SilentMode Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I woke up a bit late, but I've come back from the Sainsbury's in Vauxhall and got lucky. They had a couple of the smaller PotC and Alien Conquest sets there; unfortunately S4 minifigures weren't discounted. Make sure you don't forget to use any triple Nectar points coupons before you pay for the Lego! (You can get some from self-service checkouts after purchases as long as you scan the card in, but you can't retroactively claim triple points.)

Were there any Harry Potter sets on offer, or is that being unrealistic?!
SilentMode Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Were there any Harry Potter sets on offer, or is that being unrealistic?! I don't think there were.
KateB Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I don't think there were. Thanks, bummer though. I soooo wish that Lego was cheaper, I need a second job to feed my addiction!
SilentMode Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I stand corrected: half price at Sainsburys does include Collectible Minifigures.
gifinim Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I went to my local Sainsburys on Monday, and they had a good selection of all size Lego sets, but this morning only the smaller sets were on the shelves. Even the labels had gone. Still, we picked up a load of the smaller City sets (the boats are very good at half price), and some Alien Conquest and Star Wars sets. Next time, I'm going in the day before and hiding a load of sets!
buddy Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Went to Sainsbury's at 10am today, a couple of hours after opening and I to be honest was expecting bare shelves. But there was still quite a bit of Lego left, I managed to bag the following all at half price : 1x 4641 Speedboat 1x 3365 Moon Buggy 4x 7049 Alien Striker 1x 2516 Ninjago Training Outpost 1x 8200 Lightning McQueen 1x 8201 Classic Mater 1x 5673 Dune Buggy 1x 4181 Isla Du Muerta 3x 8678 Ultimate Build Francesco ~buddy~
martyboy70 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Got there for them opening at 8. My mate came with me and got loads of Lego for his sons birthday at the end of November he went back in at 3 and there was nothing left. SilentMode Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Thanks again for the tip-off, but as a result I'm near broke! I will post my haul in the "What did you buy today?" thread.
MightySlickPancake Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Unfortunatly, I wasn't able to get to my local (not really local ) sainsburys until 6:30pm! There was almost nothing left, sets on the floor (im pretty sure I saw some blood as well ). Thankfully, I got Ninja Ambush and Repair Truck for a total of around £8. Not really what I wanted, but I couldn't aford to say no . Nice one to all those who got the full benifit of the deals Thanks, CB
tbroyd Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Went to Legoland yesterday making use of our standard Merlin passes. Decided to buy 10217 HP Diagon Alley making use of the 10% discount that the Merlin pass gives on the first £100 of purchases in the Lego shop. The sales assistant didn't think I was allowed a discount because its a 'hard to find' item so checked with a manager only to return and said that I was entitled to £25 off as its 'hard to find'. So I managed to get the set for £107.99 instead of £132.99 So if you have a Merlin pass and are at Legoland Windsor check out what discounts they have on the 'Hard to find' items at the back
SilentMode Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Luckily I stepped out today, because the Westfield London store has grab bags once again. There's just a few left so get there quick!
Mr Benn Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Was in the Lego shop in Liverpool today seeing as I'm here for a work meeting - some quite nice and different stuff on the PaB wall today! Sorry I haven't any pictures, but they had... 2x2 Navy blue (the same colour as the Apple Tree House roof) corner roof bricks 2x2 yellow tiles 1x2 roof slopes in blue & green 2x4 Dark red bricks (not seen them in this colour before!) 2x2x2 white roof slops (the same shape as the dresses) White doors and the barred door (but no door frames!) Also lots of nice little bricks such as black and tan 1x2 flats to fill up the gaps... And finally some really good random stuff in the build a minifig section - no good heads, but there were child legs in tan and purple, medieval skirts, quite a good variety of female headpieces and some really random accessories - I found croissants, plates, translucent pink chefs hats and mugs, and some strange thing that looked like a baby bottle or a mustard squeezy bottle in white with a handle! Maybe old Belville pieces?! No other sale stuff though sadly, and they'd run out of the Christmas giveaway set so no incentive to spend too much there!
Trent Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Thanks for the information. Were the 1x2 flats studded or tiles?
Thego Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 The Padawan Menace DVD and Blu-ray is now available in Tesco. Picked up the Blu-ray for the Young Han Solo minifig.
lukeyboymac Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) Luckily I stepped out today, because the Westfield London store has grab bags once again. There's just a few left so get there quick! Good shout. Went today and did my first pab. Got chatting to a nice guy who worked there who showed me the grab bags which I didn't see when I first went in. It's been fun rediscovering Lego. Edited November 2, 2011 by lukeyboymac
SilentMode Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 On the way back from Bluewater, peeved off. If you're going there to claim the Brickley set, be advised they have an undisclosed "daily quota" - basically if you get there too late in the day they won't give you one. I guess it's karma for my Brickley review! On another note: the Christmas baubel decorations are in stock, and appear to be half price. There are also Christmassy polybags and a Father Christmas magnet set.
Mr Benn Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Thanks for the information. Were the 1x2 flats studded or tiles? Studded - if I was really organised like in the other PaB thread I could show a big layout fo what I bought... but I'm not :P
surrideo Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Very random. Just passed through Glasgow central WH Smiths and they had a stash of lego polybags up where they have the collectable minifigures, card games etc. They had a lot of the ninjago polybags from the first wave of Sun promotion this year: Skeleton chopper, Glider and Dragon fight. Interestingly they had small boxes too( about 5 of each) of 8072 an atlantis set and 7305 a pharoahs quest . Buy one get one free, £2.99 each. I left the pharoahs quest one, got the atlantis box plus the three atlantis 30040,30041 and 30042. Im guessing these were from an old paper promotion?
roxio Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Any Tesco insiders ? They must be due a 3for2 soon, most other major retailers have had theirs.....

D
mutley777 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Any Tesco insiders ? They must be due a 3for2 soon, most other major retailers have had theirs..... I think this has been replaced with club card exchange offer that has just started again.
Thego Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Asda is now selling the Children in Need LEGO Pudsey, if anyone is interested. It was on the display with all the other CIN stuff at my local store today.
martyboy70 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Did you see how much they were?-I'm interested in one of these for my son.
flat_four Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Did you see how much they were?-I'm interested in one of these for my son. They were £4 in the ASDA near me.
