February 7, 200916 yr A question - For the wall segment in my entry, can I have there be a gaping hole in it? The hole would be self-contained within the module and the connection points would still be there. I'm sure it would be fine if it was relevant to the module. What module are you thinking of doing? Erdbeereis - Good idea for your new banner, although I must say that you're old one is much better! Edited February 7, 200916 yr by 3D Brickthing
February 7, 200916 yr O.K., who changed my signature?! Why oh why must you torture me? This was not my doing! EDIT: Now we're talking! You can make your own banner but please don't deface the superioty that is the Beta Banner Silly Alphans always trying to cut us down. Classic Tall Poppy syndrome A question - For the wall segment in my entry, can I have there be a gaping hole in it? The hole would be self-contained within the module and the connection points would still be there. We even have a hole in the wall repairs module for you to choose from, so its fine. February 7, 200916 yr here here, its like he still has feelings about missing out on Beta It's true, I cry myself to sleep every night, longing for Beta. I'll start on my module soon. Just have to take apart my kitchen module first.
February 7, 200916 yr Author So I take it that the larger modules cannot be entered in this contest? Ah well, I'll have to see if I can build a 16x16 model as well, although the front gates are going to keep me pretty busy! At this point, we're going to keep the entries limited to 16 x 16 modules. Sorry if this dissuades you from entering.
February 7, 200916 yr At this point, we're going to keep the entries limited to 16 x 16 modules. Sorry if this dissuades you from entering. That's OK, I've got plenty of time, perhaps I will try my hand at a 16x16 module as well. I'll have to finish this gatehouse first though, and I've still got a fair bit to do.
February 7, 200916 yr Sadly I'll not be able to enter this contest :/ I'm quite out of time recently , anyway, I'll watch it as a fan! ^^
February 7, 200916 yr Out of time! Sadly my time is running thin as well. Of course I will muddle through with an entry anyway.
February 8, 200916 yr Question: That I don't think has been answered before hand Would I be able to enter my bakery as I have not yet fully entered it into the build but I have posted pics of it ages ago. So would I be able to use that as my entry, save having to make up a completley new random module. Also What was the point of poeple like thrask making a million and one supperb entry's when only two may now be entered? I would hate for them to go to waste so to speak A very Buttons

What was the point of poeple like thrask making a million and one supperb entry's when only two may now be entered? I would hate for them to go to waste so to speak Well, I guess there was no point if you don't think it's worth building just for the fun of it. While I Scream Clone may be able to answer this better than me, my hope for this contest is to have fun, encourage people to build, and perhaps gain some more interest for the Community Castle Build. It is in no way meant to be a smack in the face of those who have previously built modules.

It is in no way meant to be a smack in the face of those who have previously built modules. Buttons, this competition in no way cheapens what has come before it. Thrash and all the other previous contributors had fun making all the unique modules, hence why they continue to be a strong part of the community aspect of the build (and all the trash talking). As Sir Dillon mentioned the competition is to get more people excited about what we are doing here, and hopefully pick up a few new members who will become long term contributors too. The fact that everyone must submit new creations is ideal as it stimulates the brain to move forward rather than relying on past creations and challenges all involved to create new exciting modules. There is nothing stopping people revolutionizing previous designs from other members, we would just prefer you don't submit creations that were already WIP as it is an unfair advantage to others who have just started to build now. In finishing, we will be voting as a community on which team is the best anyway, so people like Thrash etc who have submitted multiple creations still have a chance of being the best team,......at least until we run the whole show again in another year or so. So get on creating Buttons and surprise us with some creations, who knows you might help your team win and also claim a free impulse set for your trouble

I would hate for them to go to waste so to speak I appreciate your concern Buttons, however, I do not feel as if the contest is unfair to those who have already created modules. I was going to continue creating modules regardless of the contest coming along, so the prospect of winning the contest and getting a prize is just an added bonus!
February 8, 200916 yr To Sir Dillon, I scream clone and Thrash. I take your points however I still have another question. This contest, is not the final contest where all the modules are pickes is it? If so ... I don't know what to think
February 8, 200916 yr Author This contest, is not the final contest where all the modules are pickes is it? I'm sorry, but I am not sure of what you're asking. Are you wondering if this will be the last CCB contest?
February 8, 200916 yr Interesting contest; thanks, guys, for putting it up! Does the module have to be one of the listed in the actual EB Community Build thread, or can it be something new and different, yet stil following the guidlines? Thanks!
February 8, 200916 yr This contest, is not the final contest where all the modules are pickes is it?If so ... I don't know what to think No, this is not where we pick what modules will be the final modules for the EBCCB. It is my understanding that this is just a fun contest that ISC and Sir Dillon are hosting to encourage participation in the EBCCB and a fun little challenge for those already participating. Does the module have to be one of the listed in the actual EB Community Build thread, or can it be something new and different, yet stil following the guidlines? I don't think that it does have to be on the list. Anything is fine as long as it fits in with the theme of a medieval walled city. ~Thrash
February 9, 200916 yr Judges, I was hoping that you could give me a ruling on whether or not the staircase on the front of my Wolfpack Embassy is allowed. I assumed that it would be fine since many of the modules so far have had overhangs on the front that don't prevent them from fitting between two other modules still. Here's a picture: ~Thrash

I assumed that it would be fine since many of the modules so far have had overhangs on the front that don't prevent them from fitting between two other modules still. Here's a picture:~Thrash I have no problem with slight overhang at the front of outside modules, as you mentioned there have been many previous modules like this and the still join up without a problem to other modules. I will talk to Sir Dillon and possible add a description one way or the other to the rules. Stay tuned
February 9, 200916 yr I would think that only overhangs from higher up would be better, because if we do assemble some of the castle, straight in front of the modules there would be a street wouldn't there? If there are ground overhangs, then they would get in the way of the street...Of course, seeing as it would be a long time before we can assemble a decent portion of the castle, I presume it would be OK to have one or two overhanging modules, as they can always be fixed later.

February 9, 200916 yr I have a question similar to Thrash's: Let's say there's something that's overhang, like his stairs, on the front. Can that over hang go out the sides a bit?
February 9, 200916 yr I think as long as you're not cheating, then it would be good. No stacking is a basic rule of thumb. Seems fine, and looks very nice Thrash!
February 9, 200916 yr I think as long as you're not cheating, then it would be good. Really? I thought you were supposed to cheat..............
February 9, 200916 yr Author I have a question similar to Thrash's: Let's say there's something that's overhang, like his stairs, on the front. Can that over hang go out the sides a bit? I'll discuss this with ISC, but at the moment my thoughts are no. The modules should be able to connect to each other at the sides, so having structures protruding over the sides would not work. Small things higher up like a tree branch might be okay.
