Posted February 5, 200916 yr I bet you're thinking this thread type seems familiar - well that's because there's one for Canadians already. I don't see why there shouldn't be a thread for people of the UK too (English/Welsh/Scottish and Northern Irish too). Here, we can discuss: Set Prices Country News Shop @ Home availability Ordinary shop availability Anything else you deem relevant to the UK Hope to hear some good conversation here! February 5, 200916 yr I hate how we are getting the Space Police NEXT YEAR and we are getting the new Farm sets in march...I understand March is only a month away but still. I want to get into a new theme. Ive already going to get Pirates since the Pirate sets are most proberbly the most moderately priced theme this year, apart from the Soldiers Fort and Brick Beards Bounty... I wanted to create a Lego City but most I need some small sets that have gone up to around £2 more! I may create a Lego City once I get my Annex done. Now its just a storage but soon I will have much more space for a whole Lego room!
February 5, 200916 yr Pirates and Power Miners are in the "big" ASDA supermarkets, or at least in Cwmbran they are. New Town and some Creator boxes (with the Fireman) are also on the shelves.
February 6, 200916 yr Any sales in stores around Coventry? I have some money to spend! Well, hopefully we will know soon about the prices for the summer 09 sets. I want some Power Miners, Farm and lots of SW. JD
February 7, 200916 yr Author I hope that the UK gets something early - perhaps the 3 new castle sets like last year in March My local TRU is only just beginning to stock up on 2009 January sets (TRU Poole). I don't know whether others are similar.
February 7, 200916 yr I went to my local TRU (Preston) in hope of getting hold of any of the 2009 sets last week, however all they had in were rows and rows of 7680 Twilight and 7675 AT-TE walker, its been like that for well over a month now, I have to say I'm not impressed. Now Woolies has gone, its getting increasingly hard to find Lego in the high street.
February 9, 200916 yr My local TRU is only just beginning to stock up on 2009 January sets (TRU Poole). I don't know whether others are similar. My God! I go there on holiday every year! It is the best place I have ever been to. I love Sandbanks. I go to TRU there every time as well. Perhaps we should meet up next summer.... JD
February 9, 200916 yr Not a new set, but the excellent Indy Peril in Peru set 7628 is back in stock at Shop @ Home and in the Lego store Brighton. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...n=536&d=519

Perhaps we should meet up next summer.... EDIT: I don't know... I have my reservations... Maybe, but I'll definately keep you updated on what Lego is available here. P.S Argos seems to have most of the new sets - especially Power Miners. Got the Thunder Driller from there a few days ago. Edited February 11, 200916 yr by The Rancor
February 11, 200916 yr I don't know... you could be a peedo (and no, this is not serious!) Not nice. I am no 'peedo' because I am only 18, and I am a 'responsible and mature young man' according to one of my friends parents. Even though this is not serious, you still could offend someone in the future. You saying I could be a 'peedo' makes you look like you are a kid and I am an adult! I take this sort of stuff seriously so sorry. Thanks for the heads up on the other sets. Edited February 11, 200916 yr by Jammiedodger714

February 11, 200916 yr I think the A-Wing needs some work though. The bridge looks quite accurate and so do the figs. Maybe TLC will be kind and give it us for £30-£40. JD
February 14, 200916 yr I called into Toys R Us in Derby yesterday to find them filling the shelves with the new City Farm sets. Picked up a tractor (£7.99) , which is a great little set.

I guess I'll be off to TRU in Stevenage tomorrow then!! The tractor is one of my 2009 most wanted. Hope it's not just a Derby thing... Cheers Rog
February 14, 200916 yr I thought I would have a hard time getting lego in Halifax once our woolies closed, but then I realised we had an Argos and an Argos extra that are currently pricing star wars sets much lower than they should be...silly me. No seriously, I picked up a Republic Gunship yesterday for £60, and Anakin's Starfighter today for £10(from Asda). There is a Toys R Us nearby, but it's just far enough away for me to not really care.
February 17, 200916 yr My local TRU has all the new sets, except for the solar sailer, which is the last one I need!! It is supposed to be a TRU exclusive? Thanks Ashoka~
February 19, 200916 yr Is it just me or are prices a little bit better this year than in previous years? Apart from Star Wars which is always to expensive in the UK everything else seems well priced and quite fair.
February 20, 200916 yr What is the release date for the farm sets in the UK does anyone know? I believe it's March, late or early I don't know. I can't wait though Laurie
February 22, 200916 yr Author I believe it's March, late or early I don't know. I can't wait though Laurie Yes, March is what it read in my Lego Club magazine. I hope that the Castle sets come out then too. I need some revenge for no Space Police I've just been to Torquay in Devon and went to the local Argos. Bought a sweet Granite Grinder. The mechanism's quite funny I now have all the colours of Rock Monster
February 23, 200916 yr That is so weird. We go to the same places all the time The Rancor! Torquay is a nice little town. The beach is lovely! I stayed in a place just next to the Grand Hotel, with the gates and the driveway going up to a house. I stayed on the side part with one big window looking out to the sea. My little cousins were playing with me most of the time so I couldn't admire the view until they were asleep. My local TRU had a 50% off on some Exo Force sets. I didn't get them though. JD

I know the feeling. My cousins are all either between 10 and 15 years older than me or are below 5 years old Hmm... I don't think I'll go for any Exo Force deals. Wonder if there are any more deals for 2008 Star Wars sets... I don't really want to go to TRU very often now, as I'll be paying out to get the ATOT and LAAT. However, I won't have it first as usual
