Posted January 28, 200916 yr The Power Miners think that their goal of protecting the energy crystals from the rock monsters is noble. The rock monsters on the other hand, not so much... Better watch your back! More pictures on Flickr. Thanks!
January 28, 200916 yr That's a nice little MOC! I like how you put firox underneath in the lava The 1x1x1 translucent studs also add a nice touch to the rocks. pat Edited January 28, 200916 yr by Patriot720
January 28, 200916 yr Great MOC, I love Power Miners and MOC's about them. I wish I could be like you, Edbeereis
January 28, 200916 yr I love the flying rock monster - it looks like he's diving into a mosh pit Clever technique to hold him in place as well. I like the glinting rock crystals and especially the differently angled 1x1 slopes in the lava section - it gives the area a bit of texture. Nice work, Erds.

January 29, 200916 yr Author Wow, this is awesome. My only concern are the orange cones that are being used as supports... Thanks! It's unfortunately too unstable without them. Is there something you would recommend using instead?
January 29, 200916 yr Thanks! It's unfortunately too unstable without them. Is there something you would recommend using instead? Maybe you could replace them with a slightly larger pillar made from slopes and bricks, it would look a little more natural. However this is still an excellent MOC by all means I to like the cave wall effect and the flying rock monster.

January 29, 200916 yr Very nice! The under area, the orange, seriously looks like it's glowing! Good work!
January 29, 200916 yr Thanks! It's unfortunately too unstable without them. Is there something you would recommend using instead? You could turn the support into an entire wall of one side to make it the corner of a lava chamber. Very nice MOC, I love all the texturing in both parts. As a suggestion, the rock monster might portray his intentions better if his mouth was wide open ready to get the miner in his mouth.
January 29, 200916 yr Author As a suggestion, the rock monster might portray his intentions better if his mouth was wide open ready to get the miner in his mouth. It actually is, it's just hard to tell from the angle. Thanks for the kind words everyone!
January 29, 200916 yr Great work I reallly love your Power Miners Moc. The first we've could ever seen. And a great idea to make two ''rooms'', from each side. ...so thanks for showing this us! Greetings 'Bricks'
January 29, 200916 yr I don't have any power miners myself (too much else on the wishlist) but I really like the premise and execution of the theme. So it's nice to see an MoC that fits in with the theme perfectly and uses the elements of it to full effect. Quite a convincing little scene captured in a moment of time. I like the simple effect acheived by the 1x1 trans bricks in the wall, and the orange lava chamber below is a nice bit of setting. I think the only way to avoid the support at the front would be to make the back wall attached to a support of about two bricks wide (possibly supported by technic rods - e.g. in 2x2 round bricks - you could hide this by attaching another plate to the rear of the supports), and also support the roof platform by constructing an arched roof from the back wall (using slopes perhaps with random bricks connected instead in places) - and possibly have technic plates between the top platform and the curved roof - attaching these techic plates to the interior wall support at the back. All of that would be a complete rebuild just for the sake of removing a pillar. So I would just go with either leaving it as is, or using trans-orange cones.
January 30, 200916 yr That´s a wonderful smooth work. I like the very fine action and the colorful neat background as well. The PM MFs with all their nifty face expression work really good for MOCing too.
