DarthSion Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) Well as usual i will throw my 2cents in. UCS Jedi Star fighter, one with out just a droid head. Damn it, cant think of what its called, the big CIS ship that deploys MTT. Edit, fine, you win, ATOT is NOT UCS, even though lego made it, and sell it, and designed it, and put it in the UCS section of the website, and is supposed to be S@H, its still not UCS, you win, im done splitting hairs. This thread has become so anal. Edited February 20, 2009 by DarthSion Quote

Lego designed the 10195 like a UCS. -_-' The section where the model is sold doesn't mean anything. Otherwise, 10144 is also UCS. -_-' So, 10195 is not UCS. Actually, the section on S@h regroups the Collector models. There is a difference between a Ultimate Collector model (13 models), and a Collector model (10188, 10144, 10195, 10186, 10178 and many others), even if they are sold in the same section on the website. ;) Edited February 20, 2009 by Anio Quote
Legoman Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Edit : the 10026 is AWESOME !!!! :D Really? Why? sure, mabye it was a good ship, but not as a UCS. It was small and pathetic IMO If the General is a UCS set, why aren't the rest of the pesky technic sets too? He's nothing but a technic built model which is much the same as the ones done with: Darth Vader Stormtrooper R2D2 C3P0 Pit Droid Hailfire Droid and so forth. Check the review index for a complete list of those. Doesn't it say "Ultimate Collector's Set" on the 10188 Death Star? Wouldn't that make it a UCS? We've seen plenty of different UCS designs over the past ten years, so saying that it has to have that special design is a little difficult, since we don't know how the next UCS set's box-design would be. No. Grevious is definatly UCS. He's not a technic figure. He includes a plaque and stand, and he's huge. The other technic sets sucked, and were... Nothing. Grevious is a large model that is a UCS set IMO As for 10188...... I am a bit confused about this one. First off, no, it doesn't say UCS on the box. And No, it's not a UCS set. It seems to be an extreme collector's model. Bigger than ever. It's definately not UCS, but it's pritty close in my books. It's the biggest non-ucs Set lego has ever done. But people seem to love it, and it's nice. I wish i had the money for one, but atm i'm saving for 10019. Quote
KimT Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 This is a list with the UCS/10000's sets. UCS/10000's 7181 Tie Interceptor 7191 X-Wing 7194 Yoda Sculpture 10018 Darth Maul Sculpture 10019 Rebel Blockade Runner 10026 Naboo Starfighter 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer 10123 Cloud City 10129 Snowspeeder 10131 Tie Collection 10143 Death Star 10144 Sandcrawler 10174 AT-ST 10175 Vaders Tie 10178 Motorized AT-AT 10179 Millenium Falcon 10186 General Grievous 10188 - Death Star Taken from the Review topic. - I know the 10195 Republic Dropship & AT-OT isn't on it. Just thought I'd post it to keep us all up to date on what we're discussing here. I'm off to check box-designs and will post them here shortly. Quote
Legoman Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Please don't take this the wrong way, but where did you get that list? Is it supposed to be all 10XXX sets, UCS sets, or both? Prehaps that list should be revised... Quote
KimT Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Says "Ultimate Collector Series/Ultimate Collector's" on the box: Does not say so on the box: And what can we make from this? Isn't this the full Star Wars list on 10000's and UCS sets? Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Thorough job as ever, Kim. According to Lego S&H, Grievous is a UCS, as is the Motorized AT-AT, so box art unfortunately doesn't provide the answer. Earlier in this thread I accused TLC of making it up as they go along, and I stand by that. Still, they can keep making it up for as long as they like, providing they keep providing us with such awesome sets ! Dr. D. Quote

I was told any set Over $100 goes under UCS on S@H As far as i'm concurned, lego is wrong. I continue to stand by my list of UCS sets OK lets see, Many people have many opinions on this but here's my veiw:UCS sets: Are BIG. Are Expencive. Are Detailed. Are Iconic Ships Have a Display Plaque (OR they are a statue type thing) Having a Display Plaque is the main part for me. Here's the list of sets i would say are UCS 7181: TIE Interceptor 7191: X-wing Fighter 7194: Yoda 10018: Darth Maul 10019: Rebel Blockade Runner 10026: Special Edition Naboo Starfighter 10030: Imperial Star Destroyer 10129: Rebel Snowspeeder 10134: Y-wing Attack Starfighter 10143: Death Star II 10174: Imperial AT-ST 10175: Vader's TIE Advanced 10179: Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon 10186: General Grievous And i have Brickset on my side! That's right, Not: Sandcrawler Death Star Cloud City Etc. Quote
Anio Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) An email from TLC, read on FBTB : Thank you for your interest in LEGO® brand toys. We are always delighted to hear from a loyal LEGO enthusiast. What a great debate!! I was so happy to review your email and be able to provide you with an official LEGO end to your LEGO Star Wars debate. The basic answer to your question is that only sets marked as "Ultimate Collector's Series" items are apart of the UCS. Legoman Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) Thank you for your interest in LEGO® brand toys. This does not necessarily mean they do or do not include a plaque or stand, it simply will say "Ultimate Collector's Series." In addition, we also have several sets that are collector€™s items such as the Death Star (#10188), Imperial AT-ST (#10174), or Motorized Walking AT-AT (#10178) but are not included in the UCS. There is not an official correlation between item number and a set's membership in the Ultimate Collector's Series. You are absolutely right in recognizing a pattern in their similarities, but there is not an official connection. From my research I found that #10123 Cloud City is not in the UCS. The other sets you asked about, #10018 Darth Maul and #7194 Yoda, are members of the Ultimate Collector's Series. As for a UCS Salve I, we did have a mini Slave I a few years back called Jango Fett's Slave I #7153 but it was not UCS and there are not any plans that I am aware of to release a new Slave I set. In short, if it does not expressly say "Ultimate Collector's Series" on it then it is not a member of the series. I hope this information successfully settles the debate for your group of devoted LEGO fans! If there is anything else that I can help you with please do not hesitate to let me know! Samantha LEGO Direct Consumer Services EH? I don't know anyone that would say the AT-ST isn't UCS! As far as i'm concurned, lego is wrong. Edited February 20, 2009 by legoman Quote
Skipper 24 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I would like a UCS of the ROTS Jedi Starfighter in yellow. I think probably TLC will just make special editions now instead of UCS. Quote
Legoman Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I would like a UCS of the ROTS Jedi Starfighter in yellow. I think probably TLC will just make special editions now instead of UCS. Ooops, missed the ongoing discussion. If you keep to discussing what a UCS set is and UCS sets in general, then this is ok with me. If this turns into a discussion on what you'd like, then there's a topic for that. In my opinion, UCS sets are numbered within the 10000's. Yes the Death Star is a UCS set. It's made for Ultimate Collectors. UCS doesn't neccesarily mean that the set is a huge model like the Millenium Falcon or the ISD. As quoted, this topic is for disscussing UCS set is and UCS sets in general. Not what UCS set's we want. There are other topics that are for that Quote
nickvig Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I've just gotten back into lego and have been checking out the various SW sets. The UCS sets are greatly detailed but I can't seem to find out how they are scaled. I've done some searching and they seem to be all over the place e.g. the UCS Y-Wing came with a minifig and R4 unit, but the UCS Snowspeeder is scaled for 4" action figures. I can't seem to find anything that shows a detailed scale. Is there a list which shows the scale of the different UCS sets? Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Commander_Rob Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 To my knowledge there is no comparison chart or anything that shows different UCS models together and, as far as I know they greatly vary in scale, with even some minifig-scale vehicles like the motorized AT-AT or the Sandcrawler being called UCS-sets. However I don`t know too much about the topic but there are members of this forum who have specialized on this scale so they might be able to help you. Quote
SWMAN Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Lego S@H will tell you the sizes for all the USC sets they have listed. If you want other ones, I would go to eBay and search for the ones you want. The seller will probably either list or tell you the size. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 As Commander_Rob said, there is no set scale for the UCS sets. Each set is big enough for the designers to show some exellent details, while keeping the price point to whatever they were limited too during design. Only the two TIEs are scaled to each other, unless I'm mistaken. This is because the windscreens would be the same size on both ships. with even some minifig-scale vehicles like the motorized AT-AT or the Sandcrawler being called UCS-sets. A five digit number on a set does NOT indicate a UCS set. It simply means the set was a LEGO S@H exclusive, and weren't intended to be sold in retail markets like Target or TRU (although many ended up there anyways). IMHO, the sets that have display placards giving details of the ship are the true UCS sets (X-Wing, TIE Interceptor, AT-ST, TIE Advanced, Star Destroyer, Death Star II, Millenium Falcon, Tantive IV, Y-Wing and Naboo Starfighter). Just for example, the TIE Interceptor and X-Wing UCS sets have set numbers in the 6000s, and the Santa Fe Super Chief carries a five digit set number (10020, to be exact). I don't think anyone considers the Super Chief part of the UCS collection. The UCS Batmobile was set number 7784 as well. Quote
KimT Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I've merged nickvig's question on UCS scale into this topic. Quote
