The professor was doing well in his new job. THe dangers of scientific research were too much for him

so he had chosen a safer career path - he had become a dealer in diamonds and precious stones.

penguin1.jpg

He was on his way now to close his biggest deal yet.

He was feeling good. He was trying out his new wig, and felt quite the distinguished gentleman.

penguin2.jpg

Suddenly, out of nowhere, he was held up by two armed penguins.

penguin3.jpg

penguin4.jpg

Who could the shadowy villan behind this sinister crime be?

penguin5.jpg

Why, it's the penguin, with his army of robotic penguins, making his escape on his giant yellow duck.

All is not lost, here comes Robin in his speedboat, perhaps the Penguin should speak to his boat-dealer.

Perhaps he would get away quicker if he paddled...

The Penguin's dastardly robotic penguins attack...

penguin15.jpg

penguin16.jpg

... but are blasted to pieces by Robin's jets.

penguin17.jpg

Likewise the Yellow duck is blasted by Robin's cannon's.

The penguin's plans have been foiled but he is at least glad he always keeps his brolly handy.

Sadly for the professor Robin arrived too late to save his wig:

The Big Yellow Duck is of course inspired by 'Batman Returns'

Hilarious little story

A great story, and a great moc. Wow I really love the yellow chuck, that looks in an Gotham scene really funny.

And your red/white car is an perfect creation, he looks like an modern sports car.

So all in all a fantastic mix of creation and comic...

...~thanks~

Great story, and excellent figures. I really like the engine on the back of the speedboat. And as for the duck... fabulous. It would have been better than getting the Penguin's submarine.

An indeed superb duckie and a very nicely presented story as well!

The car´s smooth in a fine color scheme and Robin´s speedboat´s interesting with the use of that

windscreen over the already nicely sloped surface and it looks for sure pretty fast with that neat engine.

Fantastic as always Righteous Squid!

Love the proffesor's new car, too bad as always he has the worst of luck!

That Penguin Yellow Duck is a thing of sheer genius! I love it so much!

No seriously, that thing is so beyond perfect we may have to invent a new word to describe it!

Robin's Speedboat is also terrific, though I'm not sure on the glass canopy being filled under, I'd leave space for tools and whatnot. Still great though, I love the way you've balanced out the colours evenly.

Can we get a pic of the yellow duck's construction better though please? I'd love to make my own if that is okay with you :sweet:

Thanks. It’s not my favorite car that I have made, so it’s nice to know that it still has charm for others.

Thanks. Though I do like the submarine I was meaning to suggest the yellow duck in the thread for Batman sets we would like to see, but it became obvious that there not going to be any more sets produced so I decided to set about making my own. Elsewhere I posted my Bat Mech that I would loved to have had in a set with Bane, a collapsible wall, a lamppost and a phone-box (Inspired by my son’s favorite episode of ‘The Batman’). Let’s hope in the future someone decides to produce a more child friendly Batman film and gives Lego a reason to reacquire the license.

Thanks. It’s nice to build for Robin, even though I have very little in the way of green, red and yellow (it annoys me that the hull is mostly grey), since I can be a little bit more extravagant and over the top than in my Batman designs.

A very nice story and excellent creations! The car has nice lines, whilst the duck is pure win! The speedboat cuts a fast figure through the water.

Its allround  from me.

Thanks. The speedboat does float quite well in fact, though perhaps it sits a little lw at the back due to the weight of the engine. I may try to fix that sometime.

Thanks, I honestly didn’t think it would turn out as well as it did.

I think you are right about the canopy on Robin’s speedboat. I built it after building one for Killer Croc along similar design (Which I hope to post soon), but had to add the slopes under it to get a good colour scheme. I was intending to try out the curved windscreen from the Speed Racer cars once I have received them (I work in Africa so it will be the summer before someone can bring them). In the meantime you prompted me to try another windscreen which I hadn’t tried because they were all in use.

Pictures of construction are at the end of my post.

Sorry I took so long getting the pictures of the duck’s construction posted (I’m working toward a thesis deadline and am terribly behind). Some of the choices in construction are due to the limited pieces available (I hate Lego yellow so I tend not to buy any predominantly yellow sets. I’m hoping the warmer yellow from the penguin sub will become more common). If you have any suggestions for improvement please let me know. Originally I had wanted the wings to raise to reveal cannons but I’m not sure whether that could be achieved on the same scale. I certainly don’t have the right pieces, though I may experiment with non-yellow pieces when I find the time.

Awesome sleek designs.

I love the rubber duck

Thanks. I had actually intended to purchase the Assault Tiger to get yellow pieces but it was sold out when I went online to order. I’m glad it was now as I decided to try and see what I could make with the limited selection of yellow pieces I had available and it resulted in a much more compact and sleeker version than I had planned. I had to take apart my yellow car to do it but it was worth it.

Though I'm not a great fan of Returns-stule penguin and his vehicles there, you did a nicve job. )

Thanks. I’m not a fan of the Batman Returns penguin as a character either. I watched it just a couple of months ago after not having seen it for years and he still spoils the film with his over the top freakery. I do however love the yellow duck and I think it fits with my own preferred concept of the penguin’s character as someone who is extremely eccentric rather than a freak. I think stylewise it also fits better with the cartoony feel of Lego Gotham than with the film version.

Thanks a heap for the instructions Righteous Squid! Much appreciated. Oddly enough, I had already built mine from looking at your pictures, though I did go back and correct a few tidbits, so thanks a lot for that!

I understand the annoyance of yellow pieces, as I deconstructed my Aquaraiders theme a year ago to find I had nothing else to do with the pieces, so atleast I got rid of a few of them!
