Wait, those are building toys? There are so many massive pieces I couldn't tell.

They actually did alot better than i expected. The tank appears to be the only one with excessivly large parts. The aircraft and even the 4x4 (i think thats the warthog, or warhog?) aren't bad. The figures look to have alot of detail as well. I could only imagine what lego could have done with this license. Oh well.

Thanks for the link, Corpreal363.

The sets look pretty nice by MB standards I guess... but well, nothing that couldn´t be MOCed in a by far more brick related way with LEGO... :sweet:

if you havent seen this, Megablocks and Microsoft have teamed up to make halo wars megablocks, but if microsoft were smart enough, they could have picked lego.

here are the sets (btw these are not official names)

Warthog vs Plasma Turret (Spartan/1 SMG, Elite/1 Energy Sword)

UNSC Turret (3 Spartans/1 Shotgun/ 1 SMG)

Pelican vs Banshee (1 Spartan/ 1 Assault Rifle, Flamer/ 1 flamethrower, Grunt, Elite/ 1 energy sword)

Scorpion Tank (Red Spartan/ 1 SMG, Elite/1 Energy Sword)

UNSC Hornet (Spartan/ 1 shotgun, Grunt)

Covenent Ghost (Grunt, Elite/1 Energy Sword)

i know that they would have been better if they were lego but they look ok.

As a fan of Halo... i'm going to go cry. Okay let's see if we can see the good side of this the elites and grunts look ok. The vehicles look okay for Mega blocks. The only reason I would pick up any of these is for the elites, grunts and maybe the guns.

On the bright side at least we know what a flood infected Master Chief looks like.

but you didnt see the images or sets

But this is a LEGO site, this doesn't belong in Licensed since it isn't a LEGO license, and we already have a useless thread devoted to it anyway.

In the game of "but" "but" "but", I win.

Merged.

I agree, I actually might buy one just for the main character fig which I always thought was cool.

We consider MEGA brands to be one of the premiere leaders in the constructible toys and games category.

Although I have to say that this is a load of shit

Lego for the win! :tongue::thumbup:

While LEGO shouldn't go for an FPS-license for obvious reasons as already discussed, no one has bothered to mention another obvious reason: Halo is a Microsoft exclusive game. Outside of the U.S., Microsoft is still far from monopolizing the console gaming market. While Halo is a huge franchise, it is still far from the (nearly universally) appeased Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Sure there are themes like Avatar and Speed Racer showing that LEGO could go for licenses with smaller audiences, but these might have a better fitting target demography.

To get back to the console exclusive issue. Consider this: A Killzone, Zelda or Little Big Planet license.

Thank you for the link, JimboJones!

Man, Megabloks has done a superb job on these kits! The figures, while not to my taste, are very well detailed, and the weapons look awesome. And the vehicles and turrets are incredible! :sweet: I'm glad that they are steering away from tons of huge pieces in this new line, and are instead using lots of smaller bits that will be very compatable with lego kits. I'd really like to see someone buy some of these and combine them with Brickforge Halo figures.

I think my faith has been renewed in MB, and I'm glad to see that TLC will finally be getting some decent competition again. :classic:

Thing is, though, is that you're a mod. You're going to win all the games. Cheater.

These sets do not look that good, not just that they're Mega Bloks. Also that I cannot tell which one's the Warthog without deduction. Shouldn't the most recognizable vehicle from the games be recognizable in plastic?

As a huge fan of the Halo games and Halo Wars  I'm glad someone got the license, however MB look like they've strayed from the target a wee bit here.

I think that, while the silhouettes are okay, when you actually look at them, its Plasti-Crap.

Luckily for me, I've ordered huge amounts of BrickArms Halo weapons and BrickForge Space Marine armor sets.

... Shall I tell you about my project?

Okay, LINK!
