diabloiij Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If a set's status on Lego.com is under "sold out" does it mean it's gone for good? can any experienced Lego store online member tell me will Lego store online restock their "sold out" inventories. I finally got enough money together to purchase a set on Lego.com and now it said it is sold out. Please help! Thank you in advance. Quote

Just because something is sold out doesn't necessarily mean that it will disappear, but there is a better chance that it will be gone for a while. If the set is still available but they don't have enough, it will be on backorder. Your best bet is to go to Target or Toys r' Us to look for the set. Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If it's an older set then it may be gone for good.... What are you after ? Dr. D. Quote
mrchris Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 'sold out' sets often seem to come back 'no longer available' is often seen on stock that was in the sale that is discontinued. Quote

VBBN Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Lego 7661 Jedi fighter with booster ring. Your best bet is to find it on Ebay or Bricklink, as they most likely won't restock it after 2 years. Quote
Oky Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Lego 7661 Jedi fighter with booster ring. Oh no! I wanted to get that one, too, before it's gone! I hope they restock it. It's still in stock on the Toys'r'us website (Link), so if you really want it I would order it! Quote

I Scream Clone Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 oh thank you so much! does this set worth 50 dollar ? I got it, and I rate it a good set, not a great set. The fighter is nice and the figs too, the booster is just a lot of technic and plates. A quick look on eBay shows its going for over $50 US so maybe TRU is the way to go. Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 That set is listed as "call to check product availability" on the Lego site, so it may be gone. I always assume that if a set is showing at a lower price on the Lego website then they are clearing stock and it likely won't return after they have sold what they have. Call them as the website suggests, and if you don't have any luck you'll be able to pick one up off ebay if you're patient. Dr. D. Quote

I wondered the same thing - either it's available or it isn't ! Wish I could buy items on the U.S. Lego site, though - last I looked they were selling the UCS Death Star II for 200 bucks ! Dr. D. mania3 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 That set is on sale for about $35 at all LEGO retail stores if you can manage to get to one. They have it in abundance. I got one the other day and I think that's an amazing price for that really cool set. Quote
slimninj4 Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Yes I saw this set on sale at the lego store near me. Quote
natelite Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 on north America Lego.com it is sold out. and I always wonder why do we have to call to check for availability? they don't know what they have in the warehouse? it's probably because they have very few sets left and didn't want to risk overselling. there's a slight time lag between your ordering and the stock updating. and within this time lag another buyer may think there is still stock and make the purchase when there isn't any more in stock. this actually happens with amazon.com. i bought a sail barge which was delayed and delayed and delayed and eventually cancelled by amazon.com. by forcing you to call, the longer processing time will allow the system to catch up as well as allow for better human control over the process. They still had like four of them. Definitely beats paying more than full price on toysrus.com. I knew waiting would pay off. It usually does. That's why I'm waiting to get the RGS, 'cause it's not worth $120 for me. Quote
