar project.

PS: I've resized your pictures (max advisable on the Internet is 800x600), we have some tutorials here. Especially the batch resize tutorial would be a good one to study since you're interested to join the little project by myself and CGH ;-)

Incredibly cool. The colors are awesome, the rails being un even is cool, and the sloping shape is so nice! Great work man! The first picture looks nice too!

If you didn't post this, I would have suspected this was another CaptainGreenhair masterpiece .

Now it is an HMS243 masterpiece, it's looking great so far. Only thing I have as an improvement point is the part under the cabin doesn't look right.

I wish I could make such wonderfull mocs, I always have trouble with the cabin and its connection to the middle and with the tumblehome effect.

I was wondering if we could get a close up of the channel for the rigging of the main mast?

It's hard to make out what you've done on the teaser pics.

Will you be making MOC cannons for the top decks?

I hope so; the HMS Agamemnon (a UK 64-ship) had 4 and 9 pounders on the quarter deck and forecastle.

The non-MOC cannons seem too large for 4-9 pounders.

Thanks everyone for the comments and support. Im still in the process of rigging, It takes a little time and I want to make sure I get it right the first time. I will be putting custom moc cannons on the quarter and foredecks, they will be much smaller than the lego system cannons. I am still debating if I should put moc cannons on the second gundeck or use the lego system ones. You should tottaly put system cannons instead of MOC ones. I think it looks better. If you have enough.

I place non-moc cannons on the lower decks and moc-cannons on the upper decks, poop deck and forecastle. High caliber guns were placed on the lower decks to keep the ship in balance so it wouldn't collapse by a too high ammount of weight placed high on the ship. Perhaps that's a good idea for this great ship as well.

You won't let it happen it sinks like the Regalskeppet Vasa did?

In general, I think lego M-F weapons are over-sized for their scale.

I usually like to classify a lego barrel size to include a range of calibers, because there isn't too much variation in the sizes of lego barrel pieces and there is a lot of variation in the calibers of actual cannons.

In my opinion, i think it'd be fair to say that the non-MOC cannon could include calibers from 18-lb to 24-lb (possibly even a larger range).

If you're in agreement, then there shouldn't be a problem with saying that the middle deck has 18's and the bottom gun deck has 24's, both of which are non-moc cannons.

I think Phred is right about the cannons.

I think they are a bit oversized too, even for my napoleonic armies which only had up to 12pound guns (except for the howitzers which were definatly heavier).

Especcialy the gun barrels are way too big.

But back to the ship: you have done an outstanding job HMS243, especcialy the Cabin and commanddeck look very nice IMO, I look forward to seeing the completed version!

I fully expect to see this beauty battling a certain English man-o-war in a comic very soon.

Two very nice things in one picture:

1- The ship of course! I see progress in the rigging, but if I look at your title, it's not going too well.

I still can't wait till this beauty is finished. I have some issues with the rigging on my ship too...
