I actually liked that episode. The stories behind Jacob and TMIB were finally revealed, both of which I found fascinating.

I loved that episode, and find it really interesting how mixed fan reactions have been. I've been listening to the Orientation podcast and that episode had the reviewers firmly conflicted. One reviewer thought it was great, another was mixed, and the third thought it was pure cheese.

I didn't love the SFX, but the 'light' seemed to fit well with the season 4 (?) episode where Ben spun the donkey wheel to shift the island in time.

So today's the big day. On the one hand I'm happy we're getting a conclusion, but on the other I'm sad that I won't be able to look forward to a new LOST episode each week. Ah well, life goes on; hopefully the finale won't disappoint me too much.

I dug the whole season, though the temple was stupid, in retrospect. I liked it at the time though.

I'll be watching the finale around roughly 1pm Tokyo time when it's fully uploaded to the bit torrents.

Agreed. Some parts from this season seemed unnecessary, and nothing was really explained until after Dogen died.

But yeah, I'm excited for this! I can't wait to see how it all... everything from the last six years... ends. I have a horrible feeling that this will leave another giant hole in television, though, right next to The Sopranos. :cry_sad:

I'm also interested in those alternate endings on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Are they legit endings that were actually thought up and filmed by the studio, or just spin-off endings by Kimmel's studio?

It's gonna be a sad day, but I won't be watching it till late monday!

My bets; One alternate for the original timeline, one for the alternate timeline, and one for... Dama. Don't have a third one!

I have a theory for tonights episode.

I think Linus is just playing his cards right and has'nt actually gone back to his old ways completely. He's probably plotting to kill the MIB and is just going along with him until the opportunity arises to do so. I personally think he is going to be the one to kill the MIB in the end.

I think that in our universe, all our characters that we're rooting for (Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Hugo, etc..) are going to get killed. I think the MIB will get killed and that the island will get destroyed keeping the light/heart of the island safe from any future threats. The island does'nt seem to exist in the alternate timeline so this makes me think that it gets destroyed in ours. BTW was'nt it underwater in the alternate universe? If so then it must have gotten destroyed which is deffinitly some clever foreshadowing.

Therefrore all the characters get great endings in the alternate universe while the ones we all know and love die in our universe. It's the ultimate happy/tragic ending.

Only three hours now

Incredible just.... incredible! That was an amazing ending to a brilliant show.

I am very satisfied with how it ended yet a part of me feels sad it's over.

Wow... just an amazing way to end a great show. I'm at a loss for words.

Agreed, I'm blown away. LOST starts with an eye opening and ends with the closing, simply poetic. :cry_sad: I love how they managed to work in the message of faith without actually saying "they all go to heaven" or "Christianity is the best!"; even the stained glass window in the church encompassed all different types of faith. And how about Vincent, any guesses to what he symbolizes.

One thing I'm murky about...I'm assuming the last shots during the credits was the remains of the Ajira plane that crashed; if it was, where was Lapidus, Richard and Miles? Were they "not ready"?

Maybe, or maybe everybody from the original plane crash died in that crash. I think that the wreckage was the original oceanic 815 from the first episode.

Actually, what I was thinking about when they showed the stained glass window was the candidates. For some reason. For example, Sun and Jin (we never found out if it was their kid who was the candidate...) would be represented by the Ying-Yang symbol, because they finally found that they were a perfect match for each other. And the star and moon would represent Jack because he was a "man of science" (astronomy). A little whack, but that's what I was thinking in that scene.

I agree with Forresto, I think that was the 815 wreckage. Remember, Christian said that some died before, and some died long after Jack. Miles, Kate, Lapidus, etc. could've very well died. I think the "heaven" scene takes place far into the future, possibly hundreds of years, because Hurley and Ben were there. Remember that Hurley became the new Jacob, and Jacob's replacement had to "take care of the island for as long as he could". And since it seems that Jacob was living for a very long time, the same might be true for Hurley and Ben.

What I'm curious about is why some of the characters weren't at the church. There's the possibility that they simply couldn't get all the actors back at the same time, but their stories were never explained. Characters like Paula, Nikki, Eko, Ana Lucia, Walt... none of them were there. Are they trapped on the island like Michael, or were they just not important enough to be there? Yet, characters like Boone were there...

EDIT: By the way,

are the "alternate endings".

I was mixed by the ending. Some of it I liked (Ben and Hurley working together! Sawyer's romantic kiss), some I didn't (the plug let the light go out, so smokey became mortal :sceptic: )

I liked the series overall, but I think the four-toed statue should never have been brought up. I loved seeing it at first, but the point that it was never followed up...

Yeah, the whole literal cork thing was a little too much for me. :sceptic:

So was the universe of the flashsideways purgatory so to speak? That whole thing is still a little nebulous to me.

But then what happened to all the rigged C4 on the Ajira plane?

The MIB took it out and put in Jacks bag. It was that C4 that was responsible for the deaths of Sayid, Sun and Jin.

Saw the finale, beautiful. Severn of my favourite characters survived (Lapidus, Miles, Rose, Bernard, Ben, Hurley and Claire ( ))! Not everything was answered, but I like a little ambiguity.

They didn't really answer much clearly in the finale, but what I think it is is the world the Losties created when they crashed on the island, with the help of Juliet blowing up the hydrogen bomb. It was the world in which everyone from the island had a better life, because they never crashed on the island. And, they all knew each other (once they realized it), so it was like heaven on earth. But still earth.

Then, at the end, the church was when they "moved on". Together. To heaven, or whatever's beyond. And the reason (which I asked for earlier), that some characters weren't at the church, I think, is because they weren't taken with. Eloise asked Desmond if he was taking Daniel with them, and he answered "no". So maybe that's why [dead] characters like Eko and Michael didn't come with - they had more important parts of their lives than the island. Eko's being his life in Africa, and Michael's being his son (even though he was trapped on the island).

Another question is, when does the meeting at the church take place? Well, Christian did say that "there's no where or when... here", so I guess that explains why characters like Ben and Ana Lucia were still living in the what-if-the-plane-never -crashed world, yet characters like Hurley and Jack had already died (not only on the island).

Can you tell I've given this lots of thought?

Yes! I enjoyed seeing Lapidus, Rose, and Bernard again. :cry_happy:
